I tried to explaing you in the general thread
Link2sd doesn't free space, only link app's data to your sdcard

Just follow the following link...

After installing, reboot your phone and you should see an increase in internal memory.

running apps from sd card help

hello everyone
just got my 8g class6 card partitioned to ext2
running cm3.6.5 and it shows my card being partitioned.
now my question is, what else do i need to do in order for my apps to run from the sd card?? I'm very new to all of this and need some help.
i thought cm's build would automatically do this but i've downloaded apps from the market and they take up my available memory up so i'm missing something. hehe.
do i need a certain app to do this or commands of some sort?
I've tried searching the site but can't find simple to understand instructions.
Thanks again in advance for any help.

Nope, Cyan should automatically be doing it for you. Try rebooting the phone. If they are doing something, it should be in small amounts. How many apps/how much room remaining on the internal memory?
cool, thanks for the reply.
wierd thing is that when I had flashed cm's rom i had 73 MB on internal
I then installed the hero theme and that changed it to 69 MB.
reflashed the rom again to take off the theme and MB still on 69.
I just installed like 15apps and they are indeed on my 2nd partition! w00t
It's the data. Data doesn't reside on the SD. So if you browse the internet or market, you will notice you're internal mem go down. But you can fix that by just deleting the caches

There is no problem with ur phone or your sd card so dont worry
All your file when you link to sd it will be install on the DE-EXT not ur internal memory so it will not change.:victory:

Simple, your phone must be rooted, make partition in your sd card and install script like a2sd, link2sd, s2e or anything else.
Just searching in this forum.
Thread moved to Q & A, post in the relevant section next time.
Hi ! I was rooted my phone - ok , I was partitioned SD memory card 1st partition : 6GB fat32 and 2nd 1 GB , I was instal Link2SD and moved all all my apss to SD memory card but internal memory is still 181MB and used space is 120MB . In internal memory are instaled only : Link2SD 949kb , Market 9,1MB , SwiftKey 8.98MB , Transparent Weaher clock 7,52 MB . Rather than move apps, link them, create link, link app+dex+lib of apps. Then reboot. Then using a root explorer go to data/local and delete '.apk' files of those you already linked, then reboot again. Done.

2nd partition formatted ext3?
You are confused, no app, script or kernel actally makes a bigger internal storage. Internal storage is limited by hardware not software.
Some scripts affect the way internal space is reported, to show like you have more, but its not actually giving you more internal storage, it isn't real.
A partition on your sd card can be used to store data that otherwise stays on the internal memory. All apps and scripts use this principle through slightly different methods, but none of them can actually give you a bigger internal storage size.

i am one of who need this apps! but i think this is not good for the game need the tatiumbackup because when you try to restore the titaniumbackup data on your games, maybe doesn't work, because the titaniumbackup can't identifying the real file location of your data games!
read my second post, work like a charm, even if you change your rom,u can directly open the directory of the folder u put ur data on ur last rom..

app2sd

Rooted D415, app2sd seems like it moved apps to external SD but all moved apps remain in phone SD. Any way to move movable apps to external? Not all apps can be moved. Only 3.6GB available space.

I let the phone format a new card. Most likely FAT. Should i split SD into two partitions? Ext = exFAT?
