I recently got a second hand HTC One and flashed the GE ROM. Now using the same exact sim and network provider as my N4, the noise gate on the One is set too high for phone calls!
This basically means that when I'm talking to someone on the phone, if they are not talking loud enough, they are cut out all together. So when someone is really soft I hear nothing at all. When someone is on the edge I hear them ducking in and out. And when someone is taking loudly I hear it perfectly clear.
Call volume does not effect this issue, and it doesn't effect media in any way. So it's happening on the phone call before it gets to the OS. But after it gets to the phone.
Any ideas? It doesn't seem to be a know issue that I can see. Is it a hardware fault?

I have always had this trouble, and did not know why. Thought my service was shawty. Would love to find out if a fix is possible, as it can be a pain.

Good to know I'm not the only one. It must be something set by the hardware (or the firmware).
Are you can running HTC Sense or a custom ROM?

I have the same problem on ARHD

So It's got nothing to do with my ROM either. Maybe that's just the default that HTC wants you to use.
If someone can find any information on how to change this functionality, I think we'd all appreciate a link

I have recently converted over from the Inspire to the Vivid. I REALLY love this phone but for one flaw. I'm not sure if its on my end or if its a common problem.
The best way I can describe it is when I'm listening to Pandora or Google Music, it will "chirp" as it hits parts of a song. I have beats turned off and the volume is low and I have tried different headsets to no avail. I am currently on the OTA ICS version of Android.
I don't know if there is something in the market that would help or if this is something I should take to the AT&T store about. Any help would be appreciated.

I have not experienced this... perhaps you could record the sound with something else and upload it?
I guess I should specify that's in the headphones.
I'll try to record it but I'm not sure how I'll go about doing that.

I honestly feel like I do. I don't know why. I thought I must have just gone used to it...but since you noticed I think I'm not crazy

I was looking at the back of my device the other day and noticed that the T was missing from my HTC logo.
Any one else having this isssue.
I think I might send it back to HTC as I am really not happy with the build quality of the device

I'd love to be the sales assistant who you brought it back to.
I'd laugh so hard at you that I'd mess my pants. Then I'd make sure the door slammed on your backside on the way out.
What are you talking about. The overall build quality of the HTC one was appalling.
The silver bezels along the bottom have started to come of. The white strip is coming apart from the body.
So overall I would say that it needs to be replaced. Lets put it like this if some one came in to the store with factory problems like that when I'm doing repairs I would replaceit straight away.

Now your next mission is to remove
C N
so that it reads
H O E
And no offence but your reply is just ridiculous. I asked if anyone else was having an issue with it. Not what you would do if your are the sales person.

I am just posting that the on board speakers died on my phone. They aren't blown as headphones don't work either. I can only hear anything on a regular phone call as speakerphone doesn't work either. I have restored my one to stock as I am doing a rma on it. Anyone else ever experience this?

Maybe the built in amp died!?
Sent from my One using xda app-developers app
Possibly since it's only amped audio that does not work

Do you have bluetooth speakers? Try that and if it works it's probably the amp imo. If it doesn't it might be your audio driver. Either way your probably going to have to get a replacement or a repair.
Have you called HTC and troubleshooted with them yet?

Yea I contacted AT&T my provider and they are shipping me another one. I had cm10.2 on it when it stopped worked but even returning it to stock had no effect. I just posted here to see if anyone else had experienced this issue.

Not closely similar to this, but I'm about to claim for the SECOND time that the top speaker is junk. The first phone it blew leaving it distorted and fuzzy. This one, all of a sudden overnight it sounds like a crazy vibration coming from the speaker. Kinda hard to explain... But it sounds absolutely terrible. So I'm going to fastboot the RUU and see if that makes a difference. If not its going back for another
