Then it's the radio. I can confirm this is the case. Before I downgraded I had dropping 4g signal and the speeds were 50% less, at the same location.
Yesterday I reverted back to 1.29 and I'm experiencing no 4g drops when moving in the train and I'm getting speeds up to 20mbps now.
Solution: s-off your phone and run the 1.29 ruu. I can guarantee better results if you started experiencing data issues lately

I was having this issue tons on the old radio, since updating to the 1.31 update radio, I get much better LTE/EVDO hand-off and more consistant reception.
The new radio is much better for me as well... the old radio refused to go from 3G to 4G even with a strong 4G signal present (a few hundred feet from the tower). The new one has been much more reliable for me. I can even use 3G in areas where it was previously not usable by me, and my calls no longer drop at home.
I guess it all depends on your location. I've had horrible experiences with it.

Out of curiosity, where are you located? In my area, Ericsson is doing the NV rollout. It might be that the old radio works better in Samsung or Alcatel-Lucent areas.

That's an Alcatel-Lucent area. I'm curious to see if there is a trend, but we wouldn't know until more people reply with their experiences.

How are you determining who is doing the update?
Radio images are very dependent on the area. We have only 2 to play with sadly.
Honestly, I would say reflash the radio.img from 1.31 (sorry idk the baseband number, too lazy to check phone). Did you flash all the other firmware bits as well? Perhaps you flashed a new ROM or even the stock ROM which writes to EPST. Many devs don't customize EPST settings on their stock-based ROMs and it can be simply a ##DATA# edit that could be causing issues / slowness. But if the radio reflash doesn't fix or improve anything, just flash the old radio. But again, radio depends on area for most things.

My favorite test spot, right here at my computer desk, has never yielded a variable response from the speed test app until I updated to Radio 5 last night. Not only did I pull 2.2MBPS, but it was consistently fast. As the night moved on, I got 2.5, 2.7, and 3.2. We actually tethered all three computers in my home to the phone and browsed at full speed!

Sweet i just flashed it using ROM Manager ill return with tests tomorrow.
do you just flash a radio update like a rom? is there any reason not to always use the latest radio?
Depending on the area that the OP lives in it could just be that
T-Mobile just switched on HSPA+ in that area
Which wouldn't have any regards to the radio version

I about broke my neck with this speed I got in downtown salt lake city. Normally it is less than 100, but today I tested at 500, then 1900 kbps, and now this. I'm stock everything.
I don't know if this is just coincidence or not, but I haven't had the wifi disconnect issue since updating to the 5/Korean radio...
where is the radio update?
As u know that with latest android update 4.2.2 Google turn off the lte access. No worries
It just the radios so just roll back to previous radios .33 or .24

I'm talking about the baseband update, not the actual 4.2.2 OS update. I've updated to 4.2.2 but downgraded the baseband, which has nothing to do with the media scanner bug.
I'm wondering what specific improvements/changes were made in the new baseband.

The network could quite easily lock out your phone at any time anyway, as each handset identifies itself on LTE, so they only have to put a block on N4 ID strings, if they wanted to and use the non-approved card...

I've noticed that yes the one switches between wifi/3g/4g much more smoothly, but also noticing it dropping those signals much more frequently too and struggling to reconnect if it drops it. As in, I can have a data connection, then none at all out of nowhere without moving, and a couple of minutes later it reconnects.
I was even just sitting here at home where I have full signal on wifi and saw it drop wifi too. This never happened on the previous base... Sigh... Nothing is ever perfect...

I've noticed that my phone is holding onto lte better inside today since the update. It was usually dropping to 3g once I started doing anything.
but it's ok to eat fish cause they don't have feelings.....
I'm dropping calls like crazy lately, but it really started before the update, so I can't say it's because of that.... Sprint really sucks lately, dropping calls left and right, signal dropping out all the time, and slower than slow 3g

Mine got better with the update. I can hold a call for over an hour in my house with 1 bar just like my old phone. before the update it would drop after 5-15 min. Also I am running into far less places where I simply can't use data despite having signal. I think there is still room for improvement.
When I first flashed the update everything seemed to working smoother and seemed to hold a better 4G signal. By the second day my WiFi would drop in and out, my 4G won't hold when I know have full 4G coverage. Sometimes I don't have a signal at all. Like that is my only pet peeve about this phone. What's the use of having the best phone if one of its primary functions doesn't work properly? I'm definitely looking to get something new at this point.

