Hi Guys,
Just bought the HTC One Developer Edition, and was planning on putting the Google GE on there. But after reading some of the threads I'm planning on giving sense a try.
Can anyone recommend a Sense rom that is fairly fully functional without all the bloat? I want to try the stock rom, but don't want the kids features etc.
I looked through all the Roms and didn't find anything close to stock without all the bloatware.
Thanks in advance!

Maximus is pretty much stock without all the bloatware
You can use romcleaner to remove any bloated app in your opinion from any Rom, highly recommended!

Thank you all!!
I'll start with ARHD and move on from there!!

G'day guys,
Just wondering if it's possible to get HTC Apps to work on Google ION r1. Would pushing across the framework files from a Hero build be sufficient in getting the Apps to work?
I don't know if anyone has tried this before, I tried searching the forum but it kept returning nothing.
Much appreciated!
why would you push all the needed hero frameworks to get the apps to run? by then you would essentially have hero on your phone. if you really want the htc apps then flash a rogers rom.
Right-o. I just thought it would make a nice fast ROM since IONr1 is quite speedy, but I will check out the Rogers ROMs. Cheers.

i would go for enomther's rogers rom. it is probably the most up to date.
Hey there.
Was wondering if there is a 2.3.5 Rom around with Sense 3 BUT with the option of having the old Sense 2.1 lock screen. I have found some workarounds on other forums but they all have drawbacks like no caller ID or call answer functionality unless the phone is unlocked first . My phone is S-off and rooted and a close-to-stock Rom would be a plus.
Any recommendations or suggestions would be appreciated.
P.s. I have tried Widgetlocker and it doesn't cut it.
Try to instal custom rom. Look in development section, there are several 2.1 sense roms w/ features of 3.0 sense
BTW, widgetlocker is not the only lockscreen app. Try MiLocker for example

Thanks for your reply.
I have searched through the ROM section but haven't managed to find anything suitable. Are there any ROMs you would recommend?

I have three questions I was hoping you guys could help me out with in regards to AOSP roms:
1. What is the safest installation method coming from Sense based rom (I see this varies a bit from thread to thread.)
2. After flashing AOSP and wanting to restore a nandroid of Sense are there any special instructions?
3. Highly subjective question: what do you feel is a combination of the most stable and well supported AOSP rom currently out?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I know there are a handful of you guys that can offer some insight. C'mon guys, I'm AOSP phobic. I need some assurance that it's safe to take the plunge.
Sent from my HTC ONE which so far seems like a big downgrade from my Note 2!
1. Click wipe in twrp and swipe. Do not set any custom settings just use default.
2. The only issue is AOSP creates a 0 folder due to the multiple user accounts in 4.2.2. This will mess up your TWRP by hiding backups and new downloads in Sense based roms. Sense downloads things to root/download and if twrp detects a 0 folder it will try amd load everything from 0. This isnt a big deal as you can always copy everything from 0 folder onto root and delete the 0 folder. This will make TWRP read from root of sdcard.
3. Ive always been partial to CM. They seem to be the closest to stock you can get without tweaks and stuff added in.

I haven't been able to get an AOSP-based ROM like CM working on my Sprint One at all yet. If I load any of them I can't wake the screen once the device is locked. I'm still running a stock ROM with a custom kernel until I can figure out what's going on.
Yeah, so far, I haven't found an AOSP ROM worth staying with. They're all somewhat buggy and as mentioned, the 4.1 > 4.2 causes issues. Painful ones.

Rootbox
Have you guys tried the Vanilla Rootbox Rom? I'm currently using it and I'm enjoying it. It seems to be a lot closer to stock android but w/a lot of options. Off the top of my head, everything works currently.

Thanks, I'm debating between Vanilla and Slim
I wanted to try Slim as well but I couldn't get it to boot. I ended up running out of time to figure it out and went back to Vanilla. The only 2 notable glitches are no wifi tether and there's a green hue on the ffc. I'm going back and forth between that and Viper Rom when I need the better camera quality.
I bought this 32 GB HTC One T-Mobile phone which is unlocked, and will be here in a few days. It IS an M7, right? It has rooted stock firmware (not sure if Sense or AOSP) but will probably flash a custom ROM. I read up on the Google Edition bootloader/recovery, and read Vomer's guide as well. I'm not sure if I need to do the whole GE process before I flash a GE ROM, or which GE/AOSP ROM I should go with. It seems like most of them are Sense, so which ones are AOSP?
The one original android development forum is the asop Roms .
There are GE versions that will work with your current setup. The only reason to "convert to the GE version is for official ota updates.

The what? Oh, you mean the ORIGINAL One forums has AOSP ROMs? How do you tell the difference between the original One and the 2013 model?
How often are there OTA updates? Those are usually compiled into current custom ROMs, right?
In the case of the HTC One, would Sense be better over AOSP (not just because of the camera)? It would seem there are more Sense-based ROMs than AOKP/AOSP ones. I also see a few Sense/GE ROMs. What exactly does that mean? Is it just Sense with the additional AOSP settings and options? If I wanted the best camera, should I just stick with Sense?

There is a android dev and there is an original dev. Read up on the stickies and you'll get an explanation, after you read ask questions with direction so users won't have to type up 2-3 paragraphs explaining everything out .

Stock Sense 5 is very good. You can try AOSP ROMs and see if you don't miss the Sense features. The camera app has been ported to AOSP if I remember well so you don't loose Zoe/Highlights.
I'm stock and haven't planned on going o AOSP or other custom ROMs because I'm more than happy with Sense 5, except some things here and there, but the same can be said about any other ROM. the one thing I change was the launcher. It's good, but not as flexible as Nova, specially for adding more columns/rows to home screens.
hi,
I just made the switch from my old galaxys to the one. Naturally I firstly want to get rid off all the bloatware and get a clean Android phone without sense. Checking out the various options, I noticed, that apparently some HTC features, like Beats support and the image chip will not work anymore on a custom rom. Is that true for all roms or are there any 4.4.2 CR or GPE roms, that include these features?
Thank you guys
Tobi
Well, on CM roms you won't have all the thing that sense have like beats, zoe, browser etc etc.
On a GPE rom you have the beats equalizer but not the zoe and all other thing.
If you're looking to get rid of the bloatware and keep other features look for roms that do just that, there are lots of GPE roms that keep most of the other HTC One features.
if you're looking for a rom that is not bloated but still keep some of the best features of sense.. try eragon.. i have used it on my one x before.. though im just having some small issues with the latest release but i know its just a weird issue im going thru.. but that rom is a good rom try to check out their thread in android dev section..
