It'll probably depend on the ROM but there might be issues

There seem to be three readily available radios for the AHD: Mexico retail, Bell retail, and ATT retail.
You can try all three and see which works best for you. Flashing a custom rom does not change the radio.
To make things easier for yourself, unlock the bootloader and install CWM. Unlocking the bootloader will void your warranty according to Motorola.

thank you will try

I'm using Holoblur with no issues & have 4G LTE coverage in Chicago

I have used the Bell, Stock At&T and Mexican Retail with T-Mo with no issues whatsoever.
To get LTE working you need to set the correct APN search for my post in the HoloBlur ROM

ashoply saw
Currently on holoblur, but i tried a few others like uxylon, cm10.1, beanstalk, PAC, Carbon are all working with 4G LTE (Los Angeles area).
Can't get SLIM and another one.. just can't remember.. they had the same issue of no signal and can't get past the initial screen because of no internet for t-mobile.

ME863 radio CM9

So I flashed my ME863 to a brazilian retail XT860 rom in order to install CM9 in safestrap. However I lost my connection, no gsm. I discovered too that when I choose a radio mode in the menus, it auto selects the next one instead of the one I chose (not sure how to explain, maybe a bug?). I tried to flash willis11's old data patch aswell, but then the phone would get stuck at the CM9 bootup screen. Any suggestions?
Is it possible the "old" Willis patch you used was made for gingerbread (not ics)?

Tried it with the 'new' patch too. Same result. Thought the kexec cm9 had gsm umts native support?
Is the new one you tried the one from here http://dl.hash-of-codes.com/ROMs/solana/cm9/ ?

No it wasn't! It was from an old thread I found. Will try to flash it tomorrow. I will report back!
Edit: got radio working, max of 2 radio bars though. I think it's just visual bug?

Your ME863, is it from Asia region like Hong Kong or Taiwan??
Is the signal greatly improved after flashing to Brazilian Rom?
I have an ME863 from Hong Kong and signal strength is very disappointing. Afraid to flash it to Brazilian Rom and bricking it.
Hope you can enlight me pls. Thanks
The two bars thing is a bug indeed.

Does ALL atrix hd's work completely in both T-Mobile and AT&T?

Maybe a bit of a noob question but I just want to make sure. Does every single version of the Atrix HD sold (AT&T, T-Mobile, International) support all three of these:
AT&T 4G
AT&T HSPA+
T-Mobile HSPA+
Unlocking
Rooting
Thanks!

The Atrix HD on AT&T (when SIM unlocked) has working HSPA+ on T-Mobile, I am using it now. You cannot unlock it's bootloader, but you can root it thanks to Djrbliss.

Thanks! Some more questions:
Is it possible to SIM unlock yourself once you have achieved root?
What is the jellybean leak people are talking about? I thought one cannot install custom roms if you cannot unlock the bootloader?
And, if no way to install a recovery, how do you recalibrate your battery when required? The play store app? Which one exactly?

I have only seen (and have) the AT&T Atrix HD and I know Bell has it in Canada. Can you post references to a T-Mobile or international Atrix HD?

Way too many questions that are answered
AT&T model has a Jellybean leak, read about it in the threads.
You can install custom rom(s) through Safestrap Recovery 3 by Hashcode. It doesn't require an unlocked bootloader, just root.
I don't do battery re calibrating?
I've bought Bell one, I rooted already with djrbliss's motofail2go. Is this Bell's the international version? So, there is 4 AHD versions: AT&T, Bell, T-Mobile and the International?
And why Razr HD does already has recovery and AHD being older doesn't have?
You haven't been reading enough then. We have recovery also.

I don't believe there are T-Mobile and International versions.
As of this post there are AT&T and Bell variants. There is a Dev Edition coming "soon."
Does the Atrix HD get TMO 42MB/s HSPA+ or 21MB/s HSPA+?

From what I understand they are cross compatible. I flashed the T-Mo stock rom onto my unlocked At&t Note since I use T-Mobile for my service which allows wifi calling.

1st post after years of lurking:
My i717 is an unlocked ATT and rooted - to run on Tmo. I wonder if the rom (bloated as it may be comparred to the ROM I'm using) will install well on my 1+yr old ATT model. I suppose only one way to tell. (crossing fingers).
Anyone tried to see if nfc beam works by default on this updated / stock rom?

