Hi all,
Once again, I'm back on this forum for asking questions about the HTC One Developer Edition, as its arriving (hopefully,) to my house tomorrow. I have a few questions to be answered.
1) The most important question- How do I root the Developer Edition? Please provide links, if possible.
2) Just to make sure from my previous post on this thread, ANY ROM on the forums "One Android Development and One Original Android Development" will work with the HTC One Developer Edition right? Take the ROM "Android Revolution HD" for example. I'm being extra careful because I don't want to brick my One.
3) Before rooting, I don't have to unlock the bootloader right, because I believe its already unlocked.
Thant's it for now! If I remember more, I'll post up another question thread.
Thanks in advance, again!

Hi, I have a Nexus One with firmware EPF30. What is the easiest and safest way to get Froyo running on this device?
I have read the stickys but just want to be certain as I don't wan to end up with a very expensive paper weight.
Am I right in thinking I can simpy unlock the bootloader and flash any froyo build onto it?
I have read the instructions on how to unlock the bootloader but still unsure how I would flash a ROM.
I am totally new to all this so apologise if I have asked a simple question.
Thanks in advance.
Lee
The sticky at the top of the N1 gen forum tells you in bold NOT TO ASK QUESTIONS.
Ask them in the Q/A section. Gen section is for news, tips only...
Moved to correct forum
Can I do a full dump of the phone b4 I play with custom ROM?
Thank you,
Please report your thread (by clicking the little triangle at the top of the thread) and ask this thread to be moved to HTC One X Q&A, Troubleshooting & Help.
Once it's been moved, you'll then be able to receive a better answer as this is the forum for HTC One (M7) and not the HTC One X.
My Bad, I meant HTC One (M7), NOT One X. Sorry.
I also would like to dump my rom before i play around with recoveries. Im using an unlocked 64gb dev edition.

"Best" ROM questions are not allowed!!!!! Please follow the rules.
And it's all personal preference, try a few and see which one you like.
I'm sorry, I'm still beginner, I know there's no best rom, just asked which one you advised me to install, I can't try more than one, I don't have 100 phone...
Anyway thank you!
Hello,
Under new forum rules, we now do allow comparison threads. So we will leave this open.

Sorry if these questions sound dumb, I'm coming from and HTC one M8 and when i owned it everything was already rooted and many ROMs out so it was fairly easy to gain information about that phone. I now have my phone rooted using PingPongRoot, does this mean I am now able to install custom recovery and get a custom ROM installed or is there something we're still waiting for with the at&t version?
No. We need an unlocked bootloader. Thank AT&T for that.

If you are a senior member, then you should know that questions belong in the Q&A section. Development is for development posts, not questions. This needs to be moved to said section.
Yes, absolutely, we can install touch wiz based roms, ala the att s5. We just need an interested developer. Anything non touch wiz requires a different kernel, which e cannot change due to the locked boot loader. I suspect since safestrap is dead, we'll have to use Flashfire. I've tried a couple roms from the general section already, but I couldn't get them to boot past the welcome sound.

Why is that? The lg g3 could run Optimus UI and CyanogenMod without an unlocked bootloader.
The question itself really does not make you seem dumb, the location of the question on the other hand..

Lmao and there's that... I didn't even notice when I replied. Lol
More than dumb. Posted the question in the General section under the thread titled: "Dump S6 AT&T stock ROM" started by gjimenez, post #25, and 4 minutes later started this new topic in the wrong section, with a copy & paste of that post, not following the forum rules. What a senior member!!!
You're all correct, I'll delete this thread, as it is in the wrong section. How do I remove this thread?
I think only a mod can delete it.

Hello everyone.
First i have been following xda for quite a bit now and the information that is found on this site is invaluable for noob (such as myself ) and seasoned veterans.
If this question has been asked i apologize and please move this thread to the proper place it has been reassigned to.
Ok with that said,I have htc desire 626 2 on the boost network, can i take a rom from boost also a htc device say the one or m9 rom and flash it to my device?
And just out of curiosity is it possible to take the boot image from the marshmallow rom and put it into the lollipop rom ?..
yes these are two separate questions and i am extremely into seeing and learning just how far i can go with my phone ,knowledge is power and i want to learn..im thirsty..and could someone point me to a link for complete noobs to start learning how to build roms etc...from complete beginner status..
thank you
Dave.
