Hey guys, not sure if anyone of you experience this but just want to share my experience on Google Now....
I just gotten my brand new Silver HTC Butterfly S last night and realized after setting up, Google Now or voice search is not function. Upon my research, I did a restore to factory settings. So now it work as how it should be...
Just wondering if anyone ever experience that? Is there something I didn't set up properly the first time?
I don't have any problems with Google Now on my 901S - working after root with Maximus HD rom. I think you had some option disabled for the service.

First of all would like to say that I would have searched what I'm about to ask now it's just for some reason the browser keeps refreshing. I found a sensation XL on the bus a couple of days ago and the phone has been blocked. I've asked a couple experienced Android users I know whether rooting the phone will solve all my problems (like the whole not being able to make or receive calls and texts, what where once the basic functions of a phone- everything else works as far as I've been bothered to look). What they've told me give me mixed impressions, on one hand I hear that I need to change the imei. Number and on the other I hear that won't do anything because of blacklisting...who's right and who's wrong essentially? I don't know how to root or even flash a Rom (yet) and want to know whether learning, so as to achieve my desired result- the end of my HTC desire - the art of Android is worth it in the long run.

Well when I put my T-Mobile sim in, as it is now I'm using the phone, the lock screen says "no signal limited service". The previous owner had a T-Mobile sim inside...so the phone is not locked to any network, not sure what else to tell you, please tell me there's still hope xD.
Made factory reset from bootloader

This is just plain wrong. You find a phone on the bus, this does not make it your property! Do the right thing and hand it in at your local police station! Some people hold their lives on these devices, and it truly saddens me when i hear stories like this.
Also, any changing of IMEI is strictly forbidden as it can be used by criminals.
Now please, check your moral compass!
Hello everyone,
Been using my HTC One on 4.2.2 (STOCK) with no issues until suddenly two days, I could not make calls or receive calls nor send or receive text messages.
I called T-mobile technical team and complained but simcard seems to be working fine, I took out my t-mobile simcard into my iPhone and it worked perfectly no issues.
I went ahead to buy different networks simcards Three UK & 02 tried it both on my htc but still the same no signal or network, so its definitely something wrong somewhere on my HTC one.
All simcards bought and including my T-mobile simcard worked well on the iphone and not the HTC.
Which i find very strange before this happened my HTC has been working fine, please the tech geeks in the forum help me out. Has anyone encountered this problem and how did you fix it?
What I have done so far:
I have restarted or rebooted my HTC one.
I have reset and wiped my HTC to factory settings
I have done a soft reset
still no luck, I need help guys.
Everything works fine I just dont have network signal to make calls/receive/send or receive text messages, I noticed on the upright coner where the signal strength is there is an 'X' symbol included a screenshot.
Please help

Okay they should be able to run technical support for you and exchange it if there is still warranty. Don't know how Tmobile UK works but that's how it works here in the states.

I bought it off a friend which it does not have warranty, I tried flashing custom rom thinking this might solved the problem. I successfully unlocked the bootloader installed TWRP but I cant view my folders :crying:
Its says internal memory 0mb I read somewhere online to mount my sdcard I tried mounting it but it says unable to mount partition, I tried wiping cache none of this worked am stuck with stock.
Right now can anyone tell me how to fix this problem am having with TWRP cant view my sdcard folder, I want to flash official firmware 4.2.2. or flash a custom rom on the HTC one.
Please assist
I finally fixed the unable to mount sdcard issue with TWRP I guess the twrp I installed was faulty I made use of Hasson2000 v3.1 Tool kit it fixed it :fingers-crossed:
Now am back to square one flashing custom rom to fix my issue of unable to make or receive calls or text message, can anyone help with a direct link on this forum on How to flash Custom rom on HTC one S-ON ?
So far I have unlocked bootloader, installed TWRP 2.6.0, I know there alot of them on this forum but a noobie guide will be great thanks.
Just ad update: I have flashed Viperrom 2.6.0 now my HTC One has network and signal but I cant still make or receive calls what is really going on with HTC ONE m7?
Please if anyone has experienced this and fixed it please how did you fix this issue?
sme problem
I have exactly the same problem ice flashed new firmwares and new radios it's got me stumped
Dialer glitch / can't make calls
I'm not sure if this is the same problem, but when attempting to call someone from the stock phone dialer, I am unable to call. The phone will decide to call maybe 10-15 seconds later even if I have locked my phone. Apparently there is a bug with Skype that causes the phone to act funny when attempting to call. I had the same issue, and after ensuring the Skype service isn't running, and I am logged out of Skype, my phone dialer is no longer glitching. Worth a try before flashing, resetting phone?
You could also try completely removing skype, and all the files associated with it from your phone.

