Just turn off usb debugging and use root explorer to change the name of superuser to something else like su or sup and it should work.

Uh honestly I'm not a noob and I'm not new to android and rooting. Kernels and all that. But this nexus one I can't find anything to root it on 2.3.3. I tried adb. I tried unlocking my boot loader to load cwm on it. Nothing. Any help?

Have you tried SuperOneClick?
Yeah it force closes.

I even tried running it on Compatibility mode and ran by admin.

Or else use the passimg method

If you got a command error, then there's something wrong with the command you entered, not with the phone. Most likely a typo, or file location problem...
Try again, and post the error...

The answer is No because of the locked bootloader.

To the OP, when they hack the bootloader on our phones we can then start using custom recoveries and ROMs. Nothing but root until then.

Unless Hashcode gets safestrap working then we can flash custom roms but being restricted to the stock kernel. Well, there is a chance for kernels to but this is all still in its infancy.

Okay so do this then, make sure you use a sense based rom -just in case-, and then push the revone binary to whatever the folder was in the guide, and chmod it to 755, thats crucial. Then use the prepare command from the binary, reboot, and then try to s-off with the binary.
Just to make sure, do you know how to use ADB and ADB push?
Yes I do I get error -2 all the time

Try this link below. I tried getting s off on my pc with revone but kept getting an error. Used terminal emulator and it worked easily.

Not possible at all...
Open up the toaster and inside there should be a recovery mode switch, you then need to push the too key two times and then push down the handle on the side, this will wipe the toaster clean, after that I shall provide you with more steps.

We have no root for 4.4.2 at the moment and you cannot flash back to 4.3 due to locked bootloaders. :banghead:
