Hey guys, I am using MIUI v5 from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2300329 and everything worked really great until yesterday, when Google Play stopped working. Whether I connect over network or wifi, it just gives me an error "No connection" as soon as I click it (google play). What should I do? I had "Freedom" but removed it, and since yesterday google play won't work.
Can anyone help me? I tried to find similar problem from someone else, but wasn't lucky enough to fix it for me. Thanks in advance.
Just flash a gapp for android 4.1.2 in recovery

Just tried it, still no connection. To clarify: as soon as I click "retry" button, it kind of refresh very fast with the same message, it won't even try to spin the circle so it would appear as it is doing something, loadin or such. I can't upload a screenshot as I don't have 10 posts yet
Any other solution I could try to fix this? I can't update apps, can't install new ones over play, it's so annoying.

Still did not work. Is there any other methods?
Messed about the the SDcard partitioning and reformatted it then flashed a new copy of the gapp .zip and success! Although i lost my full backup & contacts that was saved on SDcard but that was my own fault for not paying attention Lol.
Fresh backup will be done tonight so i dont have to go threw this process again, spent hours today working it out!
Try different gapps

I got a brand free Incredible S, received the update message a week ago and accidently declined it. Now when I check for updates I get "already up to date". My current android version is still shown as 2.2
Maybe try do a factory reset and then check for the update again.

Could you give me a little description how to do that?
I'm currently in school and can't check that for myself.
Okay, clearing the System App cache didnt work. Any other solutions? I don't want to do a factory reset, cba to install everything again..

If nothing works out, get 'MyBackup' from market ... it allows you to back up all data + APK s on ur phone, then do a factory reset and try to bring up the update ...
after which u can restore ur data / APK s ... ( u need to download 'MyBackup' again )
This is just a last resort workaround
Or I just cleared the cache wrong. I'm a completely Android Noob so someone could explain me how to do so?
No one?

I am pretty sure it is because of all the bugs the update had!
For example WiFi automatically disconnects when signal is less then -88dBm.
Font size is to big.
And more.

For everyone with the same Problem, the HTC support says that the notification comes back within 14 days.

Have this problem for 3 days already. Tried to flash to another ROM and it doesn't help. Googled this problem, looks like is a ton of complaints from people experiencing this problem but I can't find any actual solution. Can you help please? I'm tired of this already. Did a factory reset too and it didn't help.
Help please.
Yeah, had this issue some times with the new market.
Yesterday, when it happened again, I just cleared market app data and re-tried.
It worked.
Don't know if it'll last though..
Yeah mate, looks like it helps in some cases. But i tried it many times and it didn't help. I found a solution that deals something with "gmail" and "GoogleMail", but i don't know how to make a @googlemail e-mail.

So you've also tried deleting "Download manager" app data and "Google Services Framework" app data?
Are you using the new market too?
Hmm, [email protected] bugs
edit:
Maybe you should try this one too!

I have tried old and new markets, including latest 3.1.5. It doesn't help. Also i tried to clear Download manager app data. But I haven't tried deleting google services framework app data. I can't try it now because i don't have access to the wi-fi.
I think if your advice will not help i'll flash stock GB ROM.

did anyone get this fixed?
I'm also having the same problem, I been searching forums for two days trying to sort this but to no avail. I've cleared caches, installed updates, used a diff version of market app but my apps still are stuck on the "starting download..." screen..
I'm on stock Rom on sgs2, Tesco mobile UK.
any help would be appreciated, thanks
Android Market needs the Google Talk service to download and update applications. Without Google Talk, more downloads from the market ... I think
try this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=773272
do you use droidwall or something?
@ batahulu, don't think that's my problem, I don't think I've deleted any files by mistake and my Google talk workable fine. thanks tho.
@Dr.wtf., no not using it. I am using lookout and avg but I turned these off and tried too thinking it might be some firewall or sumat but still nothing... I don't know what more to try as I've done nearly everything I can find short of a factory reset. thanks mate
i had this problem long ago whaen i was in amertis ROM....... i tried many things like clearing cache, reinstalling the rom, clear data, even changing google account......but unfortunately it didnt helped..... then googled it and found that its a "CUSTOM ROM" problem.....
then after changing the rom it was fixed......
so my suggestion is that keep trying different ROM....
Goodluck
I've the market stuck on starting download only when I buy a paid app. Strange the free ones download just fine.
Samsung Galaxy s2 android 2.3.6
Yeah exactly the same here, two paid apps are stuck while at the same time I can download free ones.... I tried to download on pc but still not working
Taz..
I had the same problem,...
another rom was my only way to get it working...
I signed into Google wallet on the pc and put in my credit card details again, Google then sent me email asking me to confirm my date of birth and would you believe about 2 hrs later my market started working. Before this I only put my details in from my phone and think that may have been the problem, I think it may be worth a try...
Taz..
Push from Google Play
I've got a Motorola XT720 experiencing this problem as well, and I've tried all the wiping-related methods to no avail. However, I found another workaround that doesn't seem to have been discussed so far.
If I go to the Google Play Accounts web page (sorry, no link - new user), I can use the "Install" button to remotely command my phone to download the app.
It works for a couple tries, then I have to reboot, but at least it gets me somewhere. Hopefully this method can help others too.
plz any one can help me
When I entered the market and select any program to download it Show me this
phrase downloading... and lasts on this situation and i have nothing in the end .
any solution for this problem ?
Check your net connection. If its fine then in the market open menu and go to help, this is a known problem by google and I think their was a fix. Sorry I dont remember the fix but its their find it.

Have you tried going to the market app and uninstall updates and clean data? I've had this problem and it was solved after this.
Go into recovery and wipe cache partition.

im guessing its the new market
Solution 1-Go to manage apps-Market-Uninstall updates and clear data
Solution 2-Needs Root
Flash old market as Zip in CWM
After flashing I always delete /system/app/marketupdater.apk
Finally hit my thanks, before i hit u! loll
Hi,
I flashed the Android Revolution 40.3 Custom ROM to my HTC One (UK Blue Phone) and all went well. However it will not allow me to connect to any google email account. Everytime i try either on the phone setup or through trying to access the play store it just says it can't connect to google services please try later.
Am i doing something wrong? Or do i need to alter a setting somewhere for it to work.
My phone is S-Off, boot loader unlocked, rooted and has the required TWRP 2.6.3 etc installed. I followed the instructions to the letter and even flashed the ROM twice.
Would i be better off using the Jellybean 31.6 version?
Thanks in advance

A third flash after wiping everything and factory resetting in TWRP first solved it.:good:

I know this sounds weird, but try clearing your hosts file. /system/etc/hosts. Open it like a text file (any root explorer would work). Either delete it or just delete all the text inside it and reboot.
