I just flashed the newest daily build of cyanogenmod on my nook HD+, via a wipe/flash from clockworkmod. That works fine. However when I attempt to flash the Gapps, the procedure goes through as if they are installed, but they do not show up as apps on the system. I have tried wiping data and flashing again, wiping the dalvik cache and flashing, but nothing seems to be working. Any ideas?

What do you mean as apps on the system? Which apps are you expecting to show up?
Sent from my Nook HD+ running CM10.1 on emmc.
I just put the latest CM 10.1 on my Nook HD+ a week or so ago and I think (and I may be wrong) but it only installed Google Play in order for me to get the rest of the apps (gmail. youtube, etc.)
None of the google apps appear. Not Playstore, not gmail, I don't even have the ability to add a google account. I tried the 8-12 nightly build, so now I'm going to try the 8-13 build to see if maybe it will work....if not any ideas?

I followed the steps to the letter in this thread here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2317500 except I used the 8/1/13 build and it all worked flawlessly. Maybe wipe it and try starting over.

I am running Gigglebread 7.0.2 on my T-Mobile N1. I am getting ready to go to Italy for a few weeks and wanted to see what would happen to my phone with another carrier's SIM. So, I inserted the AT&T SIM from my work blackberry and had some issues, but got it working after the APN was sorted out.
When I swapped the T-Mobile SIM back, all of my Google accounts had forgotten their credentials. I rebooted once just to see and no change. So, I thought, easy, restore nandroid from earlier in the day. The restore went fine, no errors, no wipe of cache or dalvik only now I appear to have no gapps (no market, unable to add google accounts, shortcuts on desktop don't work). Again, no problem. I've seen this before so I wiped cache and dalvik from CW 2.5.x recovery and installed dta2sd (sometimes it helps) and then 20110307 gapps. Reboot and still no gapps functionality.
So, I brought out the bigger hammer (after a couple of tries at gapps install) and wiped data/factory, dalvik, cache partition, restored nandroid, reboot. Still no gapps. Repeated the same wipe, restore nandroid, install dta2sd, install gapps, reboot. Still no gapps.
Now I'm getting desperate. Less than 72 hours till plane leaves! I next changed to AmonRA recovery and wiped, various nandroid/gapps/dta2sd combinations and still no gapps functionality.
Switched to CW 3, yeah, I know... And wiped cache, dalvik, factory/data, and even formatted system. Various installations and it still refused to install gapps.
I next tried the CW 2.x factory/data wipe, dalvik, cache, and then installed Gigglebread 7.0.2, dta2sd beta4(like always), and gapps 20110307 and rebooted. As expected, sterile phone, touch android, and then I'm prompted for google account. I skip that and sure enough, market is back and I can add google accounts.
AUGH. Unless someone has a suggestion, I'm probably going to have to do a full reinstall tomorrow. I've been wanting to do it, but not this close to a trip.
On a side note, is it normal for a swap of the SIM card to wipe out my account settings? I will make sure from now on that my TI b/u is up to date.

Infuriating as it is, especially as you must have so much to do already, a re-install might be best at this point. Trying to troubleshoot and avoid doing this could just mean more wasted time in the long run.

Yup, already on that path. I fell asleep last night or I would have finished. I did manage to get a TI backup of many of my apps (gmail especially) so hopefully I won't have to set those back up again since I'm using two-factor auth on all of them (10 accounts) and don't want to go through the process of invalidating and recreating the app specific passwords again.

I am also facing the same problem now.
I was on Cyanogen Mod 7.0.3 when some application weirdly started building up data on system storage. There was only 16 KB of space left and it became un-responsive. So I restarted it, only to find the looping Cyan logo.
Fortunately I had a backup from 15 days back, which was CM 7.0.2. So, I flashed that and I thought I am back. But, I found Market was not working, in fact it was not even showing up in the app list. Also, Contacts data was wiped out and when I tried to check out the account and settings, google account option itself was not showing up.
I tried flashing 7.0.3 + latest gapps package using Rom manager, that did not work. I tried a clean wipe and flashed 7.0.2 from my backup, no effect. Then flashed latest gapps again, no change.
It is frustrating now. It looks as if google is not supporting my device anymore.
Any suggestion is welcome.
Did you check md5 from your gapps package?
You said you were using ROM manager so I suppose you are on cwm but are you on cwm 3.x or are you on cwm 2.5.1.4? If your on 3.x then downgrade if not then maybe try Amon-RA with temasek system wipe maybe just making a clean install of your recovery might fix it.
Also you might want to try flashing from recovery instead of ROM manager. Just for the fun of it.
Might also need to partition sd card again as CWM 3.0 probably fubar it.
My boot went corrupt with CM 7.0.2. I was able to restore to stock with no problem, but everytime I attempt to install CM 7 (stable or nightly), I get a black screen except for a little white/light blue line in the upper right corner.
I use the 3.0.0.5 Recovery with the directions in the following link.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=949699
Does anyone have an idea why this happens? I do remove the SD recovery card, and insert a blank SD card before rebooting.
Any help would be much appreciated!
Use 3.0.2.8 recovery
Thanks, I'll give that a shot right quick.

