Hi
Please help.
My Tablet I updated to jelly bean with the CyanogenMod which went fine of which I liked very much but could not get the USB working which I found out that it was a fault with that Mod so I went through the procedure of putting the backup on the tablet which went wrong .I am now stuck with a Tablet which is now useless,I have been reading this forum and they keep talking about Overcome Rom but I have difficulty getting to the Tablet memory to put the software in. I am 70 years old so please I would love some help
It is best to get a cheap sd card, be it 2GB. And a card reader/writer.

You dont need if just Gb stock safe.
Overcome is referring to the kernel and the Rom that team overcome made.

I got nookie froyo on my NC but am having a hell of a time getting cm7 on it. I know its easy as hell and its in front of my face but this NC talk is sometimes Chinese to me. I've tried Rom manager and downloaded cm7 and Gapps, hit clear data, delvic, backup current Rom.... it just reboots nookie froyo and doesn't backup or flash. If anyone could point me in the right direction to the easiest way to flash cm7 that would be a huge help to me. Thanks in advance.

Thanks. But I'm rooted and flashed cwm via Rom manager.... but when I try to go into recovery it just reboots nookie froyo. Maybe I need to wipe my card and do a fresh cwm flash via SD and boot up?

Then if I take my SD card out and reboot it, it goes to stock rooted 1.0. Without my SD nookie froyo wont stay until I put SD back in and reboot. I have all day off tomorrow (I own a restaurant and work 6 days a week) and will really get a chance to play with it and hopefully conquer it. Also how do I get into recovery? On the Evo its volume down and power.

I guess I need more info on what exactly you are trying to do....
Are you trying to install CM7 to your EMMC (internal memory) or do you only want to use CM7 on your SD card and boot to it when you want (keeping stock or something else as your EMMC)?
Some folks out there like to have the best of both worlds...keep stock on their internal memory and use their NC as it was intended by B&N, as an e-reader. Others (present company incuded) install CM7 to their internal memory and that is all I use on a daily basis.
Let me know which path you are aiming for and I will see if I can be of any help. Looks like you have been around the forums for awhile, so sorry if I am asking basic questions, I just don't want to steer you in the wrong direction. Thanks.
Cm7 on a daily basis. I have an ipad for an ereader (bout all its good for lol). I have cm7 on my Evo and nook world is much different.

I appreciate you taking time to answer my dopey questions. Over on the Evo forums I actually help people..... over here I'm a fish out of water (but I love the nook)

Have you run through this setup procedure?

Thank you so much Paul! I'm typing this from my cm7 nook! I am very familiar with cwm and getting used to the tablet. Thanks again.

Dude really... yu won't take the time to download a pdf manual? And you didn't even read up enough about it to know that it takes an SD card and not a microSD... please be a little more interested in it before you start trying to modify it... it will save all of us some head ache

Staxx is dangerous. it crashes like crazy. Flash it but keep abyss kernel and other ROM in sd card handy just in case. Try both and share your experience. All the best.and do not restore back up in either.go ahead.

Absolutely nothing wrong. I just went looking for my movie folder on my sd card. Nothing other then this. staxx crashed suddenly. What ever brief movement I spent on staxx I enjoyed it but I couldn't dare try it again at least not until I find out what I did wrong. Have you tried to access files on sd card through ol file manger that comes with this wrong. In the recovery I tried 'report error' option and the error was some thing like PATH TO SD CARD. Any ways I am happy you are enjoying it. Hopefully I will try once my confidence in the ROM is back.

Crash in this case means my note suddenly slipped into boot animation screen of paranoid and hung there for a very long long time. I had to shut down the phone by removing battery after rebooting. .. again I was struck. ..then I rebooted to recovery installed staxx again but I never got passed the boot screen. This is what I meant when I said staxx crashed.

P.A 0.5 is the one i use with Thor pre4 1.8 kernel....overall very good experience
I have tried flashing various roms and have come to the conclusion that my phone is knackered. What do you think?
Symptoms:
(1) When I go into cwm to flash a zip the phone thinks the internal sd-card is the external sd and can't locate the sd card
(2) Sometimes the phone doesn't boot
(3) Sometimes when I boot the applications I have installed are lost
(4) Sometimes when I try to install an app off the market the phone thinks there isn't enough space
(5) If I flash CM9 it comes up with the Encryption error message
My Solutions that haven't worked:
(1) Flashing stock rom jvu/jvz/jw4 with s1_odin_20100512
(2) Flashing EZbase 4 and Darkyrom Resurrection
Does anyone know how to fix my phone? Is it possible to somehow restore my phone to an 'out of the box' state?
Thanks in advance
I started having problems with /sdcard, last week after flashing a CM10 nightly.
Flashed JVU as a test and everything is fine.
Now back to CM10, but now after I boot I go into "storage" and click "mount"
No idea what's going on but I'm functional gain.
When you reflashed did you tick re-partition

No offence but could it be that you flashed an i9000 firmware on your i9003? Your signature says you got an i9003 so I'm a bit confused now... I'm not saying you're stupid, I'm just thinking in all possible directions
Nah, i am using someone else's phone lol! Mine is an i9000!

If I turn the phone on about 20 times it boots. Now on android 4.1 and seems stable if I keep it on. Think my phone must just be getting worn out

I really don't think it matters if it goes to internal or external. could be your signal was a little wonky and you got a bad download. always a good idea to check the md5 against the source before you install it. easy enough to do through root explorer.
In relation to this thread i just want to ask how can i update into JB coming from Overcome rom, what is the best custom ROM so far for the P1000
Any success, djerk?
My Tab2 7.0 is a GT-P3113 also, (rooted) and I would like to install Jelly Bean. Hoping to find someone who installed a stable JB version on same. Were you attempting JB? Did you find a way?
