I know you can use a PS3 or 360 controller on the Nexus 7, but I'm looking for a type of clip that will attach the tablet to a controller. Are there any good ones that are compatible with the Nexus 7 2nd Gen?
EDIT: Sorry, didn't realize there was a forum specifically for the 2013 Nexus 7. Wrong section.

Just order one Nokia BT headset (BH-111) for Nexus 7. It is nice product and cheap.
I get one mini BT keyboard+mouse, so I use the box of BH-111 to make one dock for Nexus 7 and this keyboard set.
Hope that is a good idea to use your box to make dock for Nexus 7.
Nice that it's cheap, but made for the wrong decade.

Hi guys and gals,
I stumbled upon this few minutes ago:
http://www.anandtech.com/show/6499/...ix-slimport-microusb-to-hdmi-and-vga-adapters
It is written that Nexus 4 supports this. But, is it possible to get it working on a Nexus 7? Is there any additional hardware in the N4 that is needed to support this?
Thanks!

This is not possible with the nexus 7. The nexus 4 indeed has additional hardware to enable this feature that the 7 lacks.
The Nexus 7 doesn't have MHL support for this to be possible. The Nexus 4 on the other hand does so that's why it can be used. If I recall correctly the Nexus 7 can't put out any form of video to be broadcasted onto another screen/monitor/tv)

This is not MHL. The lack of MHL on the N7 is well-known. The slimport tech is quite new, and the info on anandthech left the impression that the tablets/phones implement it on a software level. Oh well, a man can dream. :silly:
You already have a thread that addresses this question?
So for University I was planning to buy an ultrabook but to save money, I will probably use my Nexus 7, since I am only typing notes.
I have read online that there are a few keyboards that are designed for nexus 7. I was wondering if I get a usb-to-microusb
converter, will my keyboard work for the nexus 7? Or would a regular Bluetooth keyboard work with Nexus 7?
The keyboards made for tablets just seem too small for me.

bluetooth would probably be your best bet. why attach wires when you can go wireless
I got this keyboard
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Wireless-Bluetooth-Keyboard-Google-Tablet/dp/B009SL3WS4/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1356522230&sr=1-1
works pretty well for what you may need it for...
Hey guys I was just wondering If anyone has found a good keyboard/case with an inbuilt battery like how the Asus Transformer series have. When the keyboard dock is plugged into that device it extends the battery life of the tablet..any such product for the N7?
Thanks for the replies! Were helpful. I'll have been looking at otg cables before but was unsure.
They are pretty cheap on amazon so I guess I'll just order one.
Hey y'all
The Nexus 7 is a great gaming device, you all probably know that already.
But what I'm looking for, is a gamepad that basically wraps around the device.
I'm sure it's possible as it could be connected to the Micro USB port on one side, yet I haven't seen one for the Nexus 7.
It would make the Nexus 7 look a lot like the Archos Gamepad:

Or the WiiU controller. Having dual analog sticks on the sides.
Do any of you know about one? Have I perhaps missed one?
I can't be the only one wondering about this!
My first thought:
Whow! How cool is that!!!
Second: you bought a state of the art device with a super modern touchscreen! How could you use this one? Go with Nintendo
Anyway back to topic, never seen something like that!

How cool would it be to have the Nexus 7 and this gamepad with you all the time, and whenever you feel like it you could snap it on and play away?!
Answer: very cool.
And that's why I'm looking for one. I need the whole to be one piece. I don't want a separate gamepad where I have to put my Nexus 7 on the table or anything. And I also want dual analog sticks :3
a side clip on gamepad would be awesome. Something like the razer tablet
Okay so i've been trying to look up some information about this and i've heard many mixed experiences
If i purchased this cable
- http://www.amazon.com/Micro-Cable-P..._9?ie=UTF8&qid=1383421001&sr=8-9&keywords=otg
Would it be possible to use both slimport and OTG at the same time
One guy in the comments said it worked on his Nexus 7 but would that same method work on this phone
Id love to be able to use my lapdock for something other than my raspberry pi
Anybody at all?
I really don't think it will be possible, from what I've read on Nexus 4 forum.

The problem with the nexus 4 was that the usb port didnt put out enough current to support it but i read that a guy with the 2013 model of the nexus 7 managed to pull it off
I think it really comes down to what the current over OTG is on the G2
I think the nexus 4 only output 300 mA but i could also be wrong
My G2 is currently shattered due to falling off the table so im waiting until i get my replacement to test it myself

OTG + Slimport, Its actually one of the comments on the amazon page for that cable, thats why i question it
If there is enough power to support OTG then slimport should work because i believe that slimport is powered over HDMI
