Title says it all. I realized that on ocasion my phone would freeze if I got a incoming call. Just now I found out why it freezes.
It only freezes when my sound is turned on. If it's on vibrate or mute, I can answer the call like it should be. As soon as the sound is on though, the phone just freezes and I can't answer the phone. I have to remove the battery and restart my phone, to make it work again.
At first I thought it might be because of the ringtone I had selected, so I changed it. Same effect.
So I was hoping one of you guys code help me with the problem.
Thanks in advance.
Rom?
Rooted?
Bootloader status?
Mods you have installed?
It all helps

Are you using any battery tools app?
A similar issue.
I did not identified another topic and because mine is similar with the OP I reopen it.
I have a Sony Xperia V - LT25i.
Sometime when I receive a call and the screen is activated, I'm not able to slide horizontally to answer, but I'm able to touch bottom of the screen to reject the call with an SMS. I'm not sure what is the cause and what exactly is the pattern.
During receiving the call I noticed sometime, pressing the power button twice with a delay of 2.. 3 seconds between them, I can answer to the receiving call.
I noticed this behaviour on 4.1.2 and on 4.3 too.
I noticed this on another Xperia V too.
Details:
Xperia V, Android 4.3, fw: 9.2.A.1.210 (all stock), customization 1268-8838_R1J, bootloader is locked (unlock allowed).
Are also others with this behaviour?
Yup I have same problem too.

I have exactly the same problem as cubexx with my Xperia V with he same version 4.3, and FW 9.2.A.1.210
ABSOLUTELY FRUSTRATING!!!

Sometimes When i receive an incoming call, i cannot answer it. even if i slide the answer call button or the reject call button, nothing happens,
and finally the call goes to a missed on,
I tried to change settings to answer the call with the power button, but that too behaves the same way, when pressed, cannot answer.
Happened to me since the 4.0.3 update (before rooting).
Any advice?
If you recently updated.. do a clean wipe. if it still exists, Don't use fb sync. The same problem happened in my S3 after upgrade.

Does anyone know what determines whether the softkeys vibrate on touch? Turning volume down to silent doesn't change anything but I've noticed that sometimes there is no vibration and I can't figure out the reason.

There is an option to turn it off in the sound settings, vibrate on touch.

But there's been many times when I've not been near any settings for a while and I notice the soft keys not vibrating.

I don't know if it's a software or hardware problem.can you try a factory reset?or repair the phone via pc companion.

Firstly I'll monitor exactly what I'm doing when it next happens. I'm not rooted or unlocked yet so I guess it's nothing I've done (unless it's an app, if that's possible)

Right, so it's been almost a week. Unfortunately, I'm still having problems with no obvious explanation.
I soft-bricked my phone a few days ago so I've completely reset it. I was under the impression that it was only softkeys and haptic feedback that was being lost but today I'm sure a couple of time I've received messages without vibration (phone was in my lap and I can see the screen turn on but felt nothing).
My friend on his One X told me he often loses softkey feedback and haptics but that a message always brings it back. So until today I was putting it down to Jellybean (there seems to be a lot of S3 users with same issues too). Some S3 user reported that turning battery saving off has brought back feedback but I've not used stamina or anything like that, might there be something enabled by default I want to get rid of?
I kinda want to install CM10.1 to test on 4.2 but I'd need unlocked bootloader and I'm not sure how Amazon feel about that.
The motor seems to be ok... It sounds like a Bee or some paper trapped but from what I read that's normal because it's a thin phone. It's loud too.
When using the Service Tests area it seems to work without fail, but I need to test that after it turns off.
I'm still having this issue and I'm almost certain it must be a hardware fault.
Am I right in thinking that if I run a vibration test in the service menu then no system or app settings should prevent it vibrating?
Sometimes it fails to vibrate even in that test.

Hey guy,
I love this phone and the ability to touch the screen to wake it via the app eXperience Pro.
The only issue is that with the framework / module loaded , when I receive or make a call, the phone would be close to my ears which means that the proximity sensor will shut the screen off. However, when the conversation ends, I wouldn't be able to turn the screen on, either by tapping the screen or pressing the power button.
There are times that when I am not in a call, and my phone is just sitting idle, and when it comes to waking it up, it wouldn't do so. I have to manually restart it just like the issue above. What I noticed yesterday was that my led notification light was on indicating that I had a message. I didn't look at it until after awhile which I realize that I couldn't turn on the phone. The led notification was still working.
Then I decided to call up my phone and I could hear the dial tone from my other phone, however, my xperia Z was sitting idle with its screen off without any ringtone and so on.
I would really like to feature to work flawlessly. Tried it on about 4 ROMs, and the issue persist. Is there any way for me to show the log so someone could figure out whats causing the phone to behave this way?
Without the module loaded, the phone works just fine. I have sent a PM to the developer but have not received any replies since.
not all apps are made for every android phones out there. If its causing issues to your Z, just stop using it or contact the app developer (which you did) and hope for the best.
I dont think there is anyone willing to just make a rom or tweak just for a specific app to function flawlessly on an Z. Especially when its not a super popular app.

My main concern is what is causing this to happen and to see if other xperia Z users are facing the same issue.
I'm using this app.. For me until now no problem..
Hi all, I just found a problem with my XZ and don't know if it's been reported by others or is it just me.
I'm currently on .307 firmware. When I manually restart my XZ with my wifi on and stamina mode on, I can't get the dialer to function after the XZ turns on. When I try to call, only a blank black screen is shown. The dialer only start when I turn the wifi off. After that, I can turn on wifi again.
The situation is reproducible on my XZ. Can anyone confirm if it's a firmware related bug or...?
Forgot to mention that I'm on stock 307 fw without root.

No problem for me.

Then it's possibly only me, maybe it's about time to swipe my XZ.

I experience a strange problem after updation of 4.3 in my xperia Z1, When i receive a new call, the call volume automatically decreases, I have to increase the volume every time to hear the person loud. After updating to 4.4, the problem still exists. Is it any option that can turn off this ? or any problem with mobile ?
Did anyone experience the same problem ?

This seems more like a software problem rather than a hardware problem. You could try to factory reset your device (make sure to backup the things you don't want to lose) to see if that works. I don't seem to have this problem on 4.4, I could be mistaken though, but I don't call all that often so I haven't really noticed it.
