[Q] My Xperia Z doesn't boot .... - Xperia Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Heys guys,
Never had such a problem: my Z doesn't boot any longer.
What happened: my BL is open, my phone's rooted, and yesterday I flashed the DoomKernel v12 (no more wifi-reboots!).
Everything worked fine, and before I felt asleep, I turned my phone off and charged it with my dock. Something strange happened: I saw the Kernel Bootanimation for short, then the symbol for charging.
Now this morning I want to turn it on: DoomKernel, then short "Xperia" (?, never had this before), then the boot animation, which never ends.
I try to flash system and kernel with the flashtool, with no success. I still can access my dual recovery and the fastboot mode, I've done a backup with TWRP, just in case.
Do you have an idea, what I should try? I don't want to flash everything to stock (if possible).
Thanks in advance!

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2275632

Doesn't really help me :/

I even try to restore everything with flashtool (wipe everything and flash everything), still got the same problems....
Maybe because of the DoomLord Kernel v12?
Is there a way for booting with adb or something like that?

OK guys, it's over now, SUS dit it.... But only after the third or forth try...
Can be deleted / closed, thank you!

[Q] GingerDX stuck while booting...

I just installed GingerDX on my Xperia X8 and all the other modules etc...Then I was told to reboot so I did (via CWM) then It started rebooting and showed GingerDX boot animation but immedietly it just froze on the boot animation. Now it just shows a still image of the GingerDX animation. Whats the problem? Pls help!
BTW I havent unlocked my bootloader (i dont have to), there were no problems while flashing and my phone is network locked.
Maybe you should just wait for a bit longer, I also tought it froze, but it booted eventualy. Especialy on the first boot, the thing takes a while.
How long did you wait, I've waited 10 mins and nothing happened?

3) selected option 2: Free Xperia CWM 4.0.1.5

[Q] Bricked Xperia X8 (E15i) HELP!!! May be hard brick

Okay please help. I have an unlocked bootloader (or had an unlocked bootloader) on my X8, it was rooted as well. I decided I'd like to get a custom Rom so I attempted to install GingerDX. I installed Clockwork Recover mod and tested it out to see if it was working. It was so I decided to back the phone up. The back up worked fine and I moved the backup to my computer. Then I restarted the phone to install the GingerDX rom. I cleared all the user data and I then went to install a zip file then chose the zip file. The installation completed so I pressed the back button and it said something about it being unsafe and that I will have no backup but I thought it was going to be fine as I had a backup of the kernel and the system on my computer.
I decided to ignore the warning as the installation said it was completed as well. But when I rebooted using Clockwork recovery mod the phone was stuck on the Sony Ericsson loading screen and was for around 10 minutes before I turned it off by removing the battery. I tried to enter the flash mode and reinstall the kernel on to the phone through flashtool but this failed and after that I can't seem to enter flash mode at all.
Please, is there any way for this to work? I'm guessing it's a hard brick but is there anything that I could try to fix it considering I have a system backup and the stock kernel backup as well? Anything will be greatly appreciated and rewarded.
it looks like you're on stock kernel. custom kernels do not show the se logo (haven't encountered one that does and i've tried quite a lot). are you sure you unlocked your bootloader? if you did, you haven't flashed a custom kernel yet.
don't worry it's only a soft brick. try using seus, pcc, or flashtool to recover it and go back stock rom. flash the rom, not the kernel.
did you download the stock kernel version of gdx? if not, that's probably why you encountered a bootloop.
edit: you also need to wipe dalvik cache and do a full wipe before flashing a rom
Just because i don't doesn't mean i can't.

Thanks a lot for the suggestion and I'm pretty sure I got the stock kernel version. Just in case I didn't can you send me a link if possible? Also I am on the stock kernel, I unlocked the bootloader but didn't bother flashing the kernel.
I've already tried PC Companion but I don't understand how to use it considering the phone actually cannot boot so I can't choose to connect the phone etc. Also I can't enter the clock work recovery mod anymore or the flash mode.

just download the stock rom for x8 and flash it using flashtool. you do need pcc installed for that anyway.
well, i believe you when you say you have gdx's stock kernel version. maybe it's just that you didn't wipe cache, dalvik cache, and full wipe before flashing it?
just a Q though. why not flash a custom kernel? it makes a huge difference.
btw here's the link for stock: http://goo.im/devs/TeamFun/GingerDX/GingerDX-v031b-shakira-stock.zip
edit: you need to flash the stock se rom first to get out of the bootloop. then reroot you phone, install cwm, reboot to recovery and wipe, flash the rom.

I've been such an idiot. After a couple of tries it seems that I can actually boot to flash mode so it was just as simple as using Sony Update Service and repairing the phone. I feel like a bit of a tard. Anyway, this thread is resolved. Thanks for all your help and I've  but just as a last note what kernel will go well with the GingerDX Rom?
And again thanks for all the quick help man. greatly appreciated.

I tried unlocking my bootloader. The phone turned off an since then no sign of life...
No charging, no led flashing, doesn't turn on, won't go in flash mode.
SEUS, PCC and Flashtool doesn't recognise it.
Is it hardbicked? Is anything that can be done?
Waranty expired too!

