Hi there,
I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 WiFi/3G (first edition). Right now there is stock ROM on it. I flashed CWM on it, booted in recovery mode and followed some guide I found.
At first I had an older version of CWM (5), after some playing around I installed CWM version 6. I wanted to flash the CM10 ROM, but version 5 of CWM gave me some error, So I flashed a newer version.Followed the guide again, installed ROM from ZIP file with CWM, no errors, flashing is done, reboot Tab, and now the only thing I see is the "Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1" logo/boot screen.
When I restore the backup I created earlier, the tablet boots in the stock ROM again...
So I was wondering what is going wrong... I have read some thread but could not find anything similar to this...
Thanks!
Hi,
You are on the wrong forum, but I guess that you will need to re- stock your device using Odin or hemindall.

I rooted my mini and then reverted back to factory settings(froyo).
Then,
using odin, with TASS_v1.0.ops and tass-recovery-cwm.tar I flashed Clockworkmod.
Using CWM, as said in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1167750, I installed update-cm-7.1.0-GalaxyMini-KANG-signed-09102011.zip. I wiped data and cache before and after. But still after reboot, My screen is stuck at samsung splash.
possible mistake:- using tass-recovery-cwm.tar on froyo as said in a forum. There, CWM-Froyo.tar was used for flash which I repeated to no vail.
Device is Indian.
I want to have a Cyanogenmod 7 ROM
edit:- Now, if I use tass-recovery-cwm.tar while flashing with odin, I nomore get a recovery screen
Since I couldn't do anything, I just rolled back over to GB again.
To get cmw working you need to have GB. After you can successfully install cm 7 following the guide
Yes.
My changing to fyro was accidental.

you just tried to install cm7 on froyo which is note possible cm7 is made for gingerbread not for froyo first install gingerbread on your pop
I tried doing the update to CM9 March, and I fail, I fail to boot the tablet (semibrick). The steps I follow are:
2.3.3 Delivery of Gingerbread rooted
With the CMW 3.0.0.5
Reboot into recovery mode with the CMW:
1 - I flash the ROM from sdcard
2 - the same with the Kernel
3 - google apps
Once everything without problems, restarting the tablet remains in the initial logo Galaxy Tab, there does not happen.
If I reboot into recovery mode, I have the latest CWM, but there is no way to boot.
I tried also to replace the zImage from ROM but as usual, someone could help me??
If i would repair the semibrick, I need to flash the 2.3.3 ROM, with odin and then make the root another time.
How I can install CM9 on my GT-P1000?
Thanks.
go to the dev section, look for Overcome 4.1 ROM thread.
Follow the restock procedure there.
Then flash Overcome 4.0 kernel.
That will give you the CwM 5.something recovery
AND it will convert your filesystem from RFS to EXT4
Maybe that is what you are lacking.
Once that is done, flash the CM9 as per your original steps.
Good luck.
Thanks Priyana,
I've flashed overcome 4.0 Kernel, and then CM9, and all works perfect.
Now I can use CM9!!!!
wifi and restore problem in cm9
I hope this experience is not useful. If the SIM card into the phone after installing the ROM, wireless does not work. Also, when restoring backup
I have no problem using it. No need to install software updates or any other wireless
tnx
Most of the 30 ROM installation but I LOVE this
that is the wifi code issue with middle eastern tab. (ICS only)

Hi, I'm stuck with installing new rom, so I hope, that you'll help me.
There are steps what I've done:
- followed THIS topic and ROOT the device with ODIN and CF-Root 4.4 file.
- OKAY, I'm rooted, so let's flash the new ROM
- entered in Clockworkmod Recovery and format EVERYTHING ( /data, /system, /cache, /sdcard etc.... just everything) for clear system
- next I load package with ROM and than INSTALLL
and here is the most important part
- when installed ROM gets something like bootloop but with restart - ROM is loading and after about 40 sec its RESTART
- and the same thing over and over again - restart ->loading->restart.... System never start up correctly to the end
- then when I saw that it does not work, I tried go into the CWM, but there was no CWM (!!!) - it was erased (by installing new ROM maybe???)
- so I must flash (old and stock) ROM via ODIN and again root device with CF-Root (with CWM) - that was only functional rom, what I was able to run, and again did this procedure
I tried this way, perhaps with millions of different ROM and EVERY was stucked (restart) while loading.
I think there are some non-deleted files in device, which should be erased (and which cannot be erased by CWM) for clear start of new installed ROM, what do you think?
Would someone please help me? I don't want old Gingerbread with Kies
Thanks for every responce!
Does it say in the thread that you have to flash a custom kernel?? Give.me the link for the thread so I can make sure that you've done everything right

I think, when I've root and CWM, there is no problem and install a new rom will be very least, so not as it seems
Dude this is a kernel not a rom what's the matter with you??:what:
Sent from ma 5assak
please read all my topic - i flash this kernel only for clockworkmod recovery
through CWM I can flash any other rom
through ODIN only stock - cant find any ICS or JB rom which I can flash via ODIN (.tar file)
What variant of i9000 do you have? Are you sure that the rom you are trying to flash is made exactly for your variant?
EDIT: Try Darky ROM, they have an ODIN flashable version called "Resurrection Edition" or something.
I mean give me the link for the Rom you are using not kernel

Samsung Galaxy S I9000, i'm sure 100%. NOT I9001, NOT Samsung Galaxy S2. Tried many roms from Development section for I9000, tried from get.cm etc... always the same result bootloop with restart

