[Q] Best Sense Rom for N1

Hi All
I really like Sense (I know I might be in the minority) and am curious to see what the best Sense ROM is. I've tried a few (Hyper Sense, Sebastiaan15's Runny V5, now I am flashing RCADS Mix as we speak). The first two had a few flaws, mostly FCs at various points. I'm just curious to see what everyone else is using and could use a little guidance. I will continue to flash versions until I find one that works for me, but wasn't sure if I was missing a real popular version. Thanks for the help and awesome work to all the devs out there!

New Partition Layout is: 345mb System, 10mb Cache, 81mb Data.
To flash this, you have to do the following:
- Extract the content of "Blackrose_HBOOT.rar" into your C:\ folder!
- Now you'll see 2 folder:
-> FIRST go to "blackrose_111217_2" folder and open Blackrose.exe. Then follow the steps to UPDATE or to INSTALL it from scratch!
-> AFTER that, you have to install the custom partition layout, so do the following.
- Open the windows command prompt (cmd).
- Type: cd..
- Type: cd.. (yes another time)
- Type: cd Modified_HBOOT
- Now you're into the folder. Make sure that you have your Nexus running into the bootloader (1° white screen with red FASTBOOT word)!
- Type: fastboot erase cache
- Type: fastboot flash hboot hboot_brcust.nb0
- Type: fastboot reboot-bootloader and if you can see HYPERSENSE-360/5/71 (= new partition layout) you're done!
- Type another time (just to be sure): fastboot erase cache.
--> Finally go into recovery and flash this ROM!
-> Remember to WIPE everything every time you flash a new ROM!

- You must have an EXT 4 Partition

Thanks for the replies. I actually ended up using the new HyperSense 2.7SD for a couple weeks and really liked it, but ultimately, went back to CM7 for the speed. I like Sense, but I didnt like that GTalk was removed from 2.7. I tried downloading from Market but got an error messaging about package parsing whenever I tried to install Talk. I miss sense a little, but CM7 is super user-friendly. I'll keep looking. I'm somewhat of a flashaholic, so I'm sure I'll change again soon.

Change for the sebastian's rom it's the fastest sense 3.5 rom . Now im using this rom but you should have a sdcard between class 6 and 10 or it will lag for me it works great !!!!

Trust me there are many sense ROMs.. Hypersense..Sebastians & bla bla..But they become very slow when I install apps/ They have very low internal Memory...
This ROM has both a huge internal memory of 1.5GB (Don't care about what the phone shows ~150MB, which isn't actually used when I install anything)
There's a but though... The trackball lights are not working.. I am dying to figure it out..Blinker works like crazy..Led Light Flow doesn't work at all..
The camera is pretty good.. Though Flickers when I try to focus on a close object..But overall so far, This is the best Sense ROM for Nexus one..& don't forget to install V6

Using Blackrose HBOOT is completely a waste of space for this ROM..
This ROM needs around 250MB for system..Assigning 345MB is just a waste of ~100MB for nothing... I strongly recommend the Stock Hboot... The data partition gets around 150MB on Stock..

Sebastian15's Runny AIO 5.0.1 is the best sense ROM. It's recommended to have between a class 6 or 10 sdcard or you'll face serious speed issues.

Hey thats my build of RCADSmix! Light flow can let it flash white, in setting select trackball led to on and main to off. Then go to settings and select slow flash and taadaa!

on the Tools>All LED test.. the trackball works like charm but it doesn't flash when I get a message or Miss call

I have a bad experience with HyperSense because i can't install many apps due to very low data partition. four, maybe five apps could be installed, but the message "low Memory" pops up. Unstable browser and frequent lag made me switch to RCADSMIX.
RCADSMIX is much better than HyperSense, in my opinion. Great stability and a camera with paranorma mode was great. If i were to recommend one sense ROM, it would be this one. Although multitouch was enabled, pinch-to-zoom was horrendous for me. The touch input would constantly sense me pressing the capacitor buttons, a problem i did not have on HyperSense. But RCADS, over time, kept overheating and it would requently reboot in the middle of a video, or browser.
I tried many other sense ROMs, including Sebastiaan15's Runny V5, BlissMod v4, Runnymede007 v5. All had some problems such as laggy video player, bad touch sensor/input, and for some reason my computer could not connect for "sdcard data transfer" on BlissMod. Finally, i got so frustrated I just flashed a stable CM7.
ICS was introduced shortly after, and i flashed Evervolv's ROM. I miss sense,and i want to try out RCMix ICE if a kind dev decides he/she can port it

One of the main reasons a Sense ROM lags is because of a slow sdcard. It's seriously recommended not to flash a Sense ROM unless you have at least a class 6 sdcard, otherwise you'll definitely face speed issues. Especially with Sebastiaan15's Runny AIO ROM seeing as that ROM installs about 50% to the nand memory and 50& to an ext-partition on your sdcard.

