Hi,i have owned an Ion b4 and flashed the cybershot mod, its wonderful. Especially the fix for 100% pic quality.
Just wonder if i could flash it on my Xperia Z? Will the images be better?

A wonderful camera mod for xperia 2012 devices
There's a CyberShot mod for the XT,which also runs JB, and has a 13MP camera, so if you were to test a CyberShot mod, I'd say that is the most likely to work...

It wont work, different sensors and other different things. Also why to flash the things that you already have ?

Just tried it on my stock rooted jb Xperia t. It doesn't work.
Files are too outdated? Lol
Thanks for trying ot out, hopfullly the cybershot mod would be available for xperia Z soon..
Add this line to your build.prop
ro.media.enc.jpeg.quality=100
You will have 100% quality.
Cybershot is just a new icon and doesn't give anything more or better, it's a placebo. The Xperia Z has already the best app and libs.

i experience very high batt drain when adding ro.media.enc.jpeg.quality=100 in built probs.
Any one experience these too?
I know rizal, the cybershot dev, I've already asked him. He might make the cybershot mod when he has time

I've tried this and it's nonsense. Burst mode photo's are awful and aren't useable.
In good light conditions, Burst pics are the best ones because there is not post-processing (no antialias, no noise reduction). But ONLY in very good light conditions.
Indoors, or when the light is not the best (very cloudy day, evening, etc), burst mode is very noisy because the camera has to elevate the ISO level too much.
Cybershot mod from the ion works well on tx..tested and it worked. But i would love to change the name of my camera to "cybershot" on my xperia z. got any ideas?

Makes no difference on my phone whatsoever. Neither in Superior Auto mode nor in Normal mode. Image quality stays the same, as does file size.
No chnage in image quality

Battery drains alot

I had xperia P befor buying my new xperia V, but biw I'm so disappointed with the camera of XV, bcoz XP got soo thick and suoerb quality 8mpxl camera. Our XV git 13mpxl but when comparing this two phones camera XP is the best. What you think about this XV camera?

Complain to Sony
Nobody here can make it better
Its putrid quality
Turn off intelligent auto its awful. Managing setting according to situation under normal mode makes a huge difference. The camera can be really good.

Normal Mode...play with iso and measurement and resolution...maybe disable image stabilizer...check the white balance settings too
if you want good pictures, dont use auto mode (i use that only for qick shots)

The settings depend on your shot your taking. Just remember to use a high enough ISO to freeze motion in your image. DO NOT BE AFRAID OF NOISE! It looks better than blur. I never ever leave my iso on auto.
I'm really not liking the camera app Sony has provided for this otherwise spectacular camera. Has anyone else managed to find a better app for this phone?

yes, the option is there in preferences - flash --> auto, on, off.

FX Camera and Camera Zoom FX are different apps...
The Focal Beta does look quite good as well, can't say anything about picture quality yet.
It can be downloaded directly from the playstore!
Perfectly Clear works perfect .
Fotor, once my favourite, crashes on Z1.
Depends on preferences:
Camera FV-5 is pretty advanced and nice
Focal has good potential and looks nice
Procam is working fine...
Wish SuperCamera was working properly, older version does start but the settings don't seem to always do much...
when Note 3 with same CPU can have Video Recording why cant a camera centric Z1 have.. is there is a chances we will have 4k recording

I don't think so - I'd say it's about software and bandwidth and codecs. if it was camera driver, then other camera apps on Note 3 would allow to record video in 4K, and as far as I know they don't do that, so...
so potentially, someone can make an app with 4k recording and brute for it to work? Or a 8MP recording and downsample to 1080p video, still a huge quality boost.

No, it is a camera photography app, sorry to confuse I was referring to the second part of imranaryan's post. For 4k to be enabled the codecs drivers etc would need to be implemented by Sony unless someone can hack this
Maybe Sony will give 4k recording along with kitkat update.....maybe.....I really trust in the potentially of this phone and on the efforts of Sony to give us a very good product which actually is.....

i know the was rumours before the z1 was officially announced but i havent heard anything from Sony about it.
basically all ive seen was a supposedly leaked pic of what was then the Honami phone with a sticker on it saying 4k.
i wouldve thought if Sony was planning on implementing 4k into the z1 they wouldve announced something by now in an attempt to get more interest in the z1. why keep a major selling point quiet?
the fact that theyve said nothing makes me think its not coming to z1 and possibly be saved for the z2.

Hello guys I was planning to buy Nexus 5 but then I realized that I couldn't live without SONY so now I'm planning to buy Xperia Z1, so here is my question. I suppose that all of you know the third party camera app called ProCaptureCamera which is most awesome out there, so I'm interested if in options you still can select 20MP resolution and option to crop it to 16:9 / 16:10

To be more accurate, other third party camera apps don't have ISO settings available either.
To be even more accurate ISO settings are available on non SONY rom, for example everything works on Cyanogen Mod
