sorry if this is a newb question, but I have done some searching, and was not able to figure out a clear answer:
For an at&t branded htc one, do we need s-off to be able to flash radio updates when the become available via .zip; flash-able thru recovery?
and if yes, has anybody tried this already without s-off?
Thanks for the insight!

Sorry to reply here. But I cannot reply in development forum.
Could anyone kindly send me a link talking about the procedures to flash the radio? I searched a lot, but they always say flash via recovery, which i have no idea what it is.
BTW, do I have to flash the radio every time when I flash a new rom? Thanks in advance.

REcovery is an app that you can flash to your phone. IT is use mostly to make system backups, and flash apps roms etc etc. search for twrp recovery, learn how to install it, youll have to unlock bootloader and root phone then install recovery. then flash it with recovery, in the install section. no you dont have to flash radio everytime you flash a rom. radio is one thing rom is another.
Thank you both. I think Ive got some sense now. I would try flash radio via fastboot.

The newest radio, you need to use for 2.3.3 roms!
USE AT YOUR OWN RISK! CAN BRICK YOUR PHONE
How To:
just put the PG32IMG.zip on the root of your SD Card and boot into fastboot
follow the instructions on the screen
Download
http://www.multiupload.com/JG3D1BODV7
The filename should be PG32IMG.zip
it's in the zip
just forget it at the guide

does it also work with s-on?
i guess
but i didn't tried it
but u don't need it because if you are having s-on you only can get 2.3.3 by using goldcard method which will flash the radio too
and how about an ota update? the ota does flash the radio either, or does it?
to put it in a nutshell i am going to s-off my phone this afternoon, so i need to know how to flash the newest CustomRom wich actually is the 2.3.3 rom correctly on my incS. so i need to flash this radio first?
doesn't matter what order you flash them in, I did ROM first then radio

thx my prophet
so
s-off -> rom and radio -> finish?! or did i miss something?
(BTW l0st.prophet your rom is already rootet, so if i flashed your rom on my incS i didnt need to flash or install anything else to finish, or do i?)
Best order is:
- S-OFF
- Root via SuperOneClick (psneuter)
- Install RonManager from the market and install clockworkmod
- Boot into recovery and install rom
- Reboot into HBoot and install radio
Iam sorry, but i really cant find the superonclick root by psneuter... Could you be so Kind, to Post the Link. Iam on the go...
Thx a lot!!

Well, I've been trying to use some custom roms and after all I restored the backup I made before, everything fine.
Today I wanted to try to use a custom rom again but it wouldn't work so I decided to wait for the official ICS release for the IncS. And here we get to my problem: When I restore the backup, and manually flash the boot.img (have to do this manually, got S-ON) and I boot my phone it gets to the HTC bootscreen, reboots and automatically gets to the CWM recovery.
Can anyone provide me an original boot.img (I haven't found it yet) or the whole standard android rom? If you have another solution, I would like to hear it!

You can find the latest OTA in the Android Dev section. If you would use the search function ( yeah we really have a "search" function.. ) you would easily find it. If you want your boot.img we do need what for a Rom from which carrier you got.

I have just been reviewing your posts and you posted that you applied the OTA and received HBOOT 2.01.0001, correct?
Then the RUU/ROM you need is the 3.11.405.2 version.
You also stated that you were able to unlock HBOOT 2.01.0001 using the HTCDEV.com site, correct? Which custom recovery did you install after that?

That's all correct, I installed the CWM recovery after that, not sure which version, the most recent one if I'm sure. I notice that the RUU/ROMS are .exe, do I flash these the same way as a .zip rom?

No, you run the exe on a PC and follow the directions on the screens. The program will tell you when to connect your phone to the PC using the USB cable.
This will completely wipe your phone and reload the ROM. Your HBOOT screen will probably show RELOCKED and you will need to unlock it again. Please confirm.

You can sync your contacts to your Google/Gmail account or save them to your SD cards. You can use Titanium Backup to backup apps and some settings.

Sprint HTC One Stock 1.29 ROM looking to OTA a couple times to 4.3 Jellybean. I am rooted, S-off, locked. Do I need to unroot before update? Or can I simply re flash to stock recovery then update. Can't seem to find a way to flash the OTA with twerp.
More importantly Should we OTA or just flash a ROM based off the updates? Then Just wait for the next update flash-able ROM(4.3 jellybean)?
Thanks Hope to hear some responses on this. Patiently waiting to do it right. Thanks to all the developers. Have had a pleasant experience here!

How do you do your OTA. Do yo OTA or use the flash-able ones found here on the site? I am stock 1.29, rooted, S-off, locked. I think I can just flash the stock recovery and update via OTA's? Revert the recovery to stock or download and flash a rom? Thanks

I just flash the stock recovery then take the OTA then reflash TWRP and reroot. This only works if you:
1. dont make any changes to your rom (/system/app) (if you do just revert them if you can)
2. helps if you are s-off and unlocked bootloader so you dont have issues re-rooting

You don't need that zip file. Just extract to boot.img from the ROM zip. The zip file is specifically for MultiROM support.

Is it OK to extract the recovery.img and flash that by itself? Reason I ask, me and my buddy r @work right now, no access to fastboot, this is actually for him, I have a Verizon m7 and he has a sprint. He wants to take the OTA and doesn't have a backup of his stock recovery, and once I find this recovery for him I'm gonna use flashify to flash it (I know, not the preferred method here on xda, but I've done it many , MANY times before).
So I can just extract the recovery.img and flash that by itself, correct?

I thought about that, but I've never done it before so I didn't want to suggest it. My guess is that if the phone is s-off, it should work.
