Shoot me down but I restored using TWRP and now need some advice on what I should do.
I updated my phone to 244 and rooted following the instructions from this page http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2387191
I didn't like it for a couple of reasons as my phone seemed buggy and my Walkman app wouldn't connect to music unlimited for some reason so I decided to restore back to my last firmware. (obviously a big mistake)
Now the battery is terrible, losses juice while plugged in to the mains while scrolling through apps and a bit of internet surfing. I unplugged my phone and within an hour has dropped to 75% with 30 mins of music and deleting apps while on the tube. WiFi and 3G turned off.
Do you think I should update through Sony companion and root through this method? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2386405
Did you do full wipe before restoring?

How do I restore it?
I dont have advanced wipe menu option
Just noticed I am running TWRP 2.4.3
It see your phone is buggy since you updated, better if you flash stock rom with flashtool with full wipe than do the rooting.

Think I will do that.
I am just doing a Nandroid backup.
Do you think the battery will be fixed?
It's dropping 1% every minute just in standby.
If my phone was a person it would bleed to death.

Do not restore your data, start with fresh installation, otherwise the battery drain will stay.

My XT used to be fine: unlocked bootloader, rooted, could uninstall what I wanted...
But as some of you know, after flashing Sony's JB ftf, and following root methods, the SuperSU apk is installed, but doesn't work...
My phone claims to be rooted... but no system apps can be uninstalled, I have now realized that this is permanent. I have flashed CM10 and the deletion of system files still fails...
Thanks in advance.
P.S. Just encase you tell me to try again or that I did something wrong, I DEFINITELY did stuff how they are supposed to be done and tried many times.
Binaries are all in place and up to date (/system/xbin/su)???

Yep, checked, the permissions are also correct.
have you tried to factory reset and reroot device could be a glitch in the matrix
I noticed that I removed system apps with doom kernel and that when I flashed stock kernel the apps were still there... I thought I had this problem as well. But I removed them again using titanium and now they are gone.
One thing to note. I also rebooted my phone for the first time last night and when it rebooted I got the grey triangle thing. I left my phone overnight and now it's fine... Not sure if it's related but...

Nope did that, not working.
Doesn't even allow me to remove apps when using Doom Kernel...
Which method are you using to remove them?
Are you using titanium or removing the apks from system\app using root explorer

Uninstalling via ES File Explorer.
I also cannot delete the apks.
Then when flashing a new ROM (even after wiping everything), still no luck.

Still not working....
I'll use Sony's flashtool and go back to ICS, that should fix it.
I might just have to wait for the official update, things might work for me then.
Have you tried flashing supersu and binaries in recovery? You can download it from chainfires thread
Sent from my LT30p using Tapatalk 2
Or just use the pre rooted zip from timin8r in development section (stock, rooted and deodexed).
Also kernel is flashable trough zip so all you need is cwm to start with.

Yep, tried all of that, still didn't work. Very strange. Flashed stock ICS ftf, just gonna wait until the JB update is available on Sony Flashtool, things might work better then, for some reason.
I've heard about some system apps being not just in the system folder, but in another folder too (might have been data?) It's happened before that people delete the one in the system folder but the app pops back after a reboot... probably won't help, but always worth checking?

What about trying superuser by chainsDD rather than supersu

Going to try my luck with the new kernel with recovery.
EDIT: No, still not working...
Thought about formatting all partitions and sdcards, and then flash ftf , boot, flash kernel with twrp, boot, flash superuser and/or update.zip?

good afternoon friends. I would like some information please . When I turn on every time the phone appears the message "android is being upgraded" .... is fast and starts normal, but it started appearing after I installed an app. Already uninstalled it all and it is still showing up. a problem or normal? thanks for attention and sorry my Inglês
This message appears almost every time you reboot in my experience. It's just the Dalvik-cache rebuilding and updating itself.

I researched and it was even the Dalvik-cache. is normal or do I need to do something? not appeared before. thanks
It's normal behaviour, no need to worry
Sent from my LT30p using xda app-developers app
It is normal for it to happen, but not on every reboot...I suggest clearing caches, wiping dalvik, reflashing your Rom and rebooting.
It will build the dalvik cache again, but then should not do it until you update, delete or install a system app

Hello XDA Members
I'm fairly new to ROM's and all that.
I'm having major issues with my Xperia Z. I have tried installing so many Roms and spent the last 4 days trying to either find a ROM that is stable and will not crash or find out how to stop the crashing. I really need help!
I've installed:
PACMAN ROM [once]
CM 10.2.1 (stable) [about 3 times]
Cm11 [about twice]
Used Emma (Sony's flash tool) [10+ times]
Each one of those has crashed when either launching an app or doing anything even the so called stable ROM.
Does anyone know how to fix this? Or you can recommend me a ROM?
My device:
Sony Xperia Z Telstra locked
Unlocked bootloader with root access and CWM Recovery.
Originally Telstra version of 4.2 but Emma upgraded me to 4.4.2

Give this a shot
wipe the device completely from recovery(Dalvik cache, cache partition, data, data internal SD,format system)
reset the battery stats
Flash AOKP and check whether there is any difference
Okay thank you, how do I reset the battery status?
Any chance that you have a link to AOKP? I've tried to find it before but all the links are dead.
Thanks

Nightly, but can be used as a daily driver
Hi guys, I finally made the decision to root my z1,but first of all, I need to back it up. Problems are :
1. Sony pc companion backup is cr*p.
2. So I opted to using helium. Now, I got all settings up. Downloaded the pc counterpart of the app, downloaded the Android app from Google store, set up into debug mode. Helium requires my phone on PTP mode, which I do, but 1 second later, it comes back to MTP mode.
Did I miss anything? I tried downloading "drivers" from helium 's suggestions, but the one they have their is older than my SPCC.
Thanks in advance! I really look forward to rooting my device and getting it's benefits. Cheers!

Sent from my C6903 using xda app-developers app
I had the same problem, and I didn't find any solutions (I have Helium Premium). I ended up backing up my phone using Sonys software, just to be on the safe side. Rooting does not wipe your phone (at least not the method I used), but better safe than sorry. Unlocking on the other hand will wipe your phone!
After root, I installed Titanium and made all the backups I wanted. I also installed dual recovery (still without wiping the phone) and made a Nandroid bckup.
Titanium backup always work, use that in the future. It is worth the money, all others I have tried have been of no use

He's right. Move all files from internal memory to the PC and then use titanium backup. It's able to back up your entire phone including the application data. Duh. It can actually backup your entire device with system apps and it's data.
