[Q] HTC ONE UK EE to UK/EU Model - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

All,
I've been out of the Android loop for some time, I bought a HTC One M7 from T-Mobile UK (EE), it's a non contract/non payg model just the handset, I decided to switch providers and unlocked the phone with no issues.
However T-Mobile have modified the device somehow and locked the APN/MMS settings, I have put new ones in but it defaults to the T-Mobile (EE) settings, as I am using a Virgin sim card it sort of half works as it's on the same network. But I do not get MMS etc.
Also when I dial my voicemail it will no longer allow me to make calls until I remove the sim or reboot the phone which is annoying!
What I would really like to do is turn it in to a non carrier UK/EU device and get OTA updates from HTC.
I have looked and looked at information, but my head is fried, can anyone help me with this, OTA updates are important, I do not want any modified ROMS and I want to revert it to normal if I need to send it in for a repair.
Any advice would be gratefully appreciated.

[Q] Branded device, can't connect to 4G

DISCLAIMER:
I'm from Belgium and English is not my native language, I am aware that my English is not great so please forgive me.
Hello,
I recieved my HTC One two weeks ago after waiting 2 months. It was a pain in the ass to get the phone.
Here in Belgium the phone is still not for sale so I had to buy the phone on a site from the Netherlands (algebeld.nl).
Now, here is the problem:
I wasn't aware that I was able to recieve 4G LTE in my region until a few days ago, I didn't know this because I never recieved 4G on my phone. Aparently I should recieve 4G and looked into the settings and everything is set to recieve 4G, so my settings are not the problem.
Another thing I noticed was that I am still on older software and didn't recieve the latest update, I'm still on 1.29.111.11.
This concerned me so I did some research and it turns out (not 100% sure though) that my device is branded to T-mobile, even though it is an unlocked device.
So the reason I can't connect to 4G is (I think) the radio module is clocked at a different frequency so I can't recieve 4G.
I was under the impression that I was buying an unbranded device so this kinda blows...
No 4G isn't the only problem, I will also have to wait for OTA's a lot longer.
So my question is:
Is there a way to solve this? I could root my phone in order to get the latest software but still if there comes an update which updates the hboot, it will check my cid and there will be a chance I won't be able to update my hboot and install the update.
If I could just solve the cid problem it would be awesome because 4G isn't THAT big of a deal, but it would be even better if there was a way to recieve 4G or totally debrand my device. I don't know if there is a way to solve this through software since it's the radio module that has a different frequency and that's a hardware problem :s
Anyway, thanks in advance!

[Q] Question re repaired phone

My HTC One went through a washing machine cycle, and has just returned from being repaired under insurance. However, I have a few concerns about the replacement...
1) The phone I sent off was locked to the 3UK network, and had 3UK branding. However, the phone I've received back has Vodafone branding! My 3UK SIM is working in it, but I'm just concerned that I might run into problems down the line.
2) When switching the replacement phone on, it has downloaded a software update to version 3.63.161.6 A quick Google of this software version *seems* to indicate it's a Vodafone UK update. Again, I'm concerned I'm going to run into problems with this down the line.
So, seeing as how my 3UK SIM seems to be operating in a phone which has Vodafone branding, I'm thinking it could be an unlocked phone. Fair assumption? Other than trying a different network SIM in the phone, is there any way I can tell whether the phone is an unlocked version?
I'm after a bit of advice really, as I'm not sure whether to bring this to the attention of my network provider. Plus also I'm not liking the Vodafone branding! What would you guys be thinking?
EDIT - CID Getter reports the CID of the replacement phone to be VODAP001. My original 3UK phone had a CID of H3G_001

[Q] Phone not accepting Virgin UK sim.....or any other sim.

Hi all, I am in real need of some help here. I have a S3 Mini GT-I8190N. It is an unlocked 02 phone. I have a Virgin uk sim (rolling monthly contract). I simply do not understand why my S3 mini will not accept it. I've tried several custom roms. ( at this moment I'm using AOKP Golden KitKat) I've also tried various stock roms. Started by updating the original stock rom which came with the phone. No matter what I've tried my sim will not allow me to make/receive calls or texts. On one occasion it was allowing me on to the internet but still wouldnt let me make calls etc. The sim does work in other phones. I have tried a mates 3 uk sim and also an unused O2 payg in the S3 mini. Neither worked. I should also mention that the phone recognises the Virgin uk sims number and if I don't insert any sim it notifies me that sim is not present. I've been puzzling over this for a week and my head is battered. I should mention that whilst I am no genius, am I not an idiot. There must be something I'm overlooking. Unless of course the phone is just kapput. If anyone out there has had a similar problem with Virgin sim or can offer me any advice then please let me know. This is beginning to make my teeth itch!!! Cheers.

[Q] AT&T-branded M7 can't call on T-Mobile

I've got an AT&T M7 which I'm trying to use on T-Mobile. I've carrier unlocked it through AT&T and, with the T-Mobile SIM in, I am able to get "data". Data is in quotes there because even though I see bars I can't actually get anything. Also calls and MMS don't work. SMS works reliably though.
I've made sure the only APN is one with the settings specified on T-Mobile's website.
I saw someone on the T-Mobile help forums recommending flashing with the T-Mobile flavor RUU offered on HTC's site. I downloaded it, but it doesn't seem to recognize my phone (I assume because it's checking for some sort of T-Mobile signature?)
Anyhow, if anyone has dealt with this before, I'd appreciate any advice.
For reference for anyone dealing with this in the future, it ended up being something on T-Mobile's end. They had me turn the phone off while they reset something in their infrastructure. When the phone came back up, it was able to call.

How to Install Stock TMobile ROM to Note 9

Hi guys, I bought a used Note 9. The seller assured me it was gotten through TMobile and when I look at the package it came with, it has T-Mobile items in it
However apparently he inserted an ATT sim in it which apparently wiped the OS and made it AT&T. I have never heard about this sim profiling before. Right now, I cannot recieve SMS despite using the correct APN settings
What I want to do now, because I have no access to a TMobile sim is to try and install over this ROM with a TMobile ROM. How can I do this?
I was able to use ODIN in conjuction with N960USQU4ETF3_N960UOYN4ETF3_TMB which I got from Sammobile but the phone still has AT&T software instead of defaulting to TMobile. Why is this? It still acts like an AT&T phone despite me flashing over the OS
