Is there a setting somewhere that allows you to use the green illuminated call (button?) that is in the same place as the end call button which does work? I find the thumb stretch it takes to initiate the call by pressing the photo a nuisance.

Is it possible to program one of the hot keys to be a phone mute/unmute button, or is there a need to create an app?
I'll check out if I can make an app out of it tomorrow unless anyone posts anything different. I made a key lock app for the PTT soft button. I might make it mute your call if you're in a call or lock your phone if you're not. Anyway, lets hope it can be done without an app or with an app and you'll have it by tomorrow evening. Do you have the Tilt, Tytn, or Vario?
Thanks for your prompt response. I have an unlocked TYTN II.
You might not have a PushToTalk button. Got any of the other buttons in mind? You can map it to whatever, and I'll check it out tomorrow. See my first post titled "First Post / KeyLock" for my keylock app and a link on how to map the PTT button. Other buttons should be similarly mapped.
Would like to use the green phone button for this purpose.
I'm interested in this too (I swear I live on concalls for work right now). Either the green button or the ok button on the side of the phone. But I'm curious, will the phone have to be "on" (ie: not sleeping) for this to work? Currently I use the reTOUCHed dialer and just go to Call Status screen and tap the mute / unmute toggle on the screen to do this (which works well since they are bigger buttons than the default dialer on the Tilt). But having it mapped to a hardware button would be very nice.
Was there ever any progress on this? I'd like to assign the PTT button to mute/unmute during a call. I am constantly on conference calls and having to use the touchscreen to do this is ridiculous.
I want to assign a shortcut for speaker on/off to some key (like the recording button on the left side) so i can shift to speaker while being on call. can i do it? I tried it using the settings -> buttons but couldnt find the shortcut for speaker
Can't you just switch to speaker by holding down the call button during a call?
no...during call if i press the dial button (green one) it puts it on hold
there is a touch screen button for the speaker on/of but i want it on the button only.
You can do this through ae button plus.
a link to the cab would help me a lot please...

awesome man....works like charm....
I'm going nuts here. After searching google and this forum I simply can't find a way to bring up my call history. Ie the full log that you can see when you have a missed called and you click the phone with an exclamation mark in the top bar of the phone.
I know I can view history for individuals in the contact manager but how do I bring up the full log?
With normal ROM?
I remember it was something like pressing Dial button (green button) and then press UP on your pad.
ps. Hi all on the forums, after reading here for some time i decided to post aswell
If it's the stock rom the icon is on the today screen to the right of the text message icon. Otherwise in the dialer app it's the icon that looks like a phone with and arrow wrapped around it just below the video call icon. Hope this helps.
Press the green dial button and up or right pad button. It will open the call log. Alternatively, on the dialer screen, there is a call history button below the backspace and video call button.
Cheers.
Is there any way to make the people icons in the Contacts tab of HTC Home jump to the phone screen with the contact set ready to dial, but wait for you to press the Green call button before it actually dials? It's far too easy to accidentally dial someone via that panel with an inadvertant touch at present. It's still a handy way to get to your favourite contacts quickly, but I'd much prefer the 'safety net' of having to press the green button to actually initiate the call. Is there such an option?

When you press phone button, it by default opens up on the keypad. Is there a way to set it so that it always opens up on the call history instead?
Thanks.
