GPe devices getting newer build after 4.3 release? - Nexus 4 General

Looks like Nexus devices are getting JWR66N as the official 4.3 build.
Unless there's OTA update right after the release of the new Nexus 7
check this vid
2nd gen Nexus 7 hands-on
But the S4 GPe already had a newer build leaked JWR66V, with a build date of July 11th.
What do you guys think?

I think those nexus 7's were sent to warehouses before the latest build had been made. There will be a newer build for the official release. They'll get an OTA.

No, I switched yesterday. I was wanting to test a couple things to compare stock 4.3 to 4.2

The N and the V in the builds mean very little in the grand scheme of things.

Even if there is no real difference between the two, can someone explain what the difference is, regardless...?

[Q] Verizon's April 5th Update Woes

I, regrettably, just updated my phone to Verizon's April 5th 2013 Jelly Bean (9.8.2O-72_VZW-18-2
Blur_Version.98.72.182.XT894.Verizon.en.US) and they seem to have closed the exploit that razr blade uses. Specifically, creating /data/local.prop results in "permission denied." Has anyone else experience this problem? Is there a work around or another exploit? Thanks.
Mine was not installing on my phone for me so I tried flashing the zip in recovery with no prevail. After this I tried the Razr Blade mod on Windows 7 and it was not working for me. After that I booted up my Ubuntu 12.04 and tried again and it worked perfect for me. Try downloading the Ubuntu 12.04 live CD and burn it to a disk, run,it, download the Droid 4 JB utility from the forums, followe all the instructions in it and it should do it for you. I just accomplished this yesterday(5/13/2013). Let me know if you need any more help and keep trying. Don't give up yet.

I flashed Fri Apr 5 14:12:22 CDT 2013
9.8.2O-72_VZW-18-2 Blur_Version.98.72.182.XT894.Verizon.en.US
rooted with razr blade (win 7/64)
and was able to flash back to
Fri Feb 8 13:11:57 CST 2013
9.8.2O-72_VZW-18 Blur_Version.98.72.18.XT894.Verizon.en.US
didn't really check what was different
I did take pics of Jellybean system info

Have I missed something? Is there a further update to the original JB update? Do we know if there's any material difference?
I've just tried a system update check, and it's saying I'm up to date, but I have the 8th Feb build date.
Cheers,
Steve.
it was posted here http://sbf.droid-developers.org/cdma_maserati/list.php
Apart from the issue related to rooting, are there any noticeable changes?
Have the hardware keyboard problems been addressed? Is it a leak of an impending release?
Do we know anything else about it other than the different build date?
Cheers,
Steve
I duplicated the post on rootzwiki (/topic/40718-verizon-april-5th-update-woes/) and got a working answer there. Thanks to all for your assistance. As for the update, I have no idea what changes were made.

That's a discussion about the original update, not the difference between the two JB releases.
right coder0xff is the only one, who has reported running the new version, other than me
I just checked to see if it was rootable, then flashed back to original and that is as far as I got.

Fair enough - I'm just surprised there isn't more discussion about it.
I think it must have gone unnoticed.
it just was posted a few days ago, and no one was expecting it.

Nope. I've been using it for two days. Battery life and fluidity may be a bit better or it could be placebo. CNN notifications started working on NC1 when they were broken on NA6. GM updated to 1.7.041404 after I installed NC1.
GM updated again on my note 3, but it's saying NA6 is still the latest.

The Android L Preview Factory Image

Now that Google released an Android L Preview Factory Image for the 2012 Nexus 7, has anyone tried it?
How useable is it and what are the main gotchas?

a factory image and an incomplete source drop are not the same! you mixed something up.
Google released some GPL sourcecode which you can't "try out" (neither flash).
Only nexus 5 and Nexus 7 (2013) have flashable factory images!
Please use the Q&A section for Questions like these next time to keep the general section clean.

The original thread for this is right next to this one on xda. It's titled [ROM][5.0.0][The unnamed Android L SDK port][for MultiROM][01/07/14][v4] and it only works with MultiROM. (+makes it impossible to install some apps, but works well otherwise)
Lazy "journalism."

It's still 5.02. Build is LRX22G.T800XXU1BOE2 dated 12May.
The kernel and SE for Android was updated. Looks like they fixed a few Bugs.
Downloading now
Just snagged it myself in Canada. Confirming LRX22G.T800XXU1BOE2 build number.
Otherwise not seeing anything different. Any major bugs that other people were running into that are now squashed?
--Databoy2k
How about a memory leak fix?, or do we have to wait for v5.1 for that.
John.
From what I can see they have fixed the Samsung Lollipop Netflix bug where the video freezes after about 30 seconds. I just tried Netflix for a while and no video freeze! Yay!

More bloat and less fixes in this OTA.

What bloat? Where do you find that evident?
Damn, why did this come out a day after I rooted my Lollipop Tab S?
I am making the assumption that I will be notified when this is available as I have checked and nothing. I hope this is not a Samsung gradual update that takes 6 months to get around the world! Does anyone have a download for it to stop the 3 month wait?
Yeah, I wonder if this affects my stock SM-T800 with root. Hmmmm....
Deleted.
anymore info on potential improvements in this update?
Dunno about the improvements. I installed the update, then rooted it again, and installed TWRP recovery back.
I can say I haven't noticed any issues, so at least it is safe to install this, and it did fix the Netflix playback issue I mentioned earlier.
I also think it seems to match my fingerprint better too, but it may just be a placebo effect.

Question Android 13 beta flash file request

I have a unlocked s21 ultra with code xxa, last beta we were able to flash via odin the beta file but I have not seen anyone posting it up.
Please post the file.
There is no beta yet for S21 series.
I Believe only s22 got the beta at this point
Ok I was under the impression that both the s22 and s21 betas were released.
It will rollout soon. They're testing it internally.

Good news... I just did a search on S21... And see the same.... We need to create a thread so the guys can upload the OTA files for us as soon as it opens for S21 series

Sadly no. C to D may mean Major Android change, but it also means One UI upgrade as well.
However, why Samsung is testing 4.1.1 while we're on the brink of 5.0 Beta, is odd, but then again, Samsung is analogous to oddness.
Outside of Tablets and Foldables, i don't see how 4.1.1 makes sense, since they're pushing for Android 12L there.
