I am having the same issue, using winamp for playing music. Notifications come through, but no sound is played. Music doesn't even pause, like nothing ever happened.
Also using Viper Rom on my Sprint HTC One.

The stock Music player on the xoom has an interactive notification, as I am sure you all know, where you can control your music while its playing in the background with the little headphones icon at the bottom of the screen. Since the beginning of owning the xoom I have experianced this icon randomly disappearing from the notification bar and not coming back sometimes even after restarting the app.
Does anyone else get this? If so, anyone know a solution?
Ok I get it. Apparently its not a topic of interest. ...just kidding (well sort of)
But really can anyone at least say if they also get this problem from time to time? Iam just curious.

I experience this bug as well. In fact, I am listening to music right now and the notification controller is missing. I am on an Asus Transformer though..

all you have to do is go back into the music player then hit the home button and it should appear, annoying but it works
i get the complete opposite of this. my music icon (aka the headphones) will randomly appear when im not listening to music. it's only started since i flashed my canadian xoom with the US 3.1 firmware

Dear all,
Since I have my XZ (say since March), I'm using PowerAmp as music player.
One of the features I like most, is the "rich" notifications. When the music is playing, if you roll down the "notification center" there is something like the powerAmp widget displaying the cover of the album, the title of the song, and the play/ pause, next buttons.
I don't know why, but now i can not have access to this functionnality.
It seems that this feature disepears for me with the last update. but I can not be sure as in the same time I changed my ROM for the eXistenZ 4.3.5, and played a bit with de DPI.
I've resetted my changes with the DPI and the problem is still there...
Am I the only one? Someone have a solution?? this feature was really usefull while using the GPS!
Thanks
Hello.
I've been using an app in my androidphone "Metafy" that shows track and artist on my pebble when using spotify. Since the latest update of Spotify this does not work any more. Any one have the same problem?

Found an alternative app for sending Spotify info to the Pebble music controller that seems to work.
(BTW I'm using galaxy s3 and liquid smooth ROM 4.4.2).
why don't you share what you found as an alternative?
Alternative app
I use Media Utilities. It works with Spotify and Podcast (and possibly more).
The disadvantage is, that it needs notification access to read out the current track/podcast. Additionally the user interface is a little odd and buggy.
But it works and nothing bad has happened yet.
...yay, can't post links as a newbie, but I bet you can find it yourself in the Play store ( com.batescorp.notificationmediacontrols.alpha )

Sorry I forgot to put that in there. It was not a good solution anyways it was a strange app that constantly increased the volume.
Tried Media Utilities as posted above and it works!
It does not show Album though.
In the app I added spotify, and then in settings under Application Integration i checked the marker next to Pebble Watch.
Use Music Boss to fix this, and you'll also gain the best watch app for Pebble as a bonus n

Hi all, received my Nexus 6 today and all is OK apart from having no sound for the default Facebook notification. I've checked the settings and the default "Facebook Pop" sound is selected. Investigating a bit further, I've found that playing the associated .m4a for this sound doesn't work properly, either - it plays but is completely silent. All other notifications play correctly.
The same facebook pop .m4a plays fine on my wife's Note 4, and other .m4a's play OK on the Nexus 6. So, I guess my question is - anybody else having the same issue?
I'm running stock, but with chainfire root and TWRP, not that this should make any difference?
Thanks...
I don't have this problem so maybe it's a software issue. Just try another rom.
Having converted it to MP3 it works fine. How odd.
Had the same issue, thanks for the tip!
Thanks! This hadnt work for me for ages. I had resorted to downloading from Zedge.
Mine is silent too. I don't care but I thought it was odd.

Exactly the same problem here too, using a Nexus 6. Rooted but with stock recovery. I can select all other notification tones via the Facebook app and they work fine. Facebook Pop is silent though. A wipe of the app data, full uninstall and reinstall didn't help either.

I extracted the file, converted it from m4a to mp3 using an online converter and then pushed it back to the notifications folder. The new file was selectable but I still had the same problem where the notification wasn't audible

This is what I did in the end. Downloaded the mp3 from Zedge, copied it to my notifications folder and then selected it as the notification tone in the Facebook app settings. That seems to have done the trick.
All very peculiar.
It's because of the ascending tone settings built into the phone. The "POP" happens to early. The one from Zedge has a bit of silence before it, hence why it works.
