After i installed Laufersteppenwolfs rom, i couldnt call anyone. After rebooting i could make calls, but i cant send or receive SMS. Neither does 3G/2G/data overall work. Wifi does work. Im on T-Mobile (Germany). I tried filling the apn settings but it won't save. Any ideas what i could do to fix it? I don't really want to switch the rom, since its quite fast.

Hmm, it is more to the network than calling and texting
yes it can if you has the network setting
you have to manually type the apn settings
I just can't text and call.
format your sd card or just delete the data.img
then download the may2 version from here http://www.xperia.0fees.net/index.php?p=1_2_Downloads
extract all the files to root of card
replace all
then hit the haret
it will surely work for you
I did it the same. but i wil try remove data.img for once more.

I need more help as possible. I did as sanjay said. but failed.
did you search for the network operators in linux?
if it doesnt txt then you must not be connected to any service operator,
cause usually when you start up it will connect to the operator and download its settings, if you use mms then you may need to add the number or address.
what about using 2g networks?, flight mode ?.
connecting to a service for txting and calling works under windows ?, what rom are you using ?
it should just work straight out of the box with a generic xperia.
i was fiddling with the operators under linux, it stalled wouldnt load again so i deleted the data.img and now back to normal, then i turned it off changed simcard to 2degres and both on the first boot
i dont know what else to tell you, you may need to ask the network provider i didnt find much information on Maxis Malaysia website.
Can you even see a signal strength in the notification bar at the top? or is it showing as disconnected?
Its not the APN settings, because they are only for data connections, and have nothing to do with calls & txt.
The problem may be that android cant read the network settings from the SIM you have? Maybe go to your carrier and ask for a new SIM? (one compatible with android)
Does your carrier sell any android phones?
Hi,
I have a Samsung I9000 Galaxy S device running Gingerbread 2.3.3 (Kernel: 2.6.35.7-I9000XWJVH-CL184813) and I can't seem to send or receive any MMS.
I don't really know exactly when this problem started because I just recently had to use MMS and noticed it was broken. I'm sure at some point it was working correctly.
When I receive a MMS I get the notification and in the message there is a "Download" button. Touching the button it give me a notification that the download failed.
I've checked the apn settings over and over again.
I don't have any other issues with my phone.
Please let me know if you had encounter this problem and if you have any solutions.
late reply - saw this while trying to find a solution to my new problem.
could not send or receive mms on my i9000m without using telstra wap apn (not ideal as not on a data plan, only prepaid talk/text).
finally got a prepaid data plam\n so all was good til today when suddenly lost ability to mms again - send or receive. trying to play with apn options again but now also find that i can't delete all the existing apns and start from scratch. the 'default' telstra ones...mms and internet, obviously not working and i can't get rid of them...but can start a new one.
wonder if i can delete them via root explorer, but don't know where to find them in there. will keep looking and update if i resolve this issue.
bummer.....
Hi everyone, I'm using Stocklite v8 custom rom, I am facing following issues,
1. Even when I have good network coverage (around 59 dBm) there is a huge lag while receiving a call. A caller to my number have to wait for around 20 seconds to receive a call, so sometimes the caller may end the call thinking my number is unreachable.
2. I don't receive SMS many times especially from web (e. g. I have not received SMS in first attempt from google when they wanted to verify my account) . I checked all the settings from my service provider but they said everything is fine.
I logged a complaint to my network provider but they think everything is fine. I even bought new SIM card thinking if the old one is causing problem, but still facing the same issue.
Even before Stocklite I was using Apocalypse rom & I was facing the same issue. So is it Android that causing me the problem?
Plz help me. Thanks in advance.
[1] Did you tweak some clock speeds, coz sometimes in roms they tweak it when your phone sleeps its clock speeds go down like 100mhz then when screen is on its back to full speed. And why do you have to wait 20 seconds??
[2] Try to go to airplane mode and turn it off, reboot. If that didnt solve your problem then apply a pin to your sim card, when i did that i can recieve sms.
Hope this solves your problem

Thanks for the reply.
[1] Yes, I did check some of the clock speed tweaks & Minimum RAM tweak. But unchecked all these tweaks & then tried it but still the problem is persisting.
The problem is that sometimes when people call me they don't hear my caller tune for around 15-20 seconds & able to hear the tune after I receive the call although there is good network strength. So most of the people don't wait for that long thinking my number ain't reachable & end the call. But if they give another try just after the first attempt, they get a reception from me within 5 seconds I hope u got my point now.
[2] I did try that airplane mode trick but seems it's not working for me.
As I already said this issue doesn't occur everytime, but it happens randomly & very frequently. Also sometimes I get duplicate SMSs from my network provider. They checked everything from their end & confirmed that it's not a network related issue.
So, I believe it's my phone which is causing me this problem.
Try not using internet
Try not using internet when not in use..
try uninstalling apps which enables when a call is made or recieved like shaplus caller info and truecaller or call recorder.

I had installed call recorder once long time ago, but I have already uninstalled it. Other than that I have apps such as hangouts, clean master, google settings etc & rest are multimedia apps, but I don't know if they interfere during calls or not.
I have noticed one thing that the mentioned problem occurs mostly when my phone is in idle state, but it occurs when the screen is ON & when the phone is busy as well. I have already unchecked all the speed tweaks in my phone but still no solution found.

Thanks I actually found out that its the problem with the phone itself. I tried to check on other handset and I didn't face such issues.
But now I am facing another major issue.Whenever I change my sim card and insert it into another phone, my dad receives an sms from number that says my IMEI has been stolen and everyday my phone credits get deducted. I dont know whether i have ever enabled change sim alert option or not but I am unable to find out that option in my stocklite v8 rom.
Please tell me how to disable that option in my phone, I am running out of my credits.
I upgraded to PIE and now I have major issues sending texts. I removed all themes and any add ons. If I reboot I can send a text but after a few minutes I can't. I have to keep rebooting in order to send a simple text.
what app are you using to send texts? as in try different one etc
Messages Version 10.0.00.112
try wipe cache partition too

I have done that before but I just went ahead and did it again. I am really starting to think a factory reset is my next thing to try. I never had any issues until PIE update.

Check your carrier's APN settings. I JUST had that issue today, went to TMobile's website and got the right APN settings and all is fine now. Assuming that you know how to add/delete/change APN settings.
I can;t get into the APN settings. It won't let me access the settings.
I chatted with Verizon support. They seem to think it's an app issue even though it also failed in Safe Mode. They suggest I try a factory reset.
EDIT:
I can see the APN settings but I cannot add, edit, or reset any settings.
did you try Google Messages ? if that fails too then factory reset
Take your device into the high street branch of your Cell Provider's store and let them take a look at it.
Just an update to my issue. If I turn wifi off I can send and receive messages just fine.
I flashed different Custom ROMs now. The problem occured out of nowhere, I changed nothing. I was not able to receive nor make calls. Phone app works, but on the call screen it is stuck on dialing. SMS and mobile data are working fine nonstop all the time.
In the current rom I changed some network settings (en- and disabled enhanced 4G-calling, disabling WiFi calling, updating APN manually, choose cellular network manually) and I got it to work 2-3 times randomly inbetween. But when I tried again with nothing at all changed it didn't work again.
Resetting the network settings, the device, clearing cache and dalvik, clean flashing the rom again, or even switching roms didn't solve the problem (did not try it on stock rom though until now! But really would like to also have phone function on custom roms...)
If someone got a solution for this, I'd be happy about some help, phone without calling function is not really useful to me. Thanks in advance.
EDIT: I noticed, that when entering *#06# on the numpad I only get a serial number, no IMEI, I don't think that this is normal?
