JBQ leaves AOSP team :( - Nexus 4 General

It sucks to hear such horrible news.

Can't Google just buy Qualcomm so we can put this to bed?

They knew about this beforehand, they had issues getting the proprietary junk from Qualcomm for the N4. The sad part is there isn't really a viable competitor to the Snapdragon series that doesn't have the same problems.

So what's probably behind this thing? that Qualcomm is unable to provide working software to their hardware?

Basically Qualcomm not providing the GPU drivers.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app

The Adreno is a Qualcomm brand, though. I wouldn't expect ATI-AMD to release a new driver for my GTX 660.

It looks like JBQ implied that the reason is similar to whatever caused Google to remove the Nexus 4 images back in December. Back then, it was rumored to be due to Nexus 4 having the LTE option before it was removed. We know an LTE-enabled Nexus 7 is coming, so it could be related to that as well.

Botched?
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app

He's probably referring to JWR build instead of JSS.

It is pretty sad when the lead of AOSP feels forced to go because of all the BS legal wrangling.
And frankly, shame on Google for not getting this worked out YET AGAIN before launching a device. The whole point of the nexus line is a showcase for developers, and if the developers can't get the access to the files to restore their devices, then that point becomes moot.

Bummer for all...

so, in the tittle you ask if nexus 7 is a tablet, then in the message you affirm is not a phone.
Then, 4.2 will be untouched version of the 4.2 system.
I really don't think this thread is needed at all. Common sense can answer all you questions.
It is most definitely a tablet!
But I am not sure why I should be thrilled about multiuser management.
The thing with nexus 7 is that, while its no phone nor a 10", you always take it with you.
So in my opinion there is not much point in multiuser management for me.
But to come back to your question: IT IS A TABLET!
It's a Tablet that is obvious, also FYI for now on AOSP will share same UI regardless of if it's a phone or a tablet.

I can't predict Google anymore. When they released Nexus 7 without landscape support, who would think it's not a tablet? Do you remember people keep asking for tablet ui? Do you remember all kinds of hacks to make Nexus 7 a tablet?

Google chose the UI so anyone who isnt familiar with Android would have the same user experience between phone and tablet, sort of like the iphone and ipad. Multiuser accounts will be there, (one unified OS) people will have kids, spouses, nieces, and nephews no matter the size of the tablet.

Can some one please tell me how exactly this is good news? That's like buying a car with small trunk space and weak transmission then the same car makers release the exact same car with more trunk space and stronger transmission. But here's the kicker: there's no recalls, so you bought the first car and now you're gonna spend money and but the better version of the SAME EXACT FREAKING CAR! I want make a direct comment on this, but you're honestly not making much sense. That being said, I'll try my best:
People who bought the original Nexus 4 aren't also buying the new updated Nexus 4, it's more for the people who are on Verizon or Sprint, who are unable to use the Nexus 4 on that network. It's like releasing a European version of the car so that people in Europe can buy it, too, you know, with the steering wheel on the opposite side and fun stuff like that, keeping in line with the metaphor.
Not sure what you're referring to as the "weaker transmission" here either, but with regards to the "trunk space," no one was forced to buy the initial 16GB Nexus 4, as there was almost every other phone option out there with SD cards, etc. if you really cared about space. Plus, I feel most people like myself did know that a 32 GB Nexus was coming out months later during the I/O possibly, prior to buying the Nexus 4 as they did do this with the Galaxy Nexus as well.

besides you read it wrong) it says "devices that wil get klp" and then "we rounded up which devices are likely to get treted to google's shiny new os" meaning a smart guy chose some smartphones that he thinks will get klp )
And below this, there is "instruction how to get klp on your phone" and that you need to root it etc. It is not possible to get klp now, hell, klp doesn't even exist yet it's just some noob writing stupid things, and people that don't know that much about android would believe it.

LG Nexus 5 is a comin

This is just a made up report based on zero facts. Just like the Moto Nexus rumor. Until there is some real insider information, I wouldn't pay any attention to these rumors.
The thing about a "rumor" is anyone can say whatever they want and claim no responsibility if they are wrong. Being there are about 5 different "next" nexus rumors in this forum, most of these are just brain children of their authors.
Personally, I take everything with a spoonful of salt until Google announces the device.

Sounds familiar...
The G2 is to big
I like how much space is covered by the screen, but the overall size of the phone is to huge in my opinion. Maybe better a 5" screen?
Everything else sounds great for the same price of the N4. But 32GB would be nice.
Buttons on the side are a must. Those back Button are strange.

IMO Moto X design and size is great, but unfortunately everything else is dissapointment. I would like to see next Nexus will have similar design to Moto X, but better CPU (Snapdragon 600 or 800), and better body materials (Kevlar instead on Moto X's plastic).
