Hi,
I've recently got a HTC One using the Three network which is great, however the only thing is that when it is using Hspa+ it still only says H, it would be really useful to have a H+ icon. Does anyone know of a solution? if they do that would be great.
Many thanks,
Sam
If I'm right, we don't have that icon. H+ is included in H on the international version.
I believe that t-mobile has it though.
Ah, it's a shame HTC didn't include that. Is there any mod that could correct this without root or would I have to root?

Can T-Mobile one users use the ROMs for the unlocked one? If so do we loose the lte radio until a fix is found?

you wont lose LTE but you will lose the 4g symbol if you use the roms...at least the 2 ive tried for the htc one.. the 4g becomes a 3g and H but if youre in a lte area like me youll get the lte symbol also..

Do you know of a fix for this? I've been looking in the dev and theme sections and haven't seen anything. I liked everything looked in the stock tmo rom on the status bar.

I haven't seen a mod for that just yet.. I asked about it but I guess no one has worked on it yet..I like the stock tmo too but my phone is more updated than stock tmo so it's fine..this phone is still fresh.. I guess we'll have to wait and see
I just bought an HTC One Developer Edition (DE). When I put my AT&T SIM card in I am able to use LTE, H, 3G, and Edge, but it does not say ATT LTE or ATT 4 G. I have used unlocked phones with my SIM card and I always get the AT&T splash page and ATT signal indicator, but with the DE I do not see the AT&T splash page. Is that ok?
My concern is that I do not see ATT 4G for my signal and I notice that my bars are one or two lower than my Z10. Unfortunately I can not check my signal strength with the Z. I know that the number of bars is not always the most accurate way to measure signal strength. Does H on the DE equal AT&T 4 G?
Is there any thing I should down load to make sure that the radios for the DE are optimized for ATT's network or am I all set? Is there anything else I should load on the phone to make it run better for AT&T?

H= HSPA
LTE=4G
The bars are actually more accurate than on an AT&T based firmware, AT&T jacks the bars up to misreport the signal. Look in settings to get the signal meter in dB.
Check your APN and make sure you're using the right one it's either PTA or PHONE.
The apn says phone. When I tried pta the phone didn't work. Ii think you are correct because my phone didn't go to edge today in my office.

he is right. I had both and side by side DBm was fine but signal on the dev is accurate and lower. I can tell you that there is a report that the 2.17 update "fixes" this. As for the AT&T splash screen, its an unbranded so no splash, no bloat ware etc. You could always put the signal icons back and flash the splash screen after going S off. You actually can then change CID two to CWS_01 I think and then reboot and the fancy LTE icons will show. Don't just do that of course grab the right post and follow carefully. Changing CID can perma brick.
This is my first android I will definitely not be trying much yet

The phone SHOULDNT be showing 4G or 4G lte icons. The icons at the top don't reflect what SIM card is in your phone... Like on your Z10 if you put a tmobile SIM in it's gonna still show the ATT icons it's just software.

Once you get used to it and start tinkering, If you change the CID (Carrier ID) to CWS__001 (ATT) you will get the correct ATT icons. Some of us like the ATT icons, i know i do.You must be s-off to do that. If you decide to do it, just change CID in fastboot. Its safe and easy. No need to worry about the 2nd CID change that some of the threads talk about. It's been proven to not be needed. If you are going to stay stockish and get OTA updates, you'll just need to change CID back to the DEV cid to get the updates. Once S-Off, it's as easy as a command. fastboot oem writecid CWS__001.
Just got my htc one ftom a a friend and for some reason the 3G icon is present but web pages gives me error as if I have my data turned off. and sometimes it does work but its so slow even opening up google.com. Has anyone else experience this issue ?

Sounds like the Sprint network in a lot of places. Here around ETSU and downtown, it is unusable except for when the college kids are out of town or sleeping.
i am having issues this morning also must be a sprint outage
Edit:
Seems to be back up in my area now
I also have Htc Evo 4g Lte and its not like this. I just flashed both phones to Verizon and the Htc one problem will not go away and what's interesting, Is that with Htc Evo 4g Lte, I can talk and use 3G at the same time but the HTC one 3G icon quick disappears as soon as I start to make a call .

I think that may be due to the hardware in the phone. I'm not entirely sure, but the 4G LTE is able to do both because the hardware allows it to (2 radios?). I know for a fact though that it can't be done on the ONE unless it's LTE.
Here's an article to support this: http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/0...supports-simultaneous-voice-and-data-over-3g/
As for the data issue, have you tried this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1710728s-voice-and-data-over-3g/

Thank you so much. For awhile I was going crazy but didnt even bother looking into it sucks that Evo Lte have SVDO and the ONe doesn't. I thought it did that on the Evo cuz the phone was flashed but now I know. And to fix the data problem I Used the guide in the second link and worked fine a sprint phone but on the flashed phone some ppl claimed bein s-off solved data speed problems so I got s-ff and flashed a different Rom instead of being on stock and rooted. That solved it
The problem with my One is that when I'm on WiFi, I get like 15 Mbps on Speedtest.net but the browser takes forever to open up pages and load photos on Facebook and stuff. I'm running full stock and it does that. Weird...

Make sure you have upgraded to latest firmware. My brothers red one came without update and he had the same issue.

I flashed OMJ's Sprint One v1.7 because my stock Rom was doing this too. The Rom is basically stock but with a little more

Yeah I'm going to root my One soon so I'll flash OMJ when I do. Thanks

Would love to know if it's possible?
Root + xposed + wanam
Did that. Still shows as 4g. Thanks for the effort though..
That's odd. It's Working great for me (920I)
I suppose you could install the 920t ThrashRom...it has icon by default and I ran that Rom without any problems for a while.
Good luck.
Thanks that is weird! 920i here too
If a non-US phone shows 4G, it is LTE. Only in the US is "4G" used to describe anything else.

I'm on AT&T and received my L29 yesterday.
according to all sites like willmyphonework.net, etc. the bands are compatible etc.
i know that 4G != LTE but is this a huawei thing?
i also restored to stock C636B170 - does this have anything to do with it?
Yes it is probably a Huawei thing. Each brand names it different but if you see 4G it mean your on LTE.
You can also try different themes which does change that symbol to LTE.
For example venom007's Material VUi theme (http://forum.xda-developers.com/p9-plus/themes/theme-material-vui-updated-16-08-16-t3440357).
I was also thinking about getting this phone and using on AT&T in the states. My biggest concern is that it can get LTE and not some version of HSPA
Did you find out if you are on LTE? Are you getting good speed? The last think I would want to do is import this phone and find out my dataspeeds are horrible which would make the phone useless for me.
Yea its a Huawei thing. Their manual shows 4G = LTE
Can't post link because I'm a new user but you can find it on the manual.
