Reinstall stock ROM - Nook HD, HD+ Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I've decided that I would like to return my Nook since I have issues with it no matter the ROM. Does anyone know a thread that explains how to go back to stock?
P.s. Sorry if this is in the wrong section.

Go to my HD/HD+ CWM thread linked in my signature and look at item 6. Download and flash plain stock 2.1.0 and do a factory reset.

[Q] Stock Root Rom USB Host & Sixaxis Support

I installed CM 10.2 emmc only to find out the sixaxis won't connect over bluetooth anymore, the whole reason I wanted to root. So does the sixaxis work with a stock rooted rom 2.2.0? Also does USB host work with it?

If you look in the accessories forum, there is a thread discussing that. And I don't think USB host works on stock, but search to find out for sure.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't device spoofer just for installing and running apps on devices that the apps aren't intended to run on? I'm just trying to pair the ps3 controller with my nook HD. From all the reading I've done, google kind of broke Bluetooth with 4.2. My iPhone would pair with stock nook is so I was hoping maybe a rooted stock ROM (2.1.1) would restore Bluetooth even though I'll be stuck with nook os.

I was not pointing you there about the spoofer, if you read the whole thread, it talks about if the six-axis works and on which ROM. It even talks about running stock on SD as a solution. I know nothing about any of it.

I must have missed it. Thanks for your help pointing me in the right direction
Ok. I installed CWM and rooted 2.1.1. Got the Sixaxis working but I can't open the cyanoboot menu. I've tried holding the power and "n" button and just the "n" button while booting but can't access the cyanoboot menu. I'm trying to install enable unknown sources but no matter what I do I can't access the boot menu. If it helps sometimes when I power back on I get the factory recovery asking if I want to restore to factory maybe indicating something wrong with the CWM install?

No, there is no cyanoboot menu with rooted 2.1.1. You have to boot using the bootable CWM SD that you used to flash the Universal Root zip.

Installed CM11 on HD+ Want Stock 2.2.0 Back

Hi guys, I hope you can help me. I installed CM11 to my Nook HD+ following the thread [EMMC CM11 install - updated 01/18] I am having some problems and wanted to go back to stock Nook 2.2.0. The problem is I don't know how, I am more lost than when I first started. If this has been asked before I apologize, I looked through the forum and didn't see a fix, or if I did I missed it. Thank you in advance for any help you can give me. I don't think I made a backup of the stock Nook 2.2.0 though.
The best way to get back to stock is to go to my HD/HD+ CWM thread linked in my signature and make a new bootable CWM SD per item 1a there and use that to flash the plain stock 2.2.0 zip from item 6. Follow that with a factory reset with CWM. That should make it completely stock.

Thank you so very much leapinlar, I am back on stock now. Think I will stick to CM10 for a bit, thanks again leapinlar for your help its very much appreciated. After reading your thread I understand the process a lot better now, I wont be going in blind like I was installing CM11. Thanks again mate.

[Q] Nook HD - Can't get out of CWM recovery

My Nook HD will only boot to CWM recovery.
A bit of history...
Was happily running CWM 10.2 but decided to upgrade to CWM 11. I couldn't get this to work (status 7 installation aborted). I reinstalled 10.2 and this worked fine. I then stupidly followed some instructions for installing CWM 11 when I was tired and didn't spot they were for the Galaxy Tab 2 and since then my Nook HD just boots into CWM recovery.
I'm pretty sure I have killed my device (I gave up trying to fix it a couple of months ago) but before I throw it in the bin I thought someone on here may have some bright ideas for rescuing it.
Thanks in advance for any advice
Try going to my HD/HD+ CWM thread and flash a plain stock zip from item 6.
What thread and advice did you follow?

I tried flashing a plain stock zip from item 6, it didn't change anything.
Thread was on the cyanogenmod forum. I don't appear to be able to post a link so this is the bit I stupidly followed...
Hello!
The "error 7" message was in my case coused by an old version of CWM.
There is already a topic about it under Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 p5110.
This is what you could try to do:
- download the newest version of CWM at this link : **link deleted as forum won't let me post links but it was CWM for a Galaxy Tab2 10.1**
- install this package and reboot
- note : this is not the touch version of CWM so you have to use the power and volume buttons to use this type of CWM
- download the newest CM 11 and put it on your EXTERNAL SD CARD
- download if you use it the newest GAPPS for KK to your EXTERNAL SD CARD
- go into recovery mode
- wipe cache
- wipe dalvik cache
- install CM 11
- install the GAPPS if you use it
- reboot
This solved my "error 7" problem and also for some others with this error.
Thanks for looking.
So what did you do? Install the CWM from that thread?

Then you may have bricked it. Did it say it installed correctly?
The problem is the Galaxy Tab 2 uses a different partition for recovery than the Nook HD. Whoever made that zip must have failed to put a safety assert statement in it to prevent users from trying to flash it to the wrong device.
I will try to find the thread to see if the zip was bad and where it tried to install it on your nook. Do you have any more clues for me to the link?

Ok, found the file you flashed and looked at it. It put the recovery image where your bootdata partition is supposed to be and wiped out bootdata. I made a bootdata repair zip and sent you a PM with the link. Try flashing that with your CWM. It may recover your bricked device. Let me know.

You do it very much like you did when you put CM on internal, but use the files from that thread.
Use your CM to download the special stock ovation zip from his thread to your internal sdcard. Then download the special ovation image from his thread and burn it to the SD you are going to use. Boot to the new SD and CWM will come up and use that to flash the zip you downloaded to your internal sdcard. You may have to look in the 0 folder there for the zip. You should be able to follow his thread from there.

Getting info from you is like pulling teeth. What device are you running? What operating ROM were you running when it developed the boot loop? And describe the boot loop. What logos show and how far does it get when looping? How did you try to install the stock ROM? Did the install complete successfully? What do you mean it won't go when you wipe data? The data wipe does not complete or it completes but still boot loops?

Thank you. But I'm afraid I have bad news for you. With some HD+ running CM11 it does truly brick. I suspect it has to do with CM11 running trim automatically on devices with the buggy emmc chip. And your symptoms match that (the device becomes essentially read only). I know of no known fix. You tried the ones I would recommend and it did not help.
Sorry
Edit: you can still use your device running a special version of CM on SD. Search the dev forum for noemmc. Verygreen made a ROM that will run on SD for bricked emmcs. I think succulent even made a CM11 version.

Just by flashing the stock ROM back, which you can't do.
