So it seems like whenever I send pictures from the front facing camera or pictures from the internet they send fine but for some reason (excuse my lack of tech savvy lingo here) when I send "high quality" pictures or maybe larger pictures I guess? taken with the camera they never go through. I'll upload some for example

I am using ViperRom 1.0.2 and I was wondering how to send screenshots via MMS, possibly viewing them from the gallery as well?

Snap a screen shot by holding power button and clicking the volume button. It will save to gallery and you cand send pic via gallery

I use power and home but does not save to gallery.

Hold power and volume for a few secs. It gives you a quick link in notification panel to view it in gallery.
Also, it probably is in gallery. Click events at the top of gallery and change it to albums. It took me a second to figure that one out.

Haha wow ty lol...

No problem. Like I said, it took me a minute to figure it out. I, for one, think it should be default unless going to gallery from camera

This wasn't happening when I first got the phone but now it is happening all the time when I receive photos through messages. Downloading other sms apps doesn't work either. Please help if you can. What's the point of having such a big beautiful screen if I can't use it all.very frustrating

I remember seeing a post about removing the grids on contact pictures but I can no longer find the page. Anyone know how to do this?

Oops I probably put this in the wrong section sorry

Removing the contacts picture and re-adding it, usually works.

The reason the grid is there is for pictures with low resolution that are pulled from Google's contacts or Facebook. You could alternately set your own picture of the person to fix it.
They say it's because the picture is low resolution but it even even does it for high resolution pictures. If I flash a AOSP rom right now every single contact picture will re sync with the HQ picture I have stored in Google contacts. But on a sense Rom maybe 1 or 2 will re sync in HQ. I've even re added every contact on my phone with a local HQ pic which works as long as you don't flash another Rom cause once you do the grid will be back. It's definitely a Sense issue, I've spent a hour or more making sure all my contact pics are HQ but it makes no difference on a sense Rom.

Yea it seems to be a sense "feature" because all my contact pictures are HQ as well. The ones that are linked to Google plus accounts are high resolution and they still show with the grid.

First and foremost Thanks for this, i can confirm it works. Only question is; If this is a known issue, why isnt this fix implemented in the roms being cooked for our devices ? Would seem logical, wouldnt it ?

Seems to be a sporadic thing. I don't see this on my HQ photos.
Yea I do not have any grids on any of my FB linked contacts but my google one does have the grid.
I've created an HTC zoe video on an HTC phone and attempt to share this video using HTC share and I get "video not supported" really?
Anyone else got this?

it will only upload pictures no videos (including zoe). It is as designed. hopefully they change that
Blimey. Half baked idea! Thanks for the reply.

This sounds like an extremely obvious problem with an extremely obvious solution but the thing is my Nexus 4 handled it like a champ. What gives?
As always thanks in advance and love you all!

Each device will work very differently. You can not compare it to the n4. Having that many messages restored is never advised.
Bat cave One
obviously it would lag with 17000 messages on HTC Sense Messaging app
Nexus 4 Stock Messaging app is quite light, that's why it handles them smoothly; IMO :silly:
why not deleting some messages
try any other messaging app from PlayStore, like 8sms
I use chomp on the Nexus 4 and now on this as well. It is strange that chomp will lag with the One and Not the Nexus 4 which is technically inferior.

Its not if your running a non sense rom. The nexus was made to run AOSP roms as to where the one was not. Also your transfering them from one device to another. This can cause issues due to diff in the system.
I see so I have no other choice but to delete my texts?

You could try other apps to see how they fair but in the end yes I think your gonna end up deleting some of the texts. To be honest none of the sms apps are really made to handle a messaging data base that size. I have noticed after about 500 they start lagging.
Thanks man I'm going to delete them all now.

Out of curiosity, how long did it take you to amass 17,000(!) texts?
3 years haha!