It will work on either unit. I currently am using an unlocked and rooted I717 and have run successfully both T-MO and AT&T ROM's.
I just need to get one that's not stock T-Mo to get the Wifi Calling working because I need it for my new place where I get NO reception LOL.

Xperia Z from Bell Canada (C6616)

Just picked up my Xperia Z from Bell - here's a little information on the device, as after searching for a while there doesn't seem to be much out there about this:
Model Number: C6616
Android Version: 4.1.2
Baseband Version: 9x15A-ACEFWMAZQ-30110041-32
Kernel Version: 3.4.0-g6df7905-02328-g70ed36a
Build: 10.1.1.A.1.319
Customization Version: 1275-6311_R2A
Also, rather unfortunately, the bootloader cannot be unlocked (according to the Service info > Configuration page).
Can you tell us if the screen is better? I saw some videos on the Bell website and it did look better. I was gonna go check out the Bell store today but didn't have time lol

I don't have a lot to go by in terms of better than other Xperia Z models, but compared to my SGS3 it looks much better and is actually visible in direct sunlight.
Have you tried rooting it and flashing a custom recovery?

Not yet - this is the first Sony device I've owned (used to Samsung devices and the various Nexus'), so I'm a little gun-shy regarding flashing things meant for different models.
Tried rooting it today and, as expected, it failed.
Use DooMLorD to root, I think it should be fine.
Would you be able to backup your rom to FTF file?
Here is the instruction to make ftf file of your rom.

The update made the screen look a lot better but that was with 253 version already and 4.2.2 made it even somewhat better again and camera too.

Tried Doomlord's without luck, but I didn't use the new method to flash the other kernel (was fairly unsure if I would soft-brick it). I'll follow that guide and post the resulting file, though.
FTF Bundle here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=44229119
Thank you very much for the ROM.

I flashed its baseband but it didn't work unfortunately.
This Rom only has band 4 LTE also even though Bell says it has AWS and 700.
It couldn't pick up t-mo LTE too.

For any other Bell users who are new to Xperia devices and unsure of flashing, I successfully flashed this 4.2.2 stock firmware using Flashtool (left FOTA, BASEBAND, and UNKNOWN unchecked). I had to add the Bell APN settings, but everything works!
Additionally, I rooted using this guide, but when I got to step 11, I reflashed the kernel from the first firmware image I linked instead.
So if I get this one, unlock it and flash standard firmware, can it be used with Rogers and its LTE?

Rogers and Bell both use the same LTE bands, so it should be good with the network unlock. Switching firmware is really only required for rooting/getting 4.2.2 at this time.

So bell's firmware is standard or it's a custom one with bell's apps per-intalled (aka you have to wait for them to release a new version 2-3 weeks after everyone else gets it)?
Bell's firmware has their apps, and is subject to their release schedule, but will work with other carriers - it's just the network lock that prevents you from using another carrier. However, if you're looking to root, or don't want the extra Bell branding in your face, switching firmware is a valid option.

Yeah I'm not a big fan of bell's branding tbh, because all my services are with rogers. But what is difference between 6606 and 6616, do you know by any chance? thx

Never used the 6606, or any of the other models. From the looks of things, though, it's a difference in basebands and supported frequencies.
laslow, I flashed baseband off the ftf file you posted, there is only band 4 LTE, not 700 (band 17) as stated on Bell website.

I'm not running it anymore so I can't verify, but that was the firmware bundle on the phone, fresh from the store.

Flashing T-mobile ROM onto AT&T Moto X

Hello all,
I flashed a T-mobile 4.4.4 ROM onto my AT&T 4.4.4 Moto X today to test it. I've since reverted back to my AT&T 4.4.4.
My question to you...is there any real benefit over the T-mobile ROM, other than little to no bloatware?
Pros, or Cons?
I found that my 4g LTE was working, and WiFi too. Everything seemed to work. IDK about Wi-Fi calling?
Thanks
Where did you find 4.4.4 for T-Mobile? I thought the latest was 4.4.3.
I flashed my brother's nandroid, and did a factory reset on it afterwards. It worked fine, but I want to know if there is any real benefit. :good:
Thanks
Was this to one with a locked bootloader? I'm assuming not.
I unlocked my bootloader on my XT1058...Just wanted to know if there were pros, or cons to using a T-mobile ROM on my AT&T X.
Would WiFi calling work? I'm assuming not, as it's based on carriers network, but I thought I'd ask.
Thanks!
