I need help on rooting my phone. For example how to root my HTC One and if I can undo the rooting. Also I want to know if it will slow down my device.

Rooting does Not slow down your phone and you can undo rooting when you install stock firmware
but if you root ur phone then at some cases it might get bricked so its useless as a brick

Been rooting phones since my hero days but this will be the first time I've bought an unlocked international phone. Any precautions I should take and what is the safest rooting method available?
Thanks
Derek

My friend rooted his Note a while back then has accepted the OTA. The OTA has failed obviously but Root no longer there. Should I just re-root for him to get root again or is there anything else I shoukd do?

Better flash new ROM (same you got with OTA) and then Root it, just to avoid dead lock.
Cool cheers man

you missed the wiping step so just do a reset
First things first, I am a Noob.. I have an ATT LG Thrill 4G that a friend has given me. It's hardlocked. I was told that rooting and flashing the ROM to Factory Origin, would remove the hardlock. However, I have tried every way mentioned in all the threads, tried SuperOneclick, Megatron, Unlock Root Pro and a few others. However, my phone just does not want to root.. Any help/sugestions would greatly be appreciated.

So now I'm getting notification of software update.... I'm scared to accept it and brick my phone.... Is it safe to accept the software or no?

I wouldn't ever flash an ota update. If you want to update just download rom from sammobile and update with pc odin.