I am really sorry.. actually it was my fault.. Today I noticed Trackball Alert popped out on my notification area out of nowhere..After uninstalling Trackball Alert..Light Flow works great with the settings you provided.. A million thanks to you.. My recommendation to anyone would be, please uninstall any thing related to TB Notifications (i.e. Blinker, Trackball Alert, No Led) & Light Flow will give a breathing light again to your Trackball

Glad the problem is fixed, but it only flashes white right?

I haven't faced the Overheating Problem on the RCADSMix Rom yet, The touch problem you specified, I still face that on any ROM, name it CM, MIUI or anything.. & yes My cell rebooted a couple of times, esp, when it got overloaded on memory but when I installed the V6 Supercharger Script.. Haven't faced any single reboot till then.. So I strongly Recommend the V6 Supercharger.. & yes RCADSMix performs better than Runny if you have a slower Memory + I have 120+ Apps installed & it says I have used only 91MB & 105MB is still free.. I don't know how RCADS is that much faster even though all the apps are on my SD card..
You can again give a try to the RCADS..a next update of this ROM would be just Super awesome where are the Developers ?

My Super charger Settings : 512HP Ledded
Installed Nitro Lag Nullifier
Installed Powershifting to easily switch between 512HP super & 768 super & added a widget. (To play heavy 3D games, actually I don't play Heavy 3D games that much so I use it very rare)

2. Sense camera 3.5 isn't necessary as I have Camera360 to take care of that job.
3. V6 Supercharger Integrated
4. When I apply a skin my Dock bar doesn't change, a fix for that would be great.
5. Ability to change the shortcuts both on Lockscreen & Statusbar.

You can already change shortcuts on lockscreen! Just go select lockscreen, click edit and chose your icons. But please note, im not really a dev, more like a tweaker/ bug fixer. I will see for the problems (im still a noob... A learning noob.)

Thank you very much again.. I am really a newbie on sense ... I changed my shortcuts on the lockscreen.
It would be really great if you can just provide a fixed camera.. Nothing more needed.. Is it possible to install CM7/MIUI Camera ? that would be even enough for me.. Camera 360 is a really great camera app.

Take the camera.apk from the cm7 rom zip and try installing it.

Not really! I am also using Sebastiaan's rom ported by dbasabe (v5.0.1) and I have a 16gb class 2 SD Card...and I dare say it runs alright...decent speed. There are no speed threats (although, yes - a bit more speed could always help). All I'm trying to say is that it's not as bad with a class 2 either.
The rom itself is one of the best sense roms ported to N1. Thanks sebastiaan & dbasabe.

Ironically, I ordered a Strontium SD Card 32 GB of class 10.

.7. gallery3d app re added. please choose your own lock and home screens
.8. beats audio engine for a perfect audio experience.
.9. a very different and attractive approach to screen resolution and texts to give a rich feel.
.10. 1 % battery mod added on request along with battery icon.
.11. a very sleek and stylish task manager like ics.
.12. memory tweak
#( applications get installed to your sd card because of this tweak but KINDLY DONT MOVE YOUR SWYPE TO YOUR SD CARD )
#( some apps rarely need to be on phone memory. for such apps use under "settings>manage applications" and click on that specific application and click on "move to phone" )
^ point me a bug and il shoot you (just kidding ) i killed my effin 3 days on this and i could spend a few hours more , so dont hesitate to point out bugs

# how to install
1.you must install clockworkrecovery
2. dowload the archive from the link above. extract the folder "bijoy91"and paste it in ur sd-card/clockworkrecovery/backup
3. reboot . go to recovery by pressing home , power and volume up button simultaneously. get into clockworkmod backup and restore. select restore. select bijoy91 . done.

it was already made by some repencis labs . i fixed the resolution and plenty of bugs. thats it.
nope no themes. the rom is faster compared to its counterparts.

Nice work. But an old kernel how much space and ram did it use? And if u want to tell it, which prog did u use to make it. Keep up the good work. Will test it asap

i included the latest kernel by rafael :\. ram consumption is like stock roms. depends on which bloat apps you decide to disable. i ve included system app remover as well

dude i am taking screenshots of my phone right now . its made from xxla4 gingerbread and morphed to look like ics without an external launcher app.

Oh sry, was confused of the date under the kernel. I use root uninstaller with some personal tweeks, like an empty host file or just one notification sound and font.

i guess 5 screenshots are enough ???? note the time its 12:11 shown on the lock screen when i was uploading it . thats enough proof i guess

Green is kind of cool....but can you try and change into the real ics theme....i.e. Blue and black

ahh blue and black reminds me of creeds 3.5 rom . the only issue after i fixed it is that you cant get internet settings automatically . if someone was to help but they often neglect newbies. i told many senior guys about creed 3.5 rom tho. this rom is much more stable than creed 3.5 and i felt. also creed 3.5 is based on xxla2 and xxla4 is classier , i feel

You forgot to wipe your contacts before you did a backup.

