nice work..
Here is Koushik Duttas Superuser solution as well: https://plus.google.com/110558071969009568835/posts/bpXwTcHafo1
Root for me worked. lol all i did was start a rooted required app and after it was denied i downloaded supersu and it picked up the built in root in cm10.2 and then i unistalled superSu and my root has been working great
Well yeah that's the easiest way to go about rooting a custom rom..

You used to not have to do that since SuperUser is built in. I think that is what is getting a lot of people including myself when I first looked. Superuser is in the CM 10.2 menu still but it does nothing.

Go to settings - about the phone and tap 7times really quick on the build number tab. After that you see a message that the developer options are now enabled. You can see now the developer tab in the settings menu, click it and you can enable root (apps, adb)

i used in blackcna rom 1.0 till now and i updated my version to 1.2 and i lost my root accses.
any ideas to bring him back?
What do you mean by lost root? Is there no super user or supersu app? Did you try installing these from the play store?
Use root checker to see if you are rooted or not
You could also use voodoo root keeper for keeping root after ota update
Anyways just check for the root if yes install supersu from market
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
the root checker says that i dont have .
Search for busybox ans supersu and flash them using recovery

If you can get into CWM, just try flashing a new ROM. Just make sure you backup your data and apps and wipe system, data, cache, and dalvik cache.

Hi guys,
Some questions here:
1. I was just exploring my O4X with my Titanium Backup when I realized my superuser app isn't listed in Backup/Restore tab. Is there anyway we can do to show the app?
2. When I first rooted my phone, the given superuser app is superuser. Is it possible to use SuperSU instead? I find SuperSU much more user friendly and it's got some features that superuser doesn't.
3. Related to question no. 1 & 2, supposing I've installed SuperSU, is it safe and possible to simply uninstall the superuser app using Titanium Backup and let SuperSU take over the superuser stuff?
Any replies will be greatly appreciated.
PS. It's March 31 in Indonesia and still no sign of official JB update.

To backup Superuser or SuperSU is useless, you need always to install it because of binary.
Installing SuperSU in system will uninstall Superuser automatically but if you don't want to install it in system, you can delete /uninstall Superuser like any other app without losing ROOT (after install SuperSU, it takes control over Superuser)

I actually tried installing both apps and it seems like nothing is happening. The only problem is that I can't remove the superuser, it doesn't show up anywhere not even in Titanium Backup.
Thanks for your reply though

Download SuperSU from play store , open it , tgen go to the setting tap ,, then check the "enable SuperSU" .
Then goto "install SuperSU into /system" .
That is all .

Managed to remove Superuser. Turned out you have delete the apk from /system/app

fcs after update from 20130802 to 0817
Hi,
was on vacation and could not follow the threads, just flashed the new nightly 20130817 (coming from 20130802), realized no google sync and fcs so I figured that I needed the new gapps and flashed it. Works better now, but I still have issues when running chrome or ROM Manager:
"Chrome has stopped working" (same with Rom Manager).
Deleted the apps cache, but it did not help, anything that I´m missing?
Thanks for advice!

I had the same issue. Forgot to flash gapps, then did it, then still had FCs on a number of my Google apps. I ended up uninstalling and reinstalling the offending apps from the play store. So there's always that option.

For the next time, just dirty-flash the same ROM and the gapps right after. That did it for me recently.
flashed fresh copy, went to about, found SElinux or something, tapped it lots, phone was stuck on cynagendmod screen during boot.

Had that happen before. Had to boot into recovery and wipe cache/dalvik.
On-topic: So flashing gapps is completely necessary when going from one 10.2 nightly to another?

Just flashed and booted into it successfully
I was just considering going to TWRP for touch, so your post was very timely. I flashed it and it seems to work just fine. More importantly, the interface is something that I'm used to. Thank you!
For folks who've forgotten how to flash a recovery image -
Power off the phone
Hold down the power, vol up and vol dn buttons until you see a menu
Use the vol dn to go to "AP Fastboot"
Use the vol up to select it
Connect the phone to your computer. The phone should report "usb connected"
Issue the command "fastboot flash recovery <recoveryImageFileName>.img"
After the image has been successfully flashed to the phone, issue the command "fastboot reboot" to reboot the phone

So with Safestrap 3.11 installed and running CM10.2 in Slot 1, I can just install the APK, run it, and tell it to install the new version and it'll replace Safestrap without affecting my ROM slots?

You will need to uninstall 3.11 first. Open the safestrap 3.11 app, uninstall recovery, uninstall the 3.11 app, install the 3.65 app, install recovery. It will not affect your current slots.

Thank you for the reply! I've been running 3.11 this entire time because I was afraid that uninstalling that version would reset my ROM slots and make me have to reinstall my ROM into Slot 1 and set it all up again. Will be trying this tonight!
