Hey, I've been messing with my rooted KFHD for a couple of days now and I've realized that the superuser prompt isn't supposed to pop up over and over. When I go into the SU settings, I see apps listed that supposedly have permission to use root access, but the prompt still pops up every time. I sprung for SU elite, but it didn't help. Based on what I've read on other sites, it seems like maybe superuser itself doesn't have root permission to be able to remember its settings? That might not be correct, though. Has anyone else had this problem and resolved it? It can take forever to keep hitting "allow" when doing things like making backups. Thanks!
Mine did that a couple of times. Try this: Go into SU and forget the app(s) that is giving you trouble, reboot, launch the app again and see if the setting sticks.

Thanks for the suggestion; it's much appreciated, but after trying that a few times it's still asking for access. I don't know if this is relevant, but it doesn't do it EVERY time. It just seems to forget maybe during reboots or while sleeping.
I'm not sure why I didn't think of this sooner, but installing a different superuser app seems to have fixed it.

I too have this problem. Which superuser app did you use to solve the problem?

Hello, it's been a long time since I've had to ask a question here, so hopefully that won't inhibit my answers
So this problem happens a lot on my phone, and normally I just go and reinstall all my apps, but I'm getting sick of that solution. I install certain roms, and for whatever reason, the permissions for all my apps get broken, specifically the connection to data services. For example, Facebook, Myspace can't connect to the internet and force close, the same being for Twidroid and so forth. Native apps like the browser, IM, connect fine.
I've tried running fix_permissions in hopes of resolving this, but to no avail. If anything, it's made the problem worse (if some apps still work, it will break those working apps).
Are there any other solutions that I can use? I'm running Super D with Danger SPL, recent everything. Thanks guys
Anyone? I believe I've fixed this before but don't remember the solution.

Sorry. I've never heard of the apps installing but not connecting online.
APN settings maybe?

Only have default T-Mobile USA set, tried "restore defaults" to no avail.
So since there isn't any real solutions right now, is there any way I can go and mass install/uninstall apps?

Thru adb

OK, guys, its been a while since this has been happening, but I didn't think to post a thread here. I've done my searching and it seems that no one has had this problem. Here goes: I can go to the market, and it is completely functional. I click "Install" and everything goes like normal. The app downloads, and then as it starts to install, the market FC's. I have a gigantic logcat, most of the market stuff is toward the bottom, so you don't have to read it all. http://pastebin.com/H4Pyc6xg
There are two things that may have triggered this, I edited my settings.db file to install out of market apps, and I had a lag fix that I have not completely removed, just disabled.
Well, MarketAccess is making/not closing sqlite DBs left and right.
Lines 4475-4478 seem to be failing to clear a non-existent file path
Lines 4545-4550 tell it all.
Somehow... that process does not have install rights. This is not the side-loading instructions fault. Something hit your security .

Before I even begin, I was a nub didn't know much about rooting and did it anyways. I suppose I have learned it the hard way and now I must pay.
I rooted my phone and everything went fine.
Before knowing much about Titanium Backup Pro I instead of "freezing" application I have accidentally deleted some apps that I shouldn't have.
When I say my phone is messed up I don't mean not "operational"
I can still use it for day to day but for instant.
I deleted backup manager and now I can't even restore my backups from verizon online.
I also when I try to call somebody from my contacts list I get this error
The application Contacts Storage (process com.motorola.contacts) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.
I have random errors like that all the time.
I have unrooted and did a factory reset but to no avail.
Is there anything out there that could help get my phone back to the way it was when I received it?
I know its my fault for not learning but there must be something out there
Any help is appreciated.
When you first rooted, a backup is usually created. Go to your recovery and look for backup and restore and restore it.

Thanks for that quick response, could you be more specific about "Go to your recovery and look for backup" Where do I exactly go. Went around settings but couldn't find backup
There is no backup unless you made a backup.
And there's no recovery mode on the Droid 3 yet either.

So in other words you are saying I am screwed?
I requested before, but i think the thread got moved or removed to be redone in devl section... Can someone post a backup from Titanium BackUp of the stock apps that will be needed for those who have gone Delete-happy and removed some wrong stuff?
Just found this:

Thank you for the responses guys.
I have played with it but I can honestly say I have not been able to get it to work.
I have tried following the instructions, even bought Root Explorer but can still not figure it out.
I attached a picture of the error. I just can't seem to do anything to get it fixed. Also I was attempting to re-install backup manager without success.....
Anybody that can help out? Is there maybe an easier way to get back to defaults maybe somebody have an image or something of a stock operating system that could be copied? sorry I have no idea of this stuff yet still learning

Ok here is what I do. Let me know if I am doing ANYTHING wrong at all.
I load up root explorer and transfer my backupmanager.apk and .odex from ex-sdcard to /system/app
then I change the permission to r/w
press and hold the file and go to permission. There I set Owner to Read/Write and Group, Others just have read privilages.
Hold the file again. Then I scroll to the bottom to change owner and group to 0 - root...
Reboot...
The program doesn't appear in my apps? Anything I did wrong?
First off, you are doing it correctly. However, I'm not sure if backup assistant is even an app you can launch from the drawer. You have to launch the "My Accounts" app. Second, you can check if it worked by going into titanium backup, and looking for the app. If the name of the app is in red, then you did it correctly.
Hey thanks for that reply! I have looked into it and like you said, it was there in red but now I can't find the my accounts app all I can find is the my verizon wireless app and our doesn't have any backup functions from what I can tell.
Let me ask you this since you seen to be pretty knowledgeable. I have all the apps on my computer from that file above! Would I be able to just copy paste them with root explorer to /system/apps and then do a system factory restore would that work? Or do I have to manually find the apps I stupidly deleted and do it one by I've like I have been?