First, sorry if this has been asked to death. I did some searching and checked recommended posts and FAQs but nothing quite covered this...
I came from a Telus (Canada) ROM and flashed Android Revolution. Now, on Telus I'm pretty much always in 4G no matter what, never changes. Occasionally I'll skip up to LTE; at least according to the icons.
Anyway on this new ROM it's skipping all over from 3G to H to H+ to occasionally LTE. I heard rumblings that 4G is usually a buzzword companies use incorrectly due to a loophole, so is that what I am seeing here? Telus using 4G icon for the signal levels of 3G, H and H+?
Ideally I would like to change my icon set back to what it was, if that's not too difficult (I was hoping for something like taking them from the other ROM and pasting them into the new one, but i have a feeling it won't be that easy). If it's a pain, the knowledge of what's going on will help me just deal with it.
Thanks in advance you guys!
If its anything like AT&T this is exactly what happened. Your new ROM is reporting data connection correctly, your stock ROM only showed 4g.
Are you s-off?
And during installation did it ask you to pick a carrier?
What did you select?

Alright, cool I'll give that a shot.
Just in case it doesn't work, in terms of increasing signal capabilities its 3G, H, H+ and then LTE correct?
So lately, for awhile now I've been having major issues with my 4G LTE. My speeds on LTE when I check on speedtest would go as far as 1.00 MBps (Not kidding) and im forced to disable 4LTE and leave it to 3G or HSPA+. When I enable H I get speeds up to 10.00 mbps. Now I've done many things to try to fix it, researched and tried flashing the only radios I can find which are on here labeled "[Ref] [Radio] Nexus 6 modem collection" I currently have LMY47M Firmware and radio flashed and still H seems to work better. I'm on stock 5.1 update. I even tried speaking to T-Mobile to have my signal reset and they even got as far to transferring me to a specialist and even had the specialist send a note to the engineers to see if its the towers in my area or something. And that if it was the case that on Saturday I should see my LTE back up and working. Saturday passed and unfortunately still going through this. It's crazy because my brother ,mother and sister in-law have T-Mobile and their 4GLTE are working beautifully. So I was hoping if I can have any helping hands to help me fix this or find a solution, a radio or something for me. Please, I'm dying lol..
Any links, tutorials, personal apn settings, tricks or editing build.prop info will be SUPER MUCH appreciated.
Thanks again.

Curious, what were your brother, sister in-law, etc.. speed test scores? Home for me is in a fringe LTE area and depending on where I am in my house, hspa is almost always faster than LTE. Example: at home hspa+ is 12 down 2-3 up. LTE is 2-3 down 0.5-1 up. Drive half mile down street and LTE is 70 down 15 up....
One thing of note my wife has a new S6 and her radios stay on LTE 24/7 at our house where mine switches constantly from hspa to LTE. Her speed tests at home are 15-20 down 5 up.

it would be in the about phone. but you have the 95r radio, same aa me. can you try reflashing the radio then checking lte?
I just came from verizon ..it seems I never worried before. If I had even a smidge of lte the speeds were still pretty solid..T-Mobile..lte is a crap shoot.

Just reflashed it and still same results. I get around 6.00-7.00 Mbps down on hspa+ and 0.28 down on LTE with enhanced LTE clicked on and off.

The thing is, I don't think its T-Mobile. Speeds were great for me before and its fantastic on my families phones. But its my phone right now that's not getting the speeds. But I've heard Verizon has quite great speeds as well.

At first it showed same bad speeds With 4G LTE enabled and enhanced 4GLTE enabled..then it went up high as showed after I waited a bit. About same speeds as HSPA+ is giving me now. Big difference for a moment but not so different from my HSPA+ speeds. But on the next screenshots you'll see it go back down again..

It did however , weirdly...boost up my HSPA+ down speeds to 9-10-11 Mbps in my current area where I was hitting 5-6-8 Mbps before. But up stays at 0 weirdly..
