[Q] Car Bluetooth problems - Xperia Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Since the 4.2.2 upgrade my cars Bluetooth (Audi A6) has not been able to access the address book or missed calls log etc. It will pair and receive calls hands-free, but no caller ID or able to view address book through the car interface. I have deleted the pairing on both the car and phone and done a new pairing but with no success.
Anybody else have this problem and found a work around.

Caller ID not working with my Parrot Bluetooth

Hows it going folks,
I was wondering if anyone has any fixes for the caller id over bluetooth. I tried it with and without the jetware program but the CID just doesn't seem to work correctly on the parrot display. Everything else over BT seems to work perfectly though. I hope someone has input for me.
Thanks
ILL
I don't know how the parrot works, but with my Pioneer BT-980 (I think that's the model #. It's the one with BT built-in) car stereo, it will only show the number, not the name, until I beam each phonebook entry to my cat stereo first. Once I beam each phonebook entry to my car stereo, then it shows the caller's name and number on the head unit. Maybe you need to do the same with the parrot?
search for jetware bluetooth.
a very interesting application that sends Caller ID(name) to your bluetooth device.
Works on tytn ii.
I have the Parrot 3200 and I get caller ID plus name announce when receiving a call.
I get name announced too on a CK3000 Evo.
But I'd like to know if someone managed to get the parrot to trigger the Kaiser's VoiceCommand (currently it just use the kit's internal voicetags memory)
Also, when I make outbound calls... my caller ID is hidden (no matter what settings is applied on the Kaiser)

Instant Messaging through car stereo

I have a JVC KD-BT1 stero in my car. It includes bluetooth support, which seems to be working fine for receiving phone calls. It's also supposed to support receiving instant messages (SMS) from the phone via bluetooth and display the message. Except I can not get this feature to work.
Has anyone been able to get the Kaiser to work with this feature? Not just on this model stereo, but with any car stereo that boasts this option.
I don't think the Kaiser supports this.... It really depends on the phone itself... I will keep an eye out as I am getting a Bury car kit which is supposed to have this feature in a few weeks, so will test it with by Blackberry and HTC...

Bluetooth car kit dialing does not work

I have a Dension Gateway Five Bluetooth car kit and it is working perfectly with other devices (HTC HD2 Android, HTC Sensation, Samsung S3).
With the RAZR i I can use it to pick up calls just fine but I cannot use the phonebook to dial out. I can also use the phone to dial out just fine.
But when I dial from my car stereo/BT it seems that it does not dial, but when I look in the call history I would see a call with a duration of 0 seconds. So it is dialing.....
I have even completely reset the car kit.
I have seen there is another thread here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2051863) about BT but it seems to be regarding a different issue and I cannot try the tool as I cannot root my device.
Any ideas anyone or same behaviour?
Regards,
KalleH
I have the same issue.
I have a Ford car and I connect my Razr I to my Ford car stereo via bluetooth. Before JB OTA update (I got it last week), Bluetooth was ok : I was able to manage my Razr I from the keypad of the Ford car stereo (dial, answer call, ...)
Since JB update, when I am trying to dial, it does not work if the screen is locked. However, if the screen is unlocked, I am able to use the phone from car stereo.
Even if the setting "Parameters -> Security & screen lock -> Allow Bluetooth bypass" is ON, it does not work ...
I eventually found how to get bluetooth working on my car stereo.
I just delete the pairing (in the car stereo and in the Razr I) and I did a new bluetooth pairing between my car and my Razr I.
All works fine now.

[Q] Bluetooth problem after 4.2.2

Since updating to 4.2.2 i have car bluetooth problems with my xperia z.
The phone connects to my car audio via bluetooth ok but unlike before i do not get the message "downloading phone data".
The music on my phone plays ok through my car audio as do my satnav apps. Received calls are played through my car audio aswell but the problem i now have is that my contacts (phonebook) do not transfer to my car audio so i have to dial from my phone.
Very randomly and rarely i do get the "downloading phone data" message and when this happens my contacts do appear on my car audio.
Anyone else have this problem or any ideas on how to solve it please?
Same here mate.
But there is a workaround you have to do every time you turn of the bluetooth: just go to apps->all->bluetoosh share and clear data. Then the phonebook and call log will be transferred to the car.
If you deactivates the bluetooth on the phone and activates again, the problem will return.
Hope it helps.

Car Bluetooth Contacts Sync Issue

Car Bluetooth Contacts Sync Issue
I have been using Venom ROM (ViperOne 6.1.0)
I am unable to sync my contacts with my car's (Ford Fiesta) bluetooth.
Everytime I receive or make a call, the Car's bluetooth just displays the number and not the name of the contact which is stored in the Contacts.
Please let me know how to resolve the same.
I have tried using other phones. All of them are working well with my car's bluetooth.
Please help.
I am not facing any bluetooth audio issues. Songs play smoothly via Bluetooth.
But Calling is where I am facing problems.
