I downloaded ROM Toolbox Pro, and installed a boot animation. Upon restarting, I became stuck in a boot loop that toggled back and forth between Corn Kernel's screen and the AT&T logo screen. I CAN get into CWM, however I cannot wipe all data. Of course I tried "install update.zip", reformatting, wipe dalvik cache, etc. I then installed Legend's KK4 Rom onto my SD Card and tried to flash that, but it won't install, keeps saying "Installation Aborted". I ALSO can connect my phone to my laptop with no issues, but I'm not sure what to do from there.
I am perfectly willing to flash back to stock, but I cannot wipe all data. Is Odin Master Clear my only hope? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated at this point, as I have tried everything in the CWM menu and do not know what else to do.
Does anyone have any suggestions? I have searched this forum thoroughly, as well as Google. Just need a little guidance. Please, any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
You should be able to grab a stock ROM and flash it. No need for Master clear, the flashing of the stock ROM should take care of it.
Thank you, I'll try that now.
Hi folks,
I tried updating my S plus to ICS today by following the instructions listed here:
theandroidsoul.com/galaxy-s-plus-i9001-ice-cream-sandwich-update-install-cyanogenmod-9-cm9-pretty-good-and-working-rom
I read through the instructions and it looked pretty simple. I successfully installed Team Win recovery, performed a backup, wiped, and then installed the CM9 rom.
After the installation, the phone just boots back into Team Win recovery. I tried reverting to the backup, but it still just boots to recovery every time.
Now that I'm stuck in TeamWin recovery, I'm at a loss on what to try next .
Does anyone have any insight on how I can fix the problem?
Thanks,
Evan
Sometimes when you flash new Recovery (usually when replacing stock recovery with modified recovery for the first time) you get stuck at bootloop. It means /boot partition was damaged. After flashing TWRP did you restart your phone and it booted correctly, or did you install everything (TWRP, got backup, wipe and install new ROM) at once?

So is reflashing in Odin what you are suggesting? Sorry if I'm misunderstanding.
And yes, after I flashed TWRP it booted fine, the 2nd time I went into recovery, performed the backup, wiped, then flashed the rom. I've tried wiping both the cache's with no success. I've also tried reflashing the rom, wiping the cache's, restoring with the backup, wiping cache's again... nothing seems to be working
What would be different if I had installed everything (TWRP, backup, wipe, rom) at the same time?
*Edit* Reflashed through Odin and it worked great! Thanks for the help, I'm a little scared to start messing with the phone again, but ICS is tempting...
Got the rom working with a fresh backup after fixing the bootloop. Thanks again for the link divibyzero, the troubleshooting steps solved the problem, whatever it was, and now its running ICS
These Samsungs S+'s seem to be a little more finiky than my HTC.

You didn't specify, so I'll assume you have an i9001, if this is not the case, you probably shouldn't follow these instructions
Just reflash the bootloader as explained here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=24831012&postcount=1330) and you'll be fine. I had the exact same problem when I had installed CWM on my own device. It's not with adb, but it's not like you have to do a lot of effort to get Odin or anything and it will fix your device.

You must properly install Samsung mobile drivers on your PC, kill Samsung Kies process (or even better: uninstall Kies) and enable USB debugging on your phone. Then it will work.

The problem was that I was using Windows 8. I was able to resolve the issue after doing it on Windows XP.
Hi everyone, I´ve read all of the posts relating to stuck at boot, but there´s no problem like the one I´m having.
First I installed a safe firmware so I can then install Live Note ROM, everything worked fine but after a day of use it restarted for no reason and got stuck at boot like if it was a bad flash. Then I thought maybe it was the ROM, so I installed another one, this time SuperBean v1.3.1 XXLT4 and again everything worked fine until after two days it froze and restarted and now I´m stuck at boot again, I know that I can flash again and it will work, but this should not happen. Just to clarify it doesn´t loop in boot it´s tuck at the Yellow triangle and won´t do anything after that, I can get into recovery and do all things before boot, but it doesn´t start the ROM installed in the memory ever again.
I´ve been flashing since HTC Magic and I have a Nexus 4 with a custom ROM without any problems like this, would anyone know whats going on, or someone have a similar problem?
did you do a thorough wipe before installing the new rom?

Yes I followed all the instructions, the thing is that everything works fine for a day or two and then after a random restart it won´t boot again, this problem did not happen after a flash.
try flasing a stock JB rom.. make sure you format system, data cache & preload .. then boot inot download mode and flash stock jb rom. any region rom should do.
Hi,
- Le 2 X526
- Phone is rooted
I am unable to flash any ROM via TWRP. I've tried multiple ROMs and the phone gets stuck and just restarts midway during flashing (happens during /system extraction).
The issue was happening even with stock ROM which is why I did a factory reset assuming things will be fine. Currently, I have wiped everything via TWRP and the system is empty.
Note: I get a bluescreen for a split second after which the phone restarts.
Please help.
first tell these thing..
which eui version u were using..??
which twrp version you are using
which rom u tried first...?
and was it running or it was also giving bootloop???
Hi,
I was using 5.8.019S (Rooted)
TWRP 3.1.0
The phone was randomly rebooting since 2 days with increasing frequency, which is why I decided to do a factory reset.
But after factory reset the phone was only in bootloop. After this I wiped all partitions and tried to install a ROM.
I've tried AOSP, Lineage, Small EUI and Validus - Same problem in all (TWRP gets stuck halfway during installation and reboots)
Note: I am wiping all partitions before installation.

I am aware of that, but I am unable to install any ROM now. It just gets stuck halfway and phone reboots.
I wonder if the memory has gotten damaged/corrupted.
Can anyone help please...
How about trying an older version of TWRP?
I think the partition table is corrupted. Can someone help me repartition it using adb and gparted?

Hi, I'm new to this, could you help me?
I had a Moto E5 Play Pettyl, with custom recovery (TWRP).
I was testing ROMS and then I went back to the STOCK ROM, the problem is that it freezes at the logo, I had to install the stock rom from the pc because it gave me errors when installing it with TWRP (when installing the stock rom the recovery was installed original). I have tried some solutions but none works for me, such as wipe cache partition, start it in factory mode, or factory reset.
If you help me to install the STOCK ROM without problems it would be of great help
Hello, I also have this terminal (XT 1920-18). could you tell me the tutorial you followed to be able to be root user? what were the roms you tried? because I haven't found any, only variants and I really didn't dare to make modifications for the same reason. Apparently there is no development for this phone, I didn't even find a tutorial for debloater that inspires me the confidence to try it without having negative results. Thanks in advance
