Can't install developers edition RUU - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Can anyone please upload their htc one developers edition hboot screen so I can see what firmware and radio you have as stock? I had ARHD installed on my dev edition HtC One and now I want to go back to developer edition but after I install the dev edition I won't be able to install updates, it says the system has been modified. I wonder if my radio version is different or the firmware is different.

[Q] Google edition rom, into an HTC non google edition

I have an original HTC one – Google edition, and I guess I was feeling a little bored today and I thought it be nice to try some HTC one non-Google edition roms
somehow I've gotten confused and so I wanted to ask, as I have an original Google addition HTC one is it possible for me to install a custom ROM on it? something like Viper Rom for example?
obviously, I can't have S off, or at least not that I know of so I was wondering would still be possible for me to flash TWRP recovery, and flash a custom ROM?
if by chance I wanted to go back to the Google edition ROM which I guess sometime I will, I was wondering if I could just use
[RUU] Google Edition Conversion. 4.4.2 RUU Zip pre-rooted/non-rooted + Firmware, to bring my phone back to a stock of Google edition since I won't be changing the model number to a non-HTC one Google edition phone..
my two concerns are I go ahead and install a custom recovery and flashy custom ROM and when going back how would I get back to the stock Google edition?
Non-google ROMS won't run before you'll make SuperCID (11111111) or another, eg. HTC-032 (Poland)

[Q] Update from really old Viperone version 1.1

I have read and read and cannot find a straight answer so I apologize for the new thread. I loaded the latest version of Viperone 1.1 back when I first got my phone. I did not root the phone through the Sprint official method if that makes a difference. Its been a REALLY long time since I loaded the ROM so I have a few questions.
1) I just noticed the ViperOne 5.8 has been released. Is this version and the 1.1 version related? I mean, did the 1.1 version officially get updated over time to the 5.8 version? The reason I ask is that I kept on going into Goo manager on my phone and it kept telling me there were no updates for my ROM. But then I log on here and see 5.8. Hate that I missed out on all the upgrade goodness.
2) What do I need to do to get to 5.8? I have updated my TWRP recovery to 2.6.3 as I read that was a requirement. I've also read to upgrade the firmware. What is that? I thought that was updated when I loaded the ROM, but I may be wrong. I just want to make sure I have the phone properly prepped before loading the 5.8 ROM.
3) Speaking of the 5.8 ROM, I have a Sprint phone (CDMA). I cannot find the Sprint version of the 5.8 CDMA ROM. The Sprint HTC One ViperOne thread directs me to the standard HTC One ViperOne thread for ROM download. Is the ROM the same for CDMA and GSM nowadays. I seem to remember them being different back when I did this originally.
4) What will happen to my pictures and text messages and such? Ihave backed them up through HTC Sync just in case, but it would be nice to not have to reload everything.
I had this figured out at one time, but its been so long, I'm now lost. Thanks in advance for your replies.
You need to search to find how to upgrade your firmware if that is suggested for the update. After that download the Rom you want and follow the instructions from that thread to flash it. your pictures will stay as long as you do not wipe that part in recovery. Your game data and such will be wiped for a clean install but you can back that up with third party apps such as titanium backup our others.

1) Same team different developer
2) Sounds like you firmware may be pretty old
The firmware thread is HERE Follow the instructions in the thread.
You will ned the latest radio/baseband it can be found HERE Flash in recovery.
Firmware is not included in any rom.
3) ViperOne has multi carrier support meaning it works on both GSM and CDMA (it will know which version to flash for you) you are correct GSM and CDMA roms are different...some devs support Sprint so read the OP to make sure there is Sprint support.
4) If you are s-on you'll have to re-lock your bootloader to be able to either update the firmware...meaning you will have to unlock again which will wipe your device.

