NFC on cyanogenmod - Galaxy S III Mini Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is it possible to flash an NFC patch that was written for jelly bean 4.1 over a 4.2 CyanogenMod?
Is there a kernel change or a driver change between those two releases?
Thank you.

No there is no patch for NFC to work in CM, Samsung Kernels is different from CM Kernels
Developers haven't wrote any code for NFC to work in CM since other major issues are still needed to be fixed

All right, seems fair. Thank you for the kind answer!

Leaked i9300 4.2.1 firmware - a port please?

Hi Guys,
Just read http://www.androidcentral.com/android-421-update-international-galaxy-s3-leaks - possible for someone clever to port this to our device?
Cheers,
Paul
No.
Why not? We got a 4.1.2 port from ausdim based on the i9300 build.

Not much sense if we have CM10.1 (4.2.2) on board. .... Use what we've got atm Official 4.2.1 coming soon. ..

except 4.2.2 aosp roms (all of them) don't work with i3905t. Autosync (especially corporate email push - formerly activesync) does not work. This isn't just me; it's a widespread problem and there is no solution.
a port would be really nice.

CM10 Slim Bean, ICS, Ultrasound v3.1 (kernel ZG)
Slim Bean and Ultrasound (IZS is not that good about battery...) both give great battery life!
And which JB ROM is the most stable with minimum bugs? How about JB v 6.4.0 Mixed ROM?

Still Slim Bean. Since it's based on 4.1.2, it is more stable than 4.2 roms.. JellyBam ghas bad battery consumption and has some bugs.
I will highly recommend you use Slim Bean 4.1.2, it is the smoothest, most stable and best battery friendly JB rom :good::good:
Im still waiting for more opinions
CM10 Slim Bean, sure!
No need to wait it will still be Slim Bean lol

If you want JB 4.1, the test "Slim Rom" is very good in battery (primarily in standby) and relatively stable and very customizable. If ICS, the best we've tested so far was the Ultrasound v3.1 (with kernel Zerogravity), the only problem I had was in relation to lag when opening the camera sometimes.
Just my opinion

Why cm first

Why cm roms are compiled earlier than aosp. Even aosp sources are released earlier
This question may seem to be noobish but i really dont know about it

Because our device doesn't have official support. If you have Nexus device, i sure AOSP get compiled earlier.

Gaining more and more importance as Android versions progress.
Already there are problems being faced in current Android versions like jelly bean 4.2 due to lack of NEON.

Official cm support is likely to be dropped. Unofficial builds from developers may continue, but no guarantees.