[MOD][Alpha v4 for bone stk now]SD Swap flash + initd For JB 4.1.2

I polished this for the xt907. It should work as is on the unlocked mb866. I have used Photon Q recovery & Rom Manager since I learned it was the first usable recovery for the Atrix HD.
Be sure to back up as it is untested on a mb866.
Adds initd support & SD swap. All storage defaults to storage0 (your real SD card) which is the way it should have been from Motorola, well closer anyway.
This internal SD ("data/media") memory now has no purpose. You can move what you want to your real SD & delete everything else to let the phone use it all.
UpDate I did not Know that TWRP 263 fails where Philz v6 succeeds.

My Thread for instructions on the odexed (good for deodexed roms too) version.
Odexed ver is for any rom as there is no UI or Framework mod. Just the initd & scripts

I have revised my SD swap method. Now you can flash this to any stock rom as you like. Wipe dalvik & cache only. Good for SafeStrap roms too. Not for cm based, multuser, or anything but 4.1.2 stock roms!

Always use Plilz v6 as it works as well as TWRP 263.
Always choose any NO when rebooting from CWMR.
Known issues:
Two things will Kill the SD swap: (by messing with install-recovery.sh)
1)Using TWRP older then v2.6 Or cwmr other than Philz v6.
2)If you boot from CWMR and choose yes to "disable recovery flash".
Also) If you mess with multiuser roms feel free to delete 0 , obb & legacy folders in internal sd (storage1).
One more) It is expected for your settings-storage info to be out of whack.
Finally) Create folder in root of the phone with Root Explorer results in an error but is the same as the Rabbit's version & of no consequence. The folder does get created anyway. All else works in the root of the phone.

If I did not already have an SD Swap already running,(I am on Holoblur with his sd swap) I would test this out. Do you think there is a chance for this to work on cm 11?

I will eventually make a flash out of the script posted for 4.3. There is an alpha I just through together.

HW keys stil do not work
Same for me, in spite the last update is mentioned to be fixed for the HW keys, I unfortunately have the issue and I did install from scratch... Please provide workaround.

how to remove app from phone to SD card?
i just use Dark CyanogenMod 7.0 for my Samsung S Advanve GT19070i.
its working good and i like it but i can't remove app from phone memory to SD Card.

Can you add tile color settings in this rom? I would like to know if there is a way to change tile background colour without any 3rd party apk ......... or if you could implement an option in settings like vanir rom does have.

Hi, using this rom since the first build. In the last two builds (4,5) there are glitches in stock browser, other applications (steamgifts) and happen randomly in settings menus as well. Reverted back to build 3, dCM 7.00, no glitches there. Any fix?

Hi guys what do I have to do to instal this rom?I downloaded gapps and rom and put them on sd card but when I enter recovery there is no option to flash from ext sd card?
I assume I have to root phone and instal custom recovery?If so there are some recovery threads but I opened one and that does not work and also what way is best to root my device since I am on 2.3.6

First you must update to JB. 4.1.2 with Odin.

I need to know how to access recovery image files( I need to edit the png files ) in dark cm rom. Please, URGENT HEEEELLPP!!!!! I want to finish this mod, so please guys, a little help would be more than welcome.

HEY GUYS TODAY THE REVIEW THAT WE ARE GOING TO SEE IS ABOUT THE BEANSTALK ROM.
THE ROM HAS ANDROID M LATEST 6.0.1[1 FEB 2016 SECURITY PATCH].
ITS MAINLY BASED ON CYANOGEN ROM.
THE PROS OF THIS ROM ARE
PROS:
1.Runs on marshmallow latest.
2.Best battery performer till now compared to other android m based roms.
3.Has root option in the developers option.
4.All cm themes runs without any lags.
5.Stock android experience and quite fast.
6.The fastest camera capture in this rom than any other.
7.Storage is good but we can accept this much in 4GB
internal storage devices.
CONS:
1.You have to use banks gapps no other gapps will work if u install any other than your phone will stuck on bootanimation.
2.Except bootanimation.zip no other zips can be installed like supersu.zip if u try then again it will stuck on boot.
3.Front camera function in the roms camera app sometimes never work even after rebooting ur device.
4.The developer of this rom has named the device name as "**** you".which isn't good when you have a windows 10 pc like i am having once plugged cortana will say "**** you connected ".so it is a con for me.
5.You should not turn off the developer option if did then no way to get it back even clicking the build number several times which means say bye to root.
6.You can't hide your lockscreen pattern.
SO GUYS THESE ARE THE PROS AND CONS BUT I WOULD LIKE TO CONCLUDE THAT THE ROM IS FAST BUT IS NOT THE BEST BUT I CAN ASSURE YOU THAT YOU CAN USE THIS ROM BECAUSE IT DOES NOT LAG IN ANYTHING AND DOESN'T HANG.I HAVE MADE A SIMILAR REVIEW IN ANOTHER SECTION TOO.