So, I've done all that, but I am not understanding what "firmware" is. Is that the Android version, like 4.1.2 or 4.4.2? If so, I thought the ROM included the firmware since they all reference it being a KitKat based ROM or Jelly Bean ROM.
I've also looked for my ROM, but the only ROM I can find is not in the Sprint thread. Its in the non-Sprint thread. So is there not a Sprint(CDMA) and GSM ROM versions anymore? They used to be separate ROMs when I did this a while back. Are they the same ROM nowadays?

BD619 answered you pretty well here. But firmware is not the Rom, that is software. As stated above the m7 has been commonized and the flashable roms have a script built in to figure out if it is gsm or cdma but not every rom is like this. Sprint is really out there on their own, in a way, and not as compatible with other m7 variants. Just read plenty and make sure you KNOW what you're flashing before you flash it.

I am currently S-Off, so hopefully I don't have to worry about #4.
For #3, there is a dedicated Sprint ViperOne thread, so I believe they support Sprint, but that thread directs me to the non_sprint ViperOne thread for ROM download. I figured the ROM was the same now, but wanted someone to explicitly confirm that. Thank you for clearing that up.

If you are s-off no need to re-lock
The 5.8 rom in the main viper thread is the one you want it is able to tell you are on a Sprint device and will flash the correct files.
OK, I've tried to update to the firmware that was linked, but if failed with ...
ERROR [155]: UNKNOWN ERROR
The ROM Update Utility cannot update your Android phone.
Please get the correct ROM Update Utility and try again.
I am at hboot 1.44 at the moment. The firmware link stated that I need to update to 1.56. How do I update to 1.56 and keep s-off?

[Q] at&t htc one update from outside the US

Hi
I bought an at&t htc one (m7) mobile from the us
i managed to unlock it with a code. My issue is that the current software is android 4.1.2, Sense 5 and the mobile cannot find the updates (guess because I am outside of the US)
What should i do to get the update
can I download the latest software from the internet and do a flash recovery? or should I flash it with earlier updates first?
Is there an easier way to update?
Can you please explain how to do flash recovery?
Many thanks

You will only get OTA if you are on ATT. To get the update if you are not on att you will have to flash the ruu or root and flash one of the zips.
since you are outside US i would recommend you to flash an international stock rom on to your phone. If you manage to install a stock rom with its stock recovery you can get automatic OTA updates and be running the latest sense 6. but it depends on how much you know and how much you are willing to read and learn.. what i would do
1. s-off
2. supercid
3. modelid: PN0710000
and then install the [SYSTEM DUMP][07.06.2014] HTC One *STOCK* ROM | 5.11.401.10 | KitKat 4.4.2 | HTC Sense 6.0

Thank you all for the replies
I sent it with a friend back to the us because I could not find simple step by step instructions
My friend made the update using the AT&T software update option
However, he did not get the sense 6 or the newest Android version
Does he need to do it several times?
Many thanks

viperone rom for Sprint M8 with supercid installed

I have a Sprint m8 with s-off and supercid already installed but I still can't flash viperone rom as said it doesn't sprint devices. Is there any way I can install this rom on my sprint M8? Also, what other roms can I install on my phone? thanks a lottttt
The latest version doesn't support Sprint. Download version 4.3.0 as it's the latest version which does have Sprint support.

If I recall correctly, the Aroma installer does not have Sprint specifically listed, so choose "Other", or whatever appears at that installation step. I also recommend updating your firmware to the latest version if you have not already done so. If you are already running firmware for Lollipop, then disregard.

Info On Running The Latest RUU On A Rooted/S-Offed Sprint M8

Hi, need some help/Info on this. I have an M8 (Sprint) running ViperOne 5.0.2, it is rooted of course, S-Offed, & the bootloader is unlocked. I want to sell this and I wanted to return it back to stock if it was a quick & easy way. I was wondering if I could just run the latest HTC MM RUU & let it do all the work but I think I read somewhere that it's not that simple. Is that possible? I mean would that hurt anything or break something? If so what about pointing me to a STOCK Sprint ROM that I could just flash, I haven't been able to find one. Thanks In Advance.
You'll need to update your firmware first, then run the RUU afterwards. Check out OMJ's firmware thread for more info.
