Don't think there was every any mention of it through the official website under specs.
Nope no wireless charging. Only one that does is the new Droids. (atleast the Maxx does)
Then I'll quietly hope the new nexus fits

The Nexus 4 is Qi enabled as well – not that it helps the Moto X users.

Yep. This is due to the curved custom battery and back, whereas the droids have a flat back.
I had a nexus 4 for about 3 months and ended up selling it off. I'm a field tech and travel into a lot of fringe areas and I was really unimpressed with its signal reception.... Yes, I had the correct APN and I'm actually using a unlocked gnex right now and it has much better signal. My gnex does have qi charging since I modded it to support it.

Clearly they have no idea at all. They don't even appear to have a phone, it is probably just someone's blog. They show zero proof that it does, also everything has pointed to it not having it unfortunately.

That was for NFC.
I looked at the ifixit too, def no coil heavy enough to be a receiver coil.

I noticed in looking at the most recent Bionic pic's that there were prongs that indicated wireless charging capability....so of course I took the back of my D3 and I see prongs there too.....so I have to ask....does the D3 have the same capability?
yes, you can buy the charging pad and get the required back cover from Verizon.
Don't quote me on this but I believe it is also possible to use the moto inducting backplate with a Powermat or an energizer pad.
Sent from my DROID3 using XDA Premium App
It definitely works. I have bother the wireless charging pad and the inductive battery cover from Verizon and it works. The only problem is that it adds a bit more thickness than even the extended battery cover.
This is why I have been holding off on buying one.. I have a powermat, but I don't feel like buying it online and having it not work, been waiting to check it out in store then be able to take it home and take it back if it doesn't, though like you said I also believe it is possible.. Looking forward to my local VZW store to get them in... They don't have crap accessory wise around me..

Does anyone have any information about a wireless charging option? I mean the s3 was supposed to have it but until now nothing and I fear for the note

Not yet aviable an im sure it will never arrive
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app
Can you elaborate please? I mean the only reason I'm asking is for instance the S3 has been announced with it, so I guess the NoTe2 has the aptitude. plus as you can see on the picture there are two vacant connector pins which are quiet similar to the Nfc ones. It should be their purpose no?
Sent from my GT-N7100 using Tapatalk 2
We know the S3 was announced with it, but it still isn't available in most of the world. Samsung is being very slow about it, and seeing how the S3 does not have a proper one yet, the Note 2 probably won't see one anytime this century.
I found this on eBay.

That's a Palm Pre Touchstone unit, which you can buy for about a fifth of that.
S3 thread on the subject of wireless charging. Did it to my S3, worked fine, just made the standard back bulge a bit with the induction unit was all.

Yes the note2 has wireless charging.
You just need the unit.
Since the Note 2 uses a higher mA rate, will the currently available wireless chargers be effective? It worked on the GS3 due to a lower charging rate I assume. I saw posts where people stated they used 1A chargers from prior devices and it hardly charged their Note
2 at all.
Edit - I just realized a few minutes ago, you can use the 2A wall plug from your Note 2 right? Lol

If the touchstone wireless charger charges at 1amp with its original palm charger, will it charge at 2amp if I connect the galaxy note ii charger to it?
Also wondering if I applied the palm coil to my note ii, will I be able to charge it wirelessly with the 2amp hp touchpad touchstone dock charger?
Mmmmm
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app
The touchstone will charge the note 2 from 0 to 100% in about 6 hours. Most likely a different adapter connected to the touchstone won't make any significant difference

Seems the wait is almost over
So does this confirm then that the panel on the back of the Note II is ONLY the NFC antenna not a combined NFC and induction charging panel, as some people are claiming?
I did wonder what the other two connectors were all about, now it seems clear THEY are where the induction coil will attach if you have the official kit.

I have also had for about a month and love it. First wireless charging experience.
Fwiw I don't use a case on the G2.

After 1month, I finally noticed that the tylt charger does not fully charge the phone like the wall charger. My hypothesis is that it stop charging once it reaches 100% whereas the wall charger continues charging it.
Battery life isn't as good when charged using the tylt vs the factory supplied.

Yeah, I have a feeling of it does make it to production, the metal base probably will not. It'll still be pretty nice with a plastic base.

How is the magnet supposed to keep the phone on the charging pad without damaging the internal memory? I always thought magnets + storage = bad news.
Ryoma1337, that dates back to hard disk drives, solid state memory is not effected by magnets.

To be honest, this just seems too good to be true. But if it is true, it definitely got my money. I just find it skeptical that a magnet can hold the phone on with no problems with all the vibrations and such a car has.

Ryoma1337, You would be surprised. On my gnex I installed the palm touchstone coil and 10 1/8x1/32 inch rare earth magnets inside the battery cover and it was perfect. Never had a single instance of the phone falling off touchstone base. I could hold upside down and gently shake and it wouldn't budge. I wish the touchstone was qi so I could use it on the g2.

They did say some tech was made where you can charge your phone with water
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
I doubt anyone would want to leave their phone in direct sunlight for too long, mostly because of how hot it would get. Otherwise, if you're using it while you're outside it'll be able to lower the rate that the battery drains, so that would be a good thing. Otherwise, having it dedicated just for solar charging would not take off IMO
Absolutely useless with current technology.
A solar cell the size of a phone left out in the sun all day wouldn't even charge the phone's battery halfway.
We have awhile to go before solar cells are efficient enough to do this.
As a hiker and someone who's planning some long distance backpacking, I've been looking into purchasing one similar to what's shown in the OP's thread. There's one available on Amazon that's 10,000mAh, can charge itself in sunlight or be plugged into a wall or USB port on a computer. With a carabiner to attach the solar charger to something (belt loop, backpack, etc.) and a long enough cable, you can easily keep your phone out of direct sunlight while leaving the charger sit in the sun. In occasions such as these, I can see how useful they'd be. It's on my "wish list" so I can't speak for how well it works but it has good reviews.

I approve, always nice to have something supplementing your charged battery. I don't see it doing any harm, if it was built in to devices as standard just to give you that extra boost or the chance of emergency power.