OK. For example: this rom cm-9.0.0-galaxysmtd and cm-9-20120815-NIGHTLY-galaxysmtd from http://get.cm/?device=galaxysmtd
Or this one last ([ALPHA][ROM][4.1.1] CyanogenMod 10 for Samsung Galaxy S) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1778526 and 20120808 build.
and [ROM][PORT][ANDROID 4.1.1][BETA] TAJB: Jelly Bean port for Galaxy S V7.1 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1747042
and this too [4.0.4][ROM] Dark Knight 5.5 [27/4/2012] http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1510940
and many more....
realy unhappy from this

I meant I9000 or I9000B or I9000M or I9000T there's a difference between them
I9000 only, checked it several times
Ok so you can flash Darky Rom Resurrection Edition through ODIN with no problem. Its GingerBread if i remember correctly, but it should give you a recovery mode and fully operating phone. From this point you can flash whatever you want.
....And there is one more important thing:
When I have a stock kernel and stock rom from Samsung, cant get into recovery mode - VOLUME UP and POWER non functional. Only when I type: "adb reboot recovery" in terminal.
Just after when I flash a new pre-rooted kernel with CWM, VOLUPE UP and POWER is now functional
k4Z3666: OK, I try and give you an echo I think, when I format everything in CWM, there will be no sign of the earlier system and ALL WILL BE CLEAR

ok, flashing ICS, may need to be done twice, as first flash may bootloop, IF you want to return to stock to get out of this mess, since you are not sure as to where you are now, due to flashing many roms, use any kit from My Android Collections, link below to get you to a booting ROM, than add a kernel with CWM (use EZbaze package with kernels)
that's helped me too thank you

Hi,
I have tried to install both AOSP Beta 8 and 9 for P7300. I get the error the same error message both times, status 7 which is guess is due to that I'm using the wrong CMW file (version 5.5....). Reading the forums it seems like cmw 6.0.1.0 works pretty well. Is there a repository where I can download these CMW files? I have search but not really found any good place. What combination of AOSP version and CMW is best? Do I need to change the kernal also?
Any help is welcome!
Kind regards,
Mikael Hagström
I recomand you to install the cwm 6.0.0.8, i think it's the best and this should fix your problem.

Don't think recovery version is to blame.
Do you have the 7300 or 7310 galaxy tab?
What was the last Rom / recovery that you flashed with Odin?
IIRC status 7 is an assert failure, so you could also turn off assert verification in the recovery, before flashing... Or remove offending assert from the update script in aosp ROM zip. (probably a line like test for p5 or p7300)
Or you can flash CWM 6.0.0.8 from the thread on cm9 (kallt_kaffe) , post #2. Although file is named 6008, it really is 6010... If you insist on that route

Thanks for your replies.
I have the P7300.
I'm back on the stock ROM now since I could not get the AOSP ROM to work.
I tried removing the assert lines. The tablet hang on the X (Nexus) screen when I rebooted.
I will try both again with the new Clockwork Recovery file.
Hi,
I tried again his morning. With CWM 6.0.0.8 from the thread on cm9 and the ROM from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1789464. It now installs but when I reboot is gets stuck at the black screen with the colourful Nexus X. I left it like that for 25 min but no change just the X. This is how I do it.
I start of with the stock ROM (Build number HTJ85B P7300XWKL4)
I root the device and install superuser and root check (that tells me it have been rooted)
I install CWM 6.0.0.8 from boot by running the ZIP file
I boot up into Clockwork Recovery and install the AOSP ZIP. The tablet restarts after install but gets stuck at the screen with the X.
Do I need to do a wipe?
I'm I missing some steps?

Ok, lets start this here
Since i got my new Samsung GALAXY MINI (GT-S5570) i had a bad stock on it, with wi-fi errors, auto restarts, and other problems i was facing with... So i decided to flash and root my phone.
I followed some of the tutorials given by members here on this forum, and i successfully managed to root my phone, and install a new rom onto it !
- I used this rom to flash my Samsung Galaxy Mini (GT-S5570) GINGERSLEEK, was working fine and other, i was satisfied with it, but after some time it got boring and i decided to flash a new rom into the phone. This is where i fcked up... After i found a new rom i waned to flash, i did all the steps i am supposed to do ?
I found this rom VOID ROM and followed his steps how to flash, after i done all of that, and installed the new ROM, my phone didnt want to boot, it got stuck on the " A N D R O I D" boot logo... So after trying to go back to GINGERSLEEK, i couldnt, i installed it, and nothing happens, again stuck on the "ANDROID" boot logo...
So i tried to flash my phone to a stock rom, i had so many problems with ODIN to flash it to stock rom . When i flashed with odin i had a error, it couldnt flash, i was disappointed ... So i used google to find a solution, i was lucky and i landed on some forum where they said i have to flash "arm11boot"... It was kinda weird, why should i do that, but after i did it, everything started to work on ODIN and i could FLASH my phone to the STOCK ROM of Samsung Galaxy Mini!
So i wonder now, since my phone is back to a stock ROM am i able to FLASH it to THIS ROM (VOID) and root it without any problems, and if it is possible if some one could copy/paste me the steps how to flash it and how to root it successfully !
Thank you very much for your help !

Follow this:
1. Make sure you have got gingerbread installed on your galaxy mini/pop s5570.
2. Get root.zip for stock gb(search for that root zip here in galaxy mini section) and flash it via stock recovery.
3. Download this file " update-CWM-5.2.0.8-Touch2-squadzone.zip"(again check galaxy mini section for this zip, don't flash any other phone's recovery, otherwise it'll hard brick your phone, be careful in choosing recovery, it has to be tass compatible recovery) and flash it via stock recovery and restart recovery.
4. Make wipes as recommended by void rom thread and install it. You are good to go after that.

Every phone has a default recovery which we call it "stock recovery".
You should look at sticky threads in galaxy mini android development section.