If you can't find the app, just go into Settings>Accounts.
As for your question: Unfortunately, it's not that easy (I would know, that's one of the first things I tried when I was fixing that contacts bug ). You would have to set the permissions and owners for every apk and odex file from the system dump. However, that contacts bug should've been fixed if you reinstalled those yahoo apps the same way you reinstalled the backup assistant.
Btw, you do know that backup assistant is pretty pointless since all of your contacts are synced with your Google account, right? People have reported no problems when removing the backup assistant app.
And thanks! I'm no android guru like many others here; just trying to help others with a similar problem that had me stumped for a good hour.
Thanks again. I've located the app but it still gives me troubles and not bein able to sync with the online server please call *811 or something like that. The only reason why I care its because I actually did backup all my contacts to the backup client but couldn't get them back on the phone now! I figured it out last night with syncing to gmail and it worked but still trying to get it back to normal. I will just have to do the rest manually haha! Appreciate it a lot!

I got that error message even without root with all of the system apps in place. Backup Assistant is just a poorly-coded app.
I'm pretty sure you didn't do much damage to your phone. I mean, as long as you didn't remove any other authenticators or other apps that blur needs in order for it to function, you should be fine just reinstalling the yahoo apps I told you about. After all, that looks like it's the only error you're getting.
And no problem.
Alright so now I need urgent help!
I went through the entire applications that I was missing and I gave them all permission etc. Rebooted my device and now I am stuck in this screen.
It's an endless loop because I get the error message and can't exit out of it.
Anything that can be done at all?
Haha, oh wow. I knew I wasn't the only one with that problem. Accounts loved to crash on me whenever I reset my phone. You can fix this one of two ways: hold the search button on your phone until it launches voice search. Say anything; as long as it launches the browser, you'll be fine. Once the search is performed, search for an apk for another home launcher. The accounts app basically hijacked your home button, so you'll need another launcher in order to get your home button back.
The second way involves using the desk dock. If you have one, then go into productivity mode. There should be an app drawer there. Open up the market, and install the launcher of your choice.
Once again, I had this problem even before root, so I'm not sure what the cause for this was.

I don't know what I would do without you lol... I was searching google like wild for droid 3 recovery but there is literally NOTHING out there.
Also let me ask you this. If I do a factory reset. Do I have to re-do the whole application proccess to give them permissions or should they be right now
Once it's a system app, it will always be a system app, even after resetting the phone. You should be fine.

So I tried doing the factory reset. Everything went smooth and I was hoping that my phone would be back to the old phone.
I am at the Welcome to DROID 3 screen. Tap on the little green guy, get to the motorola screen from before and same damn error. Except this time, I can't even try to use the voice or search buttons, none of them work.....
What now? I feel so stupid right now
I've waiting to see if anyone else is having this issue before posting but haven't seen it. I've been having this problem since I got the 6 and rooted ect, even on stock Rom. After some time, a day or less, when a new app prompts su for permission, I can't select allow. Also I can not longer side load an app. When it shows cancel or install, I can't select install, only cancel. Weirdest thing. I'm on my 3rd Rom, and it just started.

Do you have SuperSU set to grant or prompt? If it's set to grant, apps won't show up, at least I've noticed on my S7. Only time apps show up is if SuperSU is set to prompt, and then I launch an app and either grant or deny the app in the prompt. You don't manually add apps to SuperSU, at least not that I'm aware of.

Impossible to manually add app to Whitelist SuperSU-Pro?
I have SuperSU pro and another app (DU Battery Saver pro) Which I need to manually whitelist in Super SU to unlock a feature that will save alot of power by lowering cpu frequency and voltage when screen locked and when phone idle. Frustrated at how poor app design is making it impossible to manually add any app to SuperSU Whitelist. The good news is I managed to get a refund from Google after feeling ripped off for paying for a defective app which I think has something to do with poor user interface for devices which have no menu button soft key and touch only interface. After complaining to Google Play (who have a great refund policy).Well Done!? Real Crappy Job Guys. Will probably be forced to find another solution while you continue to lose revenue and customers as you casually ignore them on Google Play and XDA Forums. NXA! MxM SMH WTF!. Guys please lets be serious.
I'm guessing that the suggestions above are now out of date with the current version of SuperSU. The grant/deny/prompt option is attached to each individual app in SuperSU on my device. Perhaps, it was once a global setting but it isn't now. You have to have an app show up first before you can set it for grant, deny, or prompt.
I do have some apps shown in SuperSU. The problem is that one of the ones I want (Termux) is not there and I have yet to figure a way to add it. So, obviously, setting to prompt does not solve the problem for me.