Does anybody happen to know if there's any chance that my hometown Sony service can handle that, or they will gonna send it at a central somewhere else?

send it to a nearby Sony service center because your manufacturing date isn't safe to perform the unlocking of the bootloader, and yes, it is indeed a hard brick
I have same problem, sony service center solved my problem with any cost, free for me.

the date on the battery is irrelevant. what's the date at the back of your phone?
Just because i don't doesn't mean i can't.
I have left it charging over night, Im getting no signs of life from this in anyway.
The back of my phone says 10W51?
I cant get into flash mode
Also: I have an old Vivaz here and the X8, The vivaz was missing a battery and It turns out it uses the same battery as the x8, Ive tried using this battery in the vivaz but it wont turn on or charge, Is the battery gone?

[Q] Xperia X8 kernel flash problems

Hello guys,
I got a problem you all might only be able to help me. I successfully rooted, unlocked bootloader, flashed E15_nAa-ics-03_2.6.29.6-nAa-ics-03.ftf and installed MINIcm9 3.0.2 shakira on my Xperia X8. The rom itself acted a bit slow and the wifi was dropping so i decided to reflash the kernel on E15_nAa-ics-03_2.6.29.6-nAa-ics-04.ftf and put MINIcm9 3.0.5 shakira on the phone. But after i flashed the newer kernel the phone just got blank black screen with no reaction whatsoever. I used SUS to bring the phone back from the dead and started over again used SE tweaker tool to root the phone then unlocked bootloader with S1 tool which reported lowercase r as a sign of unlocked bootloader and flashed the old kernel E15_nAa-ics-03_2.6.29.6-nAa-ics-03.ftf again. And no recovery menu just blank screen again i didnt miss anything im open for any ideas.
1.Should i first try to relock the booloader after i revive the phone?
2.Am i totaly F*** and have to deal with the fact that phone stays on Android 2.1?
btw.. I used Flashtoolx64 ver, 0.9.9.0 it worked perfectly first time. I have all drivers for the process.
Thanks for the help fellas im counting on you all

Try to redownload the kernel and reflash it again. Or you can try to flash other kernel to see what happens. If the other kernel works, maybe the problem is in your ftf file.

My Xperia SP has suffered brain damage- Anyones assistance needed !

Short and Sweet: Have a c5306, fido, on android 4.3. Rooted with towel root, flashed CWM 4.4.1-sp, made back backup of stock 4.3 with philz. Phone turns on, but has no IMEI, no service. As soon as the screen goes off, i cant get it back on. So the screen times out after 30 sec and it stays that way. Never heard of this problem. I can hit the reset button in the back, boot the phone up and same thing. Can anyone assist in anyway? If you can help me solve my issues, ill gladly Donate
EDIT- i have now wiped system so cannot return to recovery, or boot the phone. It is stuck at the white Sony logo
Try to flash the latest stock ROM via Flashtool, maybe that could help.

+1, this is what I do when nothing else works, as long as you can get into Flash mode (Vol Down and plug in USB), you should be fine flashing stock software back on.
Good luck mate!

[Q] Cannot get Xperia SP into recovery.... Stuck on Sony Logo!

Hi there,
I'm still very new to this so I'm gonna try to describe this the best way that I can.
Basically I have a Xperia SP C5303 and I was getting frustrated of it being slow and keyboard failing to pop up - these are just a few of the issues I had with this phone. I had previously downloaded the 4.3 update for the phone. So basically I thought "let me try to update it to 4.4". So I google the update and put in on the SD card on the phone. So I enter recovery, and follow the instructions (wipe all user data) and then I go to install the "cm-11-20150412-NIGHTLY-huashan.zip" It then came up with an error saying it could not be installed. So i'm panicking here and did the mistake of restarting the phone. Now the phone is stuck on the Sony logo and I cannot get it into recovery no matter pressing the up and down volume button.
Can anyone please help me? I do not have a phone now and as a man I am not afraid to say it made me shed a tear or two a bit.... But anyways, if you can please help. Thank you you wonderful people.

Hello my friend, I assume you´re on locked bootloader, right?
If it is so, you flashed the wrong Rom. Anyway, don´t panic - not a big problem.
When you have restarted your phone, you started it without any system. No wonder, that doesn´t work
Ok. let´s go:
First, you have to flash a new stock Rom. Go here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2311964
Second step - root it and install a recovery. Got to the thread of our Guru Doomlor http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2354704
read the steps carefully, so you can´t make any mistake!
Step three - on locked bootloader you can only flash a Rom for LBL!!!
If you want a CM11 Rom I recommend bagyusz´CM11 Rom from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2735975
If you will follow all the steps you will have back an excellent CM11 Rom with much, much fun.
Goodl luck, reinipic.:fingers-crossed:

Hi, what do you mean with "tried all the steps"???
Did you flash a stock .ftf Rom with Flashtool?
It is nearly impossible to brick the XP.
Please give me more details, what you´ve done.

I've downloaded the .ftf file onto my laptop, but getting my phone to open the file is an issue because when i connect the SP onto the laptop, it switches on the phone but has been stuck on Sony logo for the past couple of hours. The Recovery_SP.zip and DooMLoRD are both not picking up the phone as plugged in on USB drivers.