Tried it and it boots back to the black screen with the line in the upper right corner.
Here's what I did.
Made the bootable sd card, copied over lastest build of cm7 and gapps.
Installed zips.
wiped data.
switch sd cards, rebooted
also tried it w/o wiping data.
Is there anything I'm doing wrong?
Wiping cache?

Should I do that before or after installing the zips?
wipe system, data, cache, then flash zips

Just tried that, no dice. It's still going back to the same screen.
Download the cm7 again, might be corrupt

Just downloaded a stable release, and it works. Is there any reason why the Nightly 80 wouldn't work, even after re-downloading it?
I'm also dealing with the same issue as well. The problem started when I tried to update from nightly 76 to 77. I also tried to flash to nightly 80, but no luck. I'm flashing a stable release now.
Edit: Flashing the stable release also worked for me. However, I wasn't able to flash the latest nightly over the stable build.
Yep.
Same problem here.
The stable works, boots fine, but the nightlies won't boot.
They go into the same flashing blue line.
I tried all the advice I could find, wipe system, cache, data and tried restoring to stock, still no dice.
I am using CWM 3.0.2.8.
I'm just a different flash method (verygreen's SD install), but found that nightlies beyond 75 won't boot without installing the .32 OC kernel. There's a discussion in both cyanogenmod experimental nook forum and in the dev forum here about it.
I guess I'll just wait until they resolve the issue then. I was really wanting to see how well the deep sleep worked.
Finally got the latest nightly from today with OC kernel and gapps. Running great so far. Just waiting on market being able to download.
I am not able to install google apps on my hp touchpad. after a month or so after messing with classicnerd and cyanogenmod and it getting stuck in a boot loop, i picked it up again and tried wiped everything, now CM9 the latest nightly works great but whenever I try to install the google apps pack, it freezes. I have tried from recovery and RomManager with rebooting. both freeze with the exclamation point in a triangle. I could do it before and it is the latest version of both.
Is there something that I am doing wrong?

Never have had to use it but there's some type of gApps fixer you flash that may help solve it. Can't remember what its called or where its at but shouldn't be hard to find.

Here's the gapp fixer utility link : http://www.tabletsupportforum.com/forum/showthread.php/1645-Gapps-amp-Gapps-Fixer-for-CM9-(ICS)
I have used it and it worked fine for me. Good luck.
Thanks for the advice and help and I wish I could say it helped. Not that it is wrong, but almost as soon as I posted this I tried to download and install the google apps from RomManager. I don't know why I thought of it since on my other devices I use Amon-RA for recovery and I dislike clockworkmod and don't ever use RomManager. Lo and behold, it worked! I was very surprised but after updating things still work fine today.
Glad to see it worked for you.
Another option I would have recommended would be to install the GooManager App (from www.goo-inside.me) and tried that. It'll grab the latest GApps for you, too. And it allows for incremental ROM downloads, so you don't have to always get the 100+ MB ROM file every day (if your ROM author supports that).
I searched for this particular problem, but did not find a solution.
My Nook Color was running fine with CM10 nightlies so I thought I'd try CM10.1. It installed and worked fine, but it was a bit too buggy for me so I reflashed back to CM10 the same way I always have. Now it just sits at the spinning Cyanogen logo. I wiped the proper caches and redid the installation several times - no luck.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

Did you wipe data/factory reset? Once you have run CM10.1, you need to do that to go back to CM10. In fact, it is good to wipe /system too, especially if you installed the newer gapps.

Thanks Leap. Wiping data was it. Very appreciated!
So I followed all the steps here:
hxxp://rootzwiki.com/topic/31548-rom-guide-how-to-install-android-on-the-hp-touchpad-the-easy-way/
and installed Evervolv AOSP Android 4.3.1 JB (20131110).
I am having issues with Google Play store, where it will only show like 2 applications/games.
I have checked gmail and it works fine.
I tried changing the dpi, but it resets right back when I reboot.
Any help?

I am having the same issue. I am unable to update gapps or the nightlys via the touchpad from CWM. When I do there and select install from zip file, there are very few files on the sdcard and no zips at all. When I go into the evervolv updater in settings I can see the path where the files are downloaded, but cannot access them for some reason.
I should mention that when I went to the nightly 2014.04.10, it bricked my TP. The touch screen failed to work and when I did a reboot it bricked. I unbricked it via tpdebrick-v004. Since the recovery my gapps have not worked and there are few files on my sdcard, and none that will flash via CWM.
I'm not sure where to go from here aside from doing a full reinstall.
Ideas?
