Tablet UI on 4.2.2, CM10.1 - Nexus 7 General

I've had a look around online for am easy way to get the tablet UI on my device without modifying the DPI but can't seem to find anything. I want to keep my ROM (sentinel ROM) so am after a flashable .zip or any other simple way to gain this. Does anyone know how I can?

Not extremely simple but also not too difficult, if it works...
You can try the Xposed framework and the Xposed tabletUI module. Both available here at XDA. Warning it didn't work for me on stock ROM.
There's also a flashable zip to enable it for the stock ROM over in the Nexus 7 applications subforum. I know it says it will work on other ROMs but I don't remember if CM was one mentioned. That one did work for me with the stock ROM.

[Q] Zip Porting

I'd like to create a stock based version of cyanogenmod for people with locked bootloaders. I've done a bit of research and was wondering if zip porting it would work?
I'm assuming that there would be some problems with the cyanogen mod settings and the theme chooser.
So would zip porting work?
Thanks, I appreciate all feedback

It COULD work since we have CWM, TWRP, and init.d, but it would require massive porting skills (which I don't have).
Kudos to you if you succeed though

You "may" get CM10 working. No hope of CM10.1. Even with CM10 it would take significant knowledge of both CM and the system to get it working.
ZIP porting most certainly will NOT work.

[Request]pa halo for stock

Hi I'm requesting pa halo for stock ROM as I see its open sourced know so I'm wondering if someone would be able to bake it into the stock ROM?
Sent from my LT30p using Tapatalk 4 Beta
Not so sure that can be ported as it may need PA/CM kernel. (But I am no expert on that)
In the mean time you can use this app which I have been using for a long time. Its similar but NOT the same as halo
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...yLDEsInJvYmouZmxvYXRpbmcubm90aWZpY2F0aW9ucyJd
you can also see the original thread on xda here and from there find the theme thread to go with it.

No you wouldn't need kernel since its just framework mods it could be modded in and yeah I've had that app since it was in alpha Lol that ks tho!!!!!)))
Sent from my LT30p using Tapatalk 4 Beta
well if its just framework mods there is a possibility now that there is a thread explaining how to recompile framework-res.apk without bootloops...
There is somewhere one indeed, if I have time I may implement it in my ROM .

Rom tweaking app..

So I have this phone for a month now and have been trying roms... So if someone could help me here with a question. Is viperOne the only rom with a tweak app? Cause all other roms need to do stuff in aroma which is kinda boring and might cause problems..

Have you tried installing the xposed framework? Some nifty mods you can add with that.
Sent from my HTC One using xda premium
Arhd has the sense 5 toolbox, gharrington also offers 3minit framework mods, seems like it's just getting started on the One, but on the s4 the options are unlimited

Viper is the best for Tweaking atm.
Because with a click you can tweaks all you want.
The toolbox need a flash from recovery, and if you don't like some thing, you have to reflash.
The xposed framework is another solution, but there isn't all the option that Viper give

The Sense 5 toolbox is installed as any other apk... it does not need to be flashed in recovery!
It is an Xposed module and like any other changes are made by selecting/deselecting options and any number of changes can be made without any need for re-flashing or re-installing.
Please don't provide the wrong information to other users.... as an RC you should know better.
Ok thanks for your opinions
I'll stick with viperOne which has basically anything a user can need.

Sorry, when i saw it, i saw a zip file, so, maybe i'm remebering wrong
And, however, the toolbox have a fewer number of tweaks

[Q] Exposed framework

Hi all, I've just upgraded from a Galaxy Nexus to the nexus 6 (what a difference!) and I'm having trouble getting xposed to work.
I've tried it on PA alpha and Euphoria ROM, with stock / lean kernel and followed fixes here:
http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/nexus-6-ho...tallation-errors-list-working-modules-1488930
But I'm not having any luck.
I'm next going to try a 5.1 ROM with init.d, but I don't have a lot of time to mess around with my phone today - I'd love to hear from anyone with xposed running and what combo of ROM / kernel you're using.
Cheers!
Ross

5.1 for not work with xposed.
K,
Both the ROMs I've tried so far were 5.0 based I believe... Should I be able to get xposed working with a stock 5.0 ROM / kernel?
Sent from my Nexus 6 using XDA Free mobile app
Might want to look here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3030220
I got it working with 5.0.2. Even after installing leankernel you have to use the lkconfig options to turn selinix to permissive. Then flash the xposed zip. Details are in the leankernel thread on using lkconfig.
Yeah the guide I found in op goes through a lot of this. Looking at the xposed thread, I think I'm using the wrong framework zip / apk!
Thanks for your help, I'll reply when I have some time to test

Got a n6 yesterday! What's every ones fav ROM?

So I picked up a nexus 6 yesterday on amazon unlocked in cloud white. Using it on tmobile.
What is everyone's favorite ROM and why?
What other mods do you suggest to make it perform better on tmobile as it doesn't seem to get the same data speeds as my LG G3.. Files seem slower to upload and download.
So far I'm loving how Smooth it is, and getting used to its size.

There are many great ROMs here. Go to the development forums and look for yourself. Read the OP's and pick one that has the features you desire. Try it, and if you don't like it, try another.
That's the beauty of nexus development.

Xposed Instructions
ONLY FOR NEXUS 6
I take no responsibility yada yada yada.
Nand Backup before proceeding if you haven't already. And I've always done it on a fresh clean install nothing else. After booting system for the 1st time not the same flash session.
Using latest TWRP, Unlocked bootloader, rooted.
1. Install the apk I attached.
2. Open it to make sure the app works.
3. Boot into recovery flash the .zip attached.
4. Reboot to system
5. Open the app to verify under modules section
Now Xposed works.
Tried on Chroma, DU, and Euphoria works perfect. Not tried anything else tho. Won't work unless 5.1.1 I believe

Pure nexus ROM. Perfection.
I have tried many Roms but the experience has always been traumatic.
I have been running Euphoria-OS for about a month and half now and it does make the phone feel the way it should have been since the beginning.

The N6 works fine, but uses a lot of energy
After trying some Roms I am back to stock and changed only things about energy consumption.
1. Flashing Franco' s kernel (default settings).
2. Black wallpaper (app No Wallpaper).
3. Change wifi-interval to 200 (build.prop editor).
4. Flashed black google now launcher (XDA thread)
5. Disabled services ( XDA Guide to disable Google play services; app 3C Toolbox).
6. Installed app Pixel Battery Saver.
7. Installed app Greenify.
8. Disabled not used apps.
9. Clean Manager to block most apps to auto start.
10. Replace apps with a white background

Default. Mako build is for better tweaking. Try default. If you want better battery life tweak to your liking. I following Mike on YouTube lol and he has some great tips

Is there a slimrom or clean rom that will work with the US Cellular version of the Nexus 6?
