[Q] Moving apps,games into the sd card - Xperia Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have 4.2.2 JB 244 rooted Xperia Z. And I can't move games into the sd card. I tried FolderMount and It failed. Everytime It tries to mount folders phone reboots itself. Is there any other application to do this?

Did you apply the fix for rebooting when remounting /system that is linked in DooMLoRD's root tool thread?

Thanks I didn't know that its working now.

I mounted Pacific Rim and The Dark Knight Rises and I pinned them, but they are not working.

After pinning them you need to reboot your phone so it mounts them.

Did you tty asking this on the rom's thread? It may be a known bug of this rom. I'm now on paranoid and also tried cm9 and don't have this problem.
Hope this helps...

did you wipe dalvik cache?
do post this in the rom's thread.
I did... sorry for posting it over here because as I have flashed other ROM, i have always faced the partial root issue, i do not think it is rom specific as I have gone onto kingdroid, criskelo and alba and all faced the same issue before...
EDIT: I realised something very perculiar, I used ES explorer and Root Browser lite...they didnt seem to ask for superSU permission like they did in GB rom.... that could be the reason?? bt I have no idea why they dont prompt as such

Check in the Superuser app for settings regarding prompt messages. Maybe sone option is selected there!

I am facing the exact same problem, no matter what I try I can't get rw on /system
$ adb remount
remount failed: Read-only file system
[email protected]:/ # mount -o rw,remount /system
[email protected]:/ # mount
rootfs on / type rootfs (rw,relatime)
...
/dev/block/mmcblk0p9 on /system type ext4 (ro,relatime,barrier=0,data=ordered)
Any help will be appreciated. Currently on TMT 1.3 with CF-Root kernel, Mobile ODIN Pro works fine and SuperSU shows all apps getting root, but /system is stuck in ro
Try using rom toolbox and it has root browser embedded

[Recovery] TWRP [locked BL]

Ok requirements:-
Root
Existing recovery/or copy of hacked chargemon
Download https://www.box.com/shared/qhvn56h808nn1rf9lr6h
This is just the right files tarred up, if you have existing recovery just drop this is /system/bin
Or if you usually install from pc, just replace recovery.tar
If you usually flash a zip, just replace the recovery.tar
If you backup up your existing recovery.tar you can switch whenever.
Tested and confirmed:-
Backup
Restore
Flash zips
Wipes
If you want to wipe system, go to settings and switch to rm -fr option.

It's a work in progress, spotted a couple of other minor issues too, working on fixes.
The next version will come as a zip too

Did you change Rom's?
That chargmon looks fine.
Something else on /system must have changed to cause loop.
When it froze did it select a zip first or before?
Need to try and establish what happened

I'm having a similar problem. I was able to choose a zip and it did install but it went way too fast. Then after reboot I got stuck a kernel boot logo. I just reflashed system from an ftf with flashtool and it worked again, keeping all my data. Looking at recovery.log, I see it did format /system but then had a problem remounting it so it was unable to copy the files and /system was thus left empty. It seems my updater-script is not compatible with TWRP.
Close but no cigar
Not your updater script, chargmon
Boot to TWRP, enter terminal
unmount -l /system
Then try again
See if it works
Edit:-
Update even remount,rw from chargmon is still passing to for system?
Looking at init issue now
That's what is causing this, trying to do from

I tried with umount -l but still same problem. Maybe totally unrelated but it seems default.prop comes from a Z running cm10.1?
Sent from my LT30p using xda app-developers app
Unrelated, latest bundle has this corrected, behaves the same.
The original tar was from a z but had device specific files substituted.
Despite altering chargmon, default.prop init and fstab it still will not mount /system rw.
Going to look at TWRP source next.
For now I recommend not using this.

[ROM] [STOCK] [SO-02E] Rooted 10.1.D.0.343 (w/XZDualRecovery)

UPDATE: If you're already on an unrooted 10.1.D.0.343 - a new exploit has been found so check out this thread to root it.
After much digging through the threads and the net looking for a working Rooted 10.1.D.0.343 ROM for the SO-02E with no luck I decided to make my own and share it to everyone who own the SO-02E variant from Docomo.
This ROM is fully stock with the exception of having Superuser and XZDualRecovery installed. No default files have been tweaked in anyway.
I made this ROM using the guide from [NUT]
All the scripts were made by [NUT] - I just replaced some files to make XZDualRecovery work for the SO-02E.
I am not a developer or anything - I'm just some guy who loves his SO-02E
I tested this on my SO-02E, upgraded from 10.1.D.0.333 to 10.1.D.0.343 and everything works.
No reboot issue when mounting the system as R/W and no issues booting into recovery.
No data is lost and all apps are retained when upgrading so you should be good - but backup your data just in case.
Prerequisite:
Rooted 10.1.D.0.333
Recovery Installed (e.g. XZDualRecovery)
Installation:
1. Copy SO-02E_10.1.D.0.343_system.zip to your SDCard
2. Flash SO-02E_10.1.D.0.343_stripped.ftf with Flashtool (make sure nothing is ticked)
3. Boot straight into recovery
4. Flash SO-02E_10.1.D.0.343_system.zip
5. Clear cache (optional but it doesn't hurt to)
6. Reboot
7. Profit!!!
Special thanks to [NUT] for getting XZDualRecovery working on the SO-02E
Stock Odexed Files:
(I split SO-02E_10.1.D.0.343_system.zip into two files for download so you need to join them with 7zip and copy the .zip file to the SDCard )

Rooted stock 10.1.D.0.343
Installation:
1. Copy 343.deodex_zipaligned.zip to your SDCard
2. Boot into recovery
3. Flash 343.deodex_zipaligned.zip

Nice to see my guide put to good use, this is exactly why I made it in the first place! :highfive:
Have fun with this release people :good:
Must I join 2 files: "SO-02E_10.1.D.0.343_system.zip.7z.001 and SO-02E_10.1.D.0.343_system.zip.7z.002" before I copy it to SD card?

It's my fault for not be more clear - yes you need to join them with 7zip (or whatever program that recognizes 7z formats). From there you'll end up with SO-02E_10.1.D.0.343_system.zip, copy the .zip to the SD and use TWRP or CWM to flash.
I'll update my OP to make it more clear.

It does have root. What version were you coming from before? If you're already on an unrooted 10.1.D.0.343 then you'll need to downgrade to 10.1.D.0.333 via Flashtool, root it, install XZDualRecovery, then upgrade to 10.1.D.0.343 as written in the OP.

[Q] Help: Z1 Broken root?

Recently rooted my Z1 using the method outlined here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2784900
It seems as if the process hasn't fully worked - I almost have a "half-rooted device." Root checker apps state the device is rooted, however:
- Busybox does not install
- Cannot find anything to do with/update binaries
- File Manager cannot gain access to write /system
- AdAway will not complete patching the host file (error)
Using SuperSU by the way. Is the only option for me to reflash stock firmware with flashtool, and do the whole thing again?
Cheers in advance.
