i found my year old galaxy mini s5570 a few weeks ago..it was running the good old froyo 2.2.1...i rooted it and updated it to 2.3.6 and rooted it again...after the update my computer started giving me error "USB Device not recognised" whenever i connected my phone. I tried booting it in download mode and recovery but the computer says the same error. My device is unable to get into recovery but download mode is accessible....i have tried the usb fix which involves a gentle lifting of the toungue of the micro-usb port........i was trying again and again to reach recovery and suddenly i was able to access it (Stock recovery).i did a wipe data and a wipe cache and since then my phone is stuck at the screen where it says "Samsung" and underneath it "www.samsungmobile.com"....thats all i seei cant get past it and now again i am unable to access the recovery.....IS IT BRICKED AND WHAT IS THE SOLUTION..
SORRY FOR SUCH A HUGE POST BUT I THOUGHT DESCRIBING ALL THAT HAS HAPPENED MIGHT HELP......
i have the proper device drivers and the cable is also fine (Tried switching cables and it did not help).
Windows 8? And as long as you have download mode try reflashing stock GB and avoid windows 8 with flashing.

Hey there,
Got my moms Galaxy over here. Thing wasn't updated and slow as hell so I thought I'd update it. Went through the Kies process but that didn't really work, phone just couldn't make connection despite what ever driver I used (win or mac, got both here).
So first things went haywire when I read somewhere to flash recovery I needed to do something via Heimdall. Did that with the command window and afterwards the phone got stuck in a bootloop (only the I9000+samsung repeating over and over again).
Then I tried flashing GB from samfirmware, which failed. All done through odin, the screen went purple at dbdata.rfs. So I went with stock froyo, from the androidworld.nl forums and same thing happens but now it's a blue screen at factoryfs.rfs.
What am I doing wrong?
Try flashing again via Odin and this time don't touch your pc while it is flashing. That yellow purple screen has happened to me while I was doing other things while flashing was going on in the background.
And check if your phone is i9000 or i9000+ and flash the their respective firmware .

Same thing, didn't do anything and screen went gray. This is so random for me, as flashing is SO easy with my own Desire but this thing is on a whole different level.

Actually did both already! The 1.3 was from the 2.2 pack from the Dutch forum. Got 1.82 from the samfirmware website. No luck yet
1.82 shows a bootloader function, do I need to have one of those files with it?

I was about to try this actually! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1196179
Since the screwup started with Heimdall, might fix it with that?
Watch a YouTube video and see if you're doing everything properly.
What I do is
1. Go to download mode
2. Open Odin, select pit, PDA, phone, CSC files. And remember to check the re partition option
3. Connect your phone
4. Click start.

Maybe. I never used heimdall. Maybe you could try that.

Doing all that yeah, exactly in that order.
Hmmm. Then I guess heimdall is your only hope ,since it started the problem.

Hmm, in Heimdall it gets all the way up to MODEM @ 59%. Then it fails and crashes..
weird

Hm, no. It's a replacement cable (cheap) which I used for my Desire, no problem with that at all. Though it might be it indeed! Will be two days before I can get the original cable.
In the meanwhile I got CWM-based Recovery v.5.0.2.6 working.. while installing cyanogenmod it goes "checking blm status", then "install from sd complete".. a bit strange and it doesn't boot into the rom but into the recovery.

Can I still use Odin then, now with CWM recovery?
You can use Mobile Odin by Chainfire (look for it in the market), it works exactly as an Odin built-in your SGS with no need for PC.

Well it's a Samsung Galaxy S3 LTE i9305. Bought in Hong Kong. This happened after I flashed cyanogenmod. Odin said PASS but then the device booted and it stayed in download mode. I can access CWM recovery but that's it. I've tried installing a .zip version of CM but it gives me error status 7.
What about restore?

Wipe phone in recovery format sdcard system data and cache .
Boot to download mode flash stock rom via Odin .
How would I go about doing emergency recovery? The drivers on my pc don't seem to be working as my phone doesn't show up.
Now my phone won't go into recovery mode. It just runs the CF Auto Root installer which doesn't do anything.

I've tried but it didn't work. I also tried to troubleshoot the usb cable connection but all that did was claim it had fixed the problem. I still can't detect the device. I think I installed some third-party driver before but I did a system restore so they shouldn't be there anymore.

I'm having this problem now. I tried to update to the latest BTU model that I found on sammobile, but now I'm stuck in download mode, and it won't allow me to flash a new ROM. My phone is soft bricked right now. How can I get it to work?
Hello,
first i want to excuse me for my bad english, i hope you will understand my problem.
I have a rooted GT-S5830 with Froyo (2.2.1).
The plan was to install CWM and then a custom Rom.
I've downloaded CWM 5.0.2.6 for the Galaxy Ace, renamed the .zip to update.zip (it doesn't work while it was named CWM_XXXXXXX.zip), copied it to SD-Card and installed it via the original Recovery Mode.
The Installation went well, i rebooted the phone and everything was fine.
Now the problem: I can't go to the Recovery Mode.
Every Time I press Home and Power, my Phine stuck at the second SAMSUNG-Logo and, after a few minutes, it boot to the"normal" Mode.
I've tried to do an update via KIES, but my Notebook says that the Phone will not be seen in Download-Mode...
Odin didn't see the Phone (same Problem...Download Mode...)
So... Is there any Idea to restore the Recovery Mode or renew it or... whatever.
Thank you all
greetings
stanse
now everything is broken...

Here is the link on how to install stock Gingerbread rom using odin along with all firmwares. Go to the "Preparations" section and download all the necessary files including drivers. When your notebook cannot detect the phone, its usually the drivers. To go to the download mode, hold Vol Down+ Home + Power button until you see "Downloading..." in the screen.
Flash stock rom on Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 using odin
Once installed, go to recoverymod and do a wipe data/ factory reset & wipe cache (otherwise bootloop might occur). Then restart. Now you have successfully flashed the stock rom. Here is the link for rooting and installing CWM 5 on Samsung Galaxy Ace,

Thank you for your post.
The biggest problem is that the phone will not be shown in download mode, so Odin says that there is no phone connected.
I have tried 3 different driver packages...
The link to Samsung says that the phone (GT-S5830) is too old for letting me download any driver.
I think that everything will work when the phone will be recognized by computer..
Thx

I've done exactly what you say nearly hundred times, with different driver packages, different computers, different cables, yesterday, today, at morning, afternoon and evening. I don't know what to do now...
I think that it is a driver fault, but no chance to fix it.

simple solution to yr problem. reinstall kies, or if you dont ve it install remember to stay connected to internet, when kies ask if u want to install driver for bada or other models check the box. the next time u connect yr phone in download mode yr drivers will be installed... or if u can get another working ace connect to yr pc to geet the drivers installed.

I don't know what you mean by connecting to Linux. But if you meant using odin in Linux, then well it will not work even with Wine. Wine doesn't work reliably with things that need hardware connections.
I was installing a Custom ROM, then it failed. I searched for "reboot now". Now I have a Black Screen and I can't do anything, even get in Download mode.

You did maybe try flash a Custom ROM that was NOT compatible with your phone model. Your /system and/or (maybe) boot partition (Kernel) are overwritten, it means your phone is without OS system. Try USB jig to access download mode.
A important note for you, mate. If a installation process failed in recovery, do NEVER reboot your phone, restore your backup instead!!
