Ordered my nexus 7 (x2) as soon as there was a button on the UK website. Now I know chrome is the default browser, so I thought sweet, I'll install it on my a500 so I can get used to it before the tab arrive's.
Omg, what a piece of rubbish, every time I change tabs from XDA to another site the page is just plain white, then back to XDA since it was already tabbed and loaded you'd assume it would still be, but no. Its plain white. Then to piss me off even more halve way though writing this post it crashed lol! What kind of a browser crashes inputting text lol. I wanted to like it, in fact I do like the interface but the bugs are just not fun!
uninstalling that crap and going with the good old opera
Anyone else having probs with it ?
Fox
I'll just, use dolphin HD as I have been for awhile.

You must have something wrong with your A500, because that's not the experience I get on my Xoom or Galaxy Nexus...
The plain ol' Browser will be on the Market for download. I have no idea why Chrome is the default browser.

I don't know about A500 roms but to me it sounds like a memory issue or something, its sort of "killing" tabs to save memory and then reloading them once you need them again. Maybe some background processes eating memory?

Yeah I don't even have that problem on my Skyrocket. Chrome rocks.

It does crash occasionly if you keep getting a white page it can clear by going back a page then trying again if not close it then task kill it after that it will be fine.
Overall I find it to be far better than std browser.
I'm a very "clean user" I have fb opera order and chaos, that's it. thinking though maybe one of the processes I have disabled, chrome uses, I disable everything I don't use, camera Calender live wp themes etc, maybe that's the issue?
It don't crash for me at all...works fine and it doesn't look bad enough to use something else

Chrome runs perfectly on my Galaxy Note without any problems with tabs and, whilst there isn't flash support, I love it because of how it easily syncs my bookmarks from my computer.

I won't be using Chrome much on my N7 much if at all just simply because of the lack of adobe flash player support. Dolphin HD seems like a much better option.

I found a cool thing the NFL is doing and its quite cheap.... NFL Rewind lets you watch the games the following day and its $40... not too bad. They have all the full games and also a version with only the plays so you can watch an entire game in 30 minutes... check it out.

I go through the same thing every year. I wish the NFL would let you stream your favorite team's games with a seasonal subscription service. I'd pay quite a bit to stream the Eagles games without going through shady sites that have crappy video quality and littered with ads.

Not owning Titanium Backup Pro and Root Explorer is against the law.
I did splurge on Pocket Cloud Pro though ... and a few games.
Apps I happily bought: Tapatalk, Merriam Webster Dictionary, Bacon Reader, GRave Defense Game, TurboFly HD Game, Canabalt HD Game, Spirits Game, Pocket Weather Australia, Zen Bound 2 Game, Nexus Media Importer (connect usb otg without root).
Apps I regret buying: Beautiful Widgets - terrible terrible app.
Lux Auto Brightness - jumpy auto brightness especially at night.
Thumb Keyboard by BeanSoft - get TouchPal keyboard instead. It is free and less cluttered plus you can swipe to type.

Titanium backup is a must if you are rooted.
Another one I couldn't live without would be Tablet Talk which syncs your tablet to your phone via wifi, and you can take calls, send/receive text messages straight on your nexus, and the coolest part is it syncs everything to your phone, and sends texts and calls using your real mobile number.
Root explorer
Mobile Odin... for flashing ROMs and kernels
Still got $15 of my credit left and waiting for other worthy apps to purchase along the way

Just wondering how many people use their Nexus 7 for a specific job rather than just as a day to day tablet.
Mine has 2 main jobs,
1: When working I receive my assignments over the 3G connection (Just changed to the 3G N7 before I had to tether to my phone so this thing is a godsend). I have to accept them and respond quickly so having the tablet on the dashboard of the car makes this easy.
(Its a shame but my car is too small to have it mounted directly in the dash, I need a car exempt from London Congestion Charge so the choice is limited and the Fiat 500 Twinair is the most fun choice out here)
This is where my Nexus has found it's home and when its not taking assignments I use it to monitor the car and improve my economy using TorquePro and a Bluetooth connection the cars OBDII it allows me to monitor and tweek.
This is where my Nexus 7 3G has now taken up house,. Anyone out there use them for specifics rather than as a general Tablet?.

I use mine for google + post facebook (what little i use it anymore).Other social media. Email my Calender .It does all the stuff i used to do on my phone but is not quite as east because of the small screen. It stays tethered to my phone or connected to my home network.. I also use it for gps in my Mini van. I have lots of room and a nice mount buit into the dash .
There are a few games i play from time to time.. So i would say my tablet is A Social content Device for the most part....
I would trade it for the 3g version and get a normal non smart cell phone . Thought about this alot.. humm

I use my N7 for reading and gaming. The 7" size plus a Tegra 3 make it perfect for both... especially if you play games that only run in portrait mode. Playing portrait-mode games like Cordy Sky, Doodle Fit, Cut the Rope, Tetris, etc. on a 10" tablet is awkward at best.
My N7 had been my day-to-day tablet the past few weeks. I had sold my Motorola Xoom but hadn't yet received my Nexus 10. I found having to use a 7" tablet for things like web browsing, coding, etc. was annoying to say the least just because of screen real estate. But now that I have my N10, my N7 can go back to doing what it's good at and the N10 can now fill my old Xoom's shoes for day-to-day productivity.

Tried it, work OK with Dropbox (with a bit of buffering), couldn't make it working with Google Drive. I am on HTC One so default gallery app didn't work. Great potential though.
It works well with files from the gallery app. It didn't work with mkv or avi files from Google drive. I did not test it with dropbox. I'm using PA 3.96.
With drive it does not read the files. It finds chromecast but it never reads the movie file. I did not try an mp4 file from drive either.

Im getting a problem parsing package error when I try to install the apk on my DNA.
Tested on Evo3D phone and Xoom tablet. Casting is not working on either device.
Gallery does not offer an AirCast option.
Google Drive displays the AicCast icon when I select an .mp4 file it finds the CC device, but the CC does not begin streaming.
Dropbox functionality not tested.
I see that some folks have had luck attempting to cast content using a file explorer, but I have had no luck. ES File Manager does not display an option for sending to the CC device.
