[Q] GingerDX stuck while booting... - XPERIA X8 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I just installed GingerDX on my Xperia X8 and all the other modules etc...Then I was told to reboot so I did (via CWM) then It started rebooting and showed GingerDX boot animation but immedietly it just froze on the boot animation. Now it just shows a still image of the GingerDX animation. Whats the problem? Pls help!
BTW I havent unlocked my bootloader (i dont have to), there were no problems while flashing and my phone is network locked.

Maybe you should just wait for a bit longer, I also tought it froze, but it booted eventualy. Especialy on the first boot, the thing takes a while.

How long did you wait, I've waited 10 mins and nothing happened?

Oh sorry, that's way more that I meant. I guess there is something wrong. Hope you fix it!

I don't know what to do, I need help, thats why I am posting! Please someone help me!!!
I reflashed everything Incase it may help, but It happens again! Pls help me.

glad to helped you

facing the same problem, and now even after switching off my phone (unplug battery since power button doesnt work)
this is what i did
1) rooted via SuperOneClick 2.3.3
2) used x8toolbox.final: http://goo.gl/6nCJL
3) selected option 2: Free Xperia CWM 4.0.1.5
result: successful
4) cleared cache and dalvik
5) install zip from sdcard
6) chose GingerDX v028b (downloaded from google code from this thread http://goo.gl/SRCdi)
result: install from SDcard complete
now even after 20 minutes its still stuck in boot

Do a full wipe/factory reset at cwm before install the rom

Need help : my phone stuck loop on M logo

Hi everyone, I've a big problem on my milestone : It doesn't boot, it stuck loop on M logo...
I think I tried everything:
- RSD Lite Flash via the official versions and bootloaders
- Restoring backup nandroid
- Installation of custom rom
Despite all this, my phone will not boot, it displays only the M logo, then restarts again to view the M logo, and so on ... If anyone has an idea, I'm interested
(Is there a possibility of using adb to format the phone completely, never to leave anything on it, then install a clean version rsd through the system?)
For french users, there is a post here : http://forum.frandroid.com/topic/52109-milestone-ne-boot-plus/

U got try wipe data and wipe Dalvik Cache? I got once stuck at M logo and after done tat, it works.
Try the following step
1. Remove battery from the phone
2. Wait a minute
3. Insert the battery ( the phone should be off and no moto logo is displayed after inserting battery)
4. Enter bootloader mode
5.flash official rom using rsdlite
Finish~!

What I've done in open recovery : wipe davlik cache, wipe data, wipe cache partition.
There is a way to wipe everything ? To have a totally empty milestone ?
Ok the 3 wipes and now you should be able to install a rom from the Apply Update folder if you already have one there.
I've just tried to install Cynaogen 7 for Milestone (here) but still the same issue : loop on the M logo...
Is it brick ?
grr.. there is a recent thread about pulling the battery out or something... right here
edit: was it this thread? geez I must be tired
What if you did the 3 wipes again and just try booting without reflashing...
I dunno what else to do.. sileshn is really good at this part hehe

I'll try to flash with GOT and try to do a diagnostic, what are you thinking about ?
That wasn't the thread I was thinking of but it was a different problem.
They were stuck on the M permanantly, well, until it got fixed..
sileshn is another user here that is really good at this flashing sbf stuff.
But it sure wouldnt hurt to flash GOT.
Ok, I try it, and I'll tell you.
I hope sileshn will come to see this post and will be able to help me
I've flashed the GOT sbf, and search on got recovery, but always the same, still looping on the M logo...

Restore what exactly? The rom that was giving you all the trouble in the first place? You might want to redownload the rom and check the md5sum just to be sure its not a corrupt download. Dont forget to wipe first, like what was suggested above.
before following the above suggestions which are spot on, i would suggest you do a bit of reading to familiarize yourself with the basics.
hope you have made a nandroid backup of the original stock rom.
steps you should follow (or should have)
- nandroid backup of your current rom
- check if s-off'd (and if you want it)
- install recovery as required
- download desired rom and check mdsum
- clean wipe, install
And also make sure that your battary is minimum 50-60% charged. You can find your battery level but in touch recovery mode only.
maybe you forgot flashing boot.img ??
If nothing works, run an ruu.

did you tried a factory reset? i think you have this option in bootloader
I can not solve the problem by installing the original ROM
You might have a corrupt partition/partition table. Try formatting all your partitions in recovery.

[Q] stuck in clock work mod recovery

I can't seem to get the Update.zip to work and now my ds7 only shows the cwm rec boot loader. Pls hlp me. Thank you.
So i did some reading and what i did wrong was factory reset from the settings menu not cwm. No instructions were clear how to fix my mistake. Help would be awesome. Any help i could get can be rewarded money. cwm 3.0.2.0
OMG, i also did a factory reset and now it is stuck on cwm, can't even get into fastboot mode
GUYS, please help.. this is bad as I've been searching the forums for an answer and all i see is to try fastboot.. thanks in advance
I heard this works haven't tried it yet since I left mine at my buddies house to fix it. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1018809

Don't worry guys, I almost went crazy just now thinking mine was "bricked" as well when it really wasnt. Restore with the following method will fix it
DO NOT FORGET to press both volume + and volume - at the same time so that your computer will detect it as a NVFlash device and the nvflash method (with batch file) will pick it up as a driver and reflash your device to stock. I made that mistake as well

lol! I always end up in bootloop while in my galaxy s and galaxy s2, so im pretty calm now when I encounter bootloop. Thanks also!
Try using the search feature. Asked and answered loads of times (either via another lazy person's new thread like this one, or within ROM specific threads.) In fact if everyone searched and the info was posted in one place it would make everyone's life easier!
You have to do a wipe / factory reset after flash back to GB otherwise you'll get stuck in the boot loop. When it happened to me I didn't know how to get into stock recovery mode as I couldn't find the info via a search. Since then I've tried to reply to ALL these threads with the info. It turns out it is really easy: Vol up, home and power held together at boot up. Then select wipe / factory reset, re-boot and cross your fingers!
Good luck.

ROM that automatically does a full-wipe!

Hey guys so I did some stupid things and ended up where I am currently...its a long story so please bear with me...
Due to some water getting into my phone sometime ago my home button broke(hence cant go into recovery, without adb)...So I started using Button Savior and navigation bar in CWM ROM's...then I switched recently to Ultimate Rom...I was running Ultimate ROM (LSZ_JB_4.1.2_v5.2) and it was all well ...until I pulled out the battery while the phone was on and it got stuck in a boot loop...
This bootloop went to the samsung animation for 2 boots(I was not at home then since I could have gone into recovery with adb right then and there)...but when I got home the boot just got stuck at the splash sreen(black and white "Samsung Galaxy Note) and adb couldnt detect a device(adb reboot recovery couldnt be run)
Now as I couldnt go into recovery by any other method,so I went into download mode and flashed GB+Prerooted+CWM stock(Dr. Ketan's thread) and it still wont go into the boot animation section so that adb could be used to boot into recovery...
Basically I want something like this right now:
A ROM that would do an auto wipe after flashing using Odin.
like: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=26484341
As I'm sure a full wipe is all that is needed to solve this issue.
But I can't access recovery because my home button is broke
Could someone kindly point me to a ROM that would do this?
check in this thread

look for roms that has Wipe written besides it..
these roms are not rooted so... you will not have cwm
