I saw this in the evo 3d forum wanted to spread the word

Today, Congress holds hearings on the first American Internet censorship system. This bill can pass. If it does the Internet and free speech will never be the same. Join all of us to stop this bill.

I live in the real world. Give me a few million dollars and I'm sure I can usurp your useless thread about this. The only thing that matters to them is who's donating and how much.
Whether I vote or not has absolutely nothing rinding with what I said.
You think its odd that it took a bunch of Mega corporations to instill doubt in some of them?

That would be good. I doubt it would happen, but it would be good if it did. I'd put AT&T behind me for a Google wireless carrier when my contract is up.
Take a look at this article

After reading the article I think it would be fantastic if google buys tmo.

I was browsing when I found this app. It creates a virtual credit card which you can use to buy in app purchases infinitely

MOD-EDIT: Link to warez removed
Man in all seriousness this shouldn't of been posted, I know we are friends and all. But this is promoting piracy and warez, which isn't allowed on the XDA forums. I think maybe this is one of those things you keep to yourself lol, don't share it man, it's gonna be bad news for you, because of the mods.
Thread closed because of warez. OP will hear from me.
Because on his PERSONAL site he linked to adfly.
Rules are made to keep things into boundaries and rules are needed, but the reason why Huexxx his threads are closed i can not agree with.
If adfly is not permitted on xda i think you stand in your right to lock the thread when they are put directly on xda. But this is not the case here. They are on his personal site. That's why I don't think you are even remotely in your right to regulate the content of someone his personal blog or site. Because it's PERSONAL.
You are not the ones to put any kind of censorship on someone his personal site or blog, unless the content linked to or placed there is illegal by law.
My opinion about this is that all threads that are closed for the same reasons should be reopened.
All i can say is, welcome to little Chin(XD)a.
Regards.

I think you are approaching the subject from a little narrow angle. And rules are rules. And the rule goes like this : "Off-site downloads are permitted if the site is non-commercial and does not require registration." XDA is not designed for profit making, so moderators put rules like this. Personal opinions are irrelevant. I don't mind this kind of thing either. Waiting 5 seconds is nothing for me. But rules are rules, and if you are here then you have to respect them.
I only wish Huexxx wasn't offended by this thread closing, we are all looking forward for his ROM.

Not designed for profit making....
Have you ever opend the site from a desktop / laptop?
The site is sooo slow because it's stuffed with commercial banners. I think they should change the line in as long as xda can't profit from it it's not allowed... ect.
And i stick with my opinion btw. Even if it might be narrow minded.
Edit: i know the rule you quoted, and i still think that xda is not someone who has any power over content placed on people's own private websites. Unless they can show me an official document that says otherwise. If xda does not have this, the only content they should worry about is the content on xda itself. Not somebody his personal "private" space wich is not related to xda forums.

I totaly agree with you ! :good:
I highly agree with you, Duumke1.
Closing Huexxx threads is only harm for OB users, as we don't have any other dev that is working on offical ics base.
(I know about Trasmusic, but he uses IZS as base). And as you mentioned before without adblock site is useless, slow and overloaded with ads.
So XDA is place to make money but not for developers... Personally i can only hope that Huexxx won't abandon our phone - we can make for free simple forum beyond xda. Just my 2 cents.
Regards and all hail Huexxx!!!

Just like you i hope Huexxx doesn't stop making roms for our device. I also know that xda probably need the ads to keep the site running.
If some of the income they make from those commercial banners goes to the devs here, they actually would be in their right to put up rules like discussed above, but because this is not the case i even think xda is in error by locking threads from Huexxx or any other thread closed for similar reasons.
In my opinion they don't have the right to do this if the content is not directly placed on xda forums.

They dont closed the Thread for Huex Blog links, they closed cuz somebody put ad.fly links in it, the thread is old enough, so, isnt about Huexxx blog, is about other members giving links to Ad.Fly.

Then they should have notified the users who did so and removed those links and give the users a warning, not close the whole thread.
An owner of a thread is not responsible for the content placed in it by other users unless they give the thread owner the ability to personally edit comments placed by others.

@Duumke1 They are the Mods, There are rules, if nobody read the rules before post whatever, we should stick to the consequences. They dont close threads for fun.

That makes even less sense.
The users who put the links should be warned, not the thread closed.
And it off curiosity, if xfa rule is to be observed, I love to see a non ad-sponsored download host that can take a lot of simultaneous downloads.
They all make you wait suggesting that paid membership is fast, instantaneous, etc.

The job of a moderator is to check and see if the content of posted threads comply to the rules. If it dies not, warn the people who are in error and mod their posts so they comply to those rules. Locking down threads because not the thread owner but other people violated those rules is just a easy/fast way of doing your job as a moderator in my opinion.

So, why start a Topic claiming for a thread closed, instead pming to the Mod who closed it?

If you read everything you should know this question is obsolete, because it is a shout out to the moderators and the above mentioned rule of xda.

And Mexicano, don't take it personal but I'm just speaking my mind here.
Sent from my LG-P970 using xda app-developers app
Ok lets me just confirm the reason for the thread being closed, and i will then concider the matter closed.
1. The use of a personal website to host the downloads and infomation for your Rom is allowed.
2. You CAN NOT use XDA to make money, simple.
3. Ad-Fly is a way of making money through referal, so those download links are not allowed on XDA.
4. If you host your Downloads on your Website, but those download links are Ad-Fly referals, then you are breaking XDA rules by just having a link to your personal website on XDA.
Result - Links to website have to be removed from Thread, as you are using XDA to make money with those links and thread has to be closed as the links are removed from the thread.
Thanks
The-Hulk
Oh, Thread Closed
