[Q] Mackay Battery Life - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

why does my battery drains faster ??? play 2D game can drain battery from 98% to 90% in less then 30 mins !! :'( maybe moooore in less time or is the problem my battry ?? RUNNING CM10.1

I think the Mackay rom is very tweaked for best performance, but you may set it to reduce it and slow the battery drain.

(4 days on battery) it is pretty much good, but what about your daily usage. it seems that you use the phone slightly.

If the rom has no batery drain problem, yout phone should work at last 40-48 hours with normal use. (a little radio, gamming, surfing the web ...)
Using low light on the screen and turn on the wifi, bluetooth and gps only when needed will greatly increase battery life.
With this battery http://viewitem.eim.ebay.pt/GOLD-2430MAH-EP500-BATTERY-FOR-SONY-ERICSSON-XPERIA-X8/350645302092/item and using the conditions previously spoken, i have batery lyfe of +75 h

Gingerbread Roms Battery

Hi,
My parents are currently using the Galaxy S, and I just want to flash a rom that will have strong battery life. Do gingerbread roms have the best battery life?
Thanks

With GB "Saurom JW8 v3 Odex " I had the best battery life ever in standby. After 5 days standby, I had 79% remaining battery life with a new 1800 mAh battery, and the kernel settings (in semaphore manager): governor: SaveBattery, semaphore autobrightness: normal.
GPS and Data were disabled (only GSM). I never had such a low standby power consumption with any CM or JB ROM.
But when you use your Galaxy S and the display is on, maybe you will be able to use your SGS 1-3 days until the battery is empty.
At the moment I use the latest GB ROM "Saurom JW9 v2 Odex" with the same settings but at the moment I`m using my SGS so that I cannot
say, if the battery life in standby is as good as with Saurom JW8 v3 Odex".

[Q] Optimus 2x battery kernel

Hello.
I'm looking for really good kernel for my phone. I've 2.6.39.4 kowalski-exp and battery life was horrible. I used my phone for 4h and now it's on 19%. Can someone tell me some really good kernel that supports Jelly bean and good battery life? Please help
Can you post your battery usage screen shot or if you have BBS installed please screenshot of BBS? That 4 hours phone usage that you are mentioning, is that 4 hours of voice call or 4 hours browsing? or what? If it is 4 hours with screen on with WIFI or 3G on all the time I think that is reasonable. I am using kowalski kernel and I have reasonable battery life.

I used wifi for about 1h. Maybe less, don't know. I played a game for maybe 2h. On original rom battery was way better, but ICS on Optimus 2x really sucks. So much lag, can't even open facebook in less than 10 sec.

if you play games 2h that is not horrible battery life...i recommend you latest tonyp build cm11 from 20. 01.2014 and latest penguss77 alpha 31...for me that is best combination ever...no such cm10.2, simply the best, forget about ICS and JB, kitkat is miles away better than them,in almost every segment, it has very low memory usage and good optimization...thats my opinion.bye

Battery drain

I experience battery drain in all rom, cm10.1, 10.2, cm11. 50% suddenly drop to 10% below. 100% battery but after reboot it drops to 80% below. Does any one experience this in any rom?

Its only natural that your battery drains faster when using roms like cm10 and greater. You can get the best battery backup only when you use gingerbread based roms (with stock rom giving the maximum backup). However, user @Venomous Viper 119 has provided a detailed guide on how to improve the battery and performance of our ace. You can follow the instruction in it to increase the battery backup to a greater extend. Here is the link,
How to Improve battery life & performance of Samsung Galaxy Ace

lots of stock roms are available deodexed. Read this thread by member @R_a_z_v_a_n which explains it very well, then use search to find the deodexed ones. Search remember is your friend
I haven't seen any notable difference in battery life on any 4.3 or 4.4 rom. Surfing the web over wifi and brightness set manually to medium i lost about 12-13% charge in 30 minutes.
Higher battery drain can be a placebo effect too. You installed a new rom and expect at least as good battery life as on stock, let's say. Then on your new rom you keep eye on the battery, waking your phone more often and checking the battery status and stats, thus draining the battery little more overall. I won't tell that's the case right now, it's just one possible reason people see their batteries dying sooner. Now i'm currently on fresh CM 10.1 (build 1117) and will find out if there is any difference in battery life compared to CM 11.

Right! I solved my battery problem hiding the battery icon on the statusbar lol
on cm11 05\03 with pegasusq + sioplus, one day with medium usage (3g activated when needed and some vg)
Well CM 10.1 doesn't give me more battery life than kitkat. With my usage pattern and settings it's draining about 26% per hour.
Hey, I flash harshjelly and after one Day of utilisation, my Juice is 26 % now... My client service don't want to help me...