I just purchased an HTC One rooted Soff iwth the Google ROM installed. I found that it is incompatible with TMobile's 1700MHZ radio so I get no 4G. I've decided to sell it and have a dumb noob question. I want to default the unit so I can sell it and am a bit uncomfortable flashing ROM's to it as I don't plan to keep it. My question is kinda too stupid to ask but here goes. I want to default the phone removing the personal information I seet up - accounts, apps, etc but not blow the GPE Rom. If I factory reset under the settings menu will I get the phone into a saleable condition. I hope this only requires a quick answer from one of you geniuses out there. Thanks in advance.
Yes
Would be very appreciated if anyone wants to weigh in with advice:
My friend has the XT1053 (I have the XT1058 AT&T), I pressed him to get the Moto X, his will be one year old next month and he's having 2 issues. His XT1053 is completely stock 4.4.4, locked bootloader, unrooted, using AT&T's service.
Have spoken to tier 2 tech support at Motorola, like me and probably anyone else, they have never heard of the first issue:
When he has wifi toggled on, but not connected to anything, it makes a strange interference when he's on a call (kind of like a reverberation in a tunnel sound), as soon as he toggles off wifi it stops, seems to only be when using his bluetooth headset (not the headset, have tried a couple of them). Cleared the cache and tried in safe mode in case it was 3rd party apps, as suggested by tech support, neither solved it. He's reluctant to do a factory reset, but I told him I'll help him back up his stuff.
The 2nd issue just started a couple of days ago:
In driving mode, if an announcement comes in "new text from..." it makes a tone at the end and is "stuck" repeating the tone very fast, like a record skipping, screen isn't frozen, but the audio file playing is (maybe that audio file got corrupted?) I cleared the data for the assist app on his phone, but it still does it. I get the feeling tech support won't know which audio file it is, or where to find that file.
I know the factory reset is likely the best thing to try first (and if it fails, downloading and reinstalling the firmware maybe?) wish it was evident if it was a hardware or software issue re: the first issue -the issue with assist sounds more software I think, though both seem peculiar, especially the first issue, with the wifi, the issue with the assist, maybe the audio file is corrupted? Not sure which file it is, I guess it's the one that follows: "New text from... to hear it, say listen", so I guess it's the tone it makes when listening. If tech support doesn't have a good suggestion, I'll press him to do a factory reset
Thanks in advance for any input, his phone is still under warranty until sometime in February
The second issue just started on my girlfriend's moto x yesterday. Apparently after Google got updated along with a few other things. Her phone is completely stock as well. I'm thinking they messed up the update on one of the apps but I'm searching here now trying to fix it for her. She relies on that feature a lot when driving around.

Thanks
Surprised no one else has mentioned having the issue. I wonder if related to the update of Google search -though that was like a week ago? -unless it took time for it to start to happen

You're right. I recently fixed that same issue after that app was updated.
Rolling that back to a previous version, fixed the issues with moto assist for me. Look under apps in settings and uninstall updates to revert to the factory version. The version previous to this update is 3.6.16.1614640. (com.google.android.googlequicksearchbox-1)
FYI, if you check the app page for the google search app and filter the results to current version and moto x, you'll see complaints about it breaking moto assist.
As for your first issue, I would recommend a factory reset as you mentioned, but maybe someone else had this problem and can better assist you.
If a factory reset doesn't solve the problem, you could use tasker or similar and force wifi off when bluetooth is connected (and back on when disconnected). Getting a free new phone through warranty is always a nice option though.

Thanks true, it is still under warranty, though they said they only have refurbished models if he exchanges, as it's no longer made -I guess they don't have inventory of 1st gen Moto X anymore?

Yeah, I know motomaker for the 1st gen ended awhile ago. No idea if they have anymore new, non-custom stock on hand. A few months ago, when I exchanged mine (cross-shipped), the rep told me that the paperwork would say refurbished, but that it would be new. And it was new although this was for the developer edition. I guess your issue isn't really worth the hassle for a refurb.
I wonder if anyone can help me. A friend has a HTC One M7 phone that he used to be able to use an app called Auto Answer, it automatically answers a call with his Bluetooth headset. For some reason the auto answer app has now stopped working, it doesn’t auto answer at all (just keeps ringing). I’m not sure if this is due to a firmware/software update or something else. He is on Vodafone (UK – its locked to it too I think) and it has Vodafone branded firmware, I’m not sure what version he is on I would imagine 4.4.2 or 4.4.4, it was up to date with the latest firmware when I last used it, fairly sure it wasn't 5.0 though (pretty sure his phone is a single sim version, I heard it was only available for dual sim versions?).
I have tried various apps to auto answer but they either don’t work or actually crash when they are supposed to answer. I only see him once a week and he hasn’t brought his phone with him this week so can’t give much detail at the moment. He uses auto answer because he can’t move his arms to answer his phone, so it gives him a small piece of independence to be able to answer the phone.
I tried doing a factory reset and it didn’t fix the problem. I didn't want to mess around with it trying it install roms incase I mess something up, I've not used a HTC phone before but have installed a few roms on Samsung phones.
Just wondering if anyone has heard of this problem before, did they lock something in Kitkat that makes it so you can't auto answer (phone isn't rooted just stock) it wouldn't matter what rom he had on there only that the bluetooth auto answer thing works.
The app he had on his phone that worked a few months ago looked like an older version (infact I don't know where it came from since it didn't seem to be in his google play apps list) of this one : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mathalogic.autoanswer&hl=en I uninstalled that and installed this updated one, but no luck.
