[Q] Google edition rom, into an HTC non google edition - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have an original HTC one – Google edition, and I guess I was feeling a little bored today and I thought it be nice to try some HTC one non-Google edition roms
somehow I've gotten confused and so I wanted to ask, as I have an original Google addition HTC one is it possible for me to install a custom ROM on it? something like Viper Rom for example?
obviously, I can't have S off, or at least not that I know of so I was wondering would still be possible for me to flash TWRP recovery, and flash a custom ROM?
if by chance I wanted to go back to the Google edition ROM which I guess sometime I will, I was wondering if I could just use
[RUU] Google Edition Conversion. 4.4.2 RUU Zip pre-rooted/non-rooted + Firmware, to bring my phone back to a stock of Google edition since I won't be changing the model number to a non-HTC one Google edition phone..
my two concerns are I go ahead and install a custom recovery and flashy custom ROM and when going back how would I get back to the stock Google edition?

Non-google ROMS won't run before you'll make SuperCID (11111111) or another, eg. HTC-032 (Poland)

Can't install developers edition RUU

Can anyone please upload their htc one developers edition hboot screen so I can see what firmware and radio you have as stock? I had ARHD installed on my dev edition HtC One and now I want to go back to developer edition but after I install the dev edition I won't be able to install updates, it says the system has been modified. I wonder if my radio version is different or the firmware is different.

HTC One Rogers 4.3 ROM?

Hey all!
I'm a new poster to the forums, but I've been lurking since 2010 with my Xperia X10 (rooted) as my first phone, moving onto the Acer Liquid MT (rooted, was a pain to do so however) and then to the HTC One.
I recently rooted my One. The issue I have at this moment however, is that now that the OTA for 4.3 including Sense 5 is available, I cannot install it, due to the rooted and unlocked BL on the phone. I do know how to relock the BL using fastboot, but I cannot find the appropriate RUU for the Rogers 4.1 ROM.
There are a few things I'm going to be asking for here, just out of curiousity.
First, does anyone have the Rogers RUU for the HTC One? I went onto the dev site, and unfortunately, there is no RUU file found
However, I did find the CRCs for both Rogers versions.
Secondly, lets say I just flash the Developer Edition ROM onto my Canadian device, will I still be able to use the carrier I am with (Rogers)?
Thirdly, if anyone knows of a Google Play Edition ROM for the One that has functional Zoe features, that'd probably solve all of my current minute post-rooting woes.
Much thanks!

Alright, well, the RUU for the Dev Edition is being downloaded as we speak, so if anyone would be able to give me some insight to my queries, that'd be swell. Either way, time for science!

[Q] Converted HTC One Play Edition Restore to Stock Play ROM; Help Please

I converted my AT&T HTC One to Play Edition, with CID and everything. Later, I went to install TWRP, tried CM10.2 and some others. I am trying to get back to stock Play Edition, with OTA, in time for KitKat. Can anyone please help? The only thing I could find is the RUU, but on my Nexus 7, I just used fastboot to flash a stock rom. Thank you in advance

Difference between "converted" GPe and GPe rom?

Hey guys,
since i found a way to convert my Sense HTC to a "REAL" Google HTC i was wondering what the difference is between a "real" google HTC and a rom'ed Google HTC?
Is it just the OTA function?
greetz
I can't say anything about smoothnes, since I have not tried it myself but Sense vs Stock, basically you'll lose Sense properties.
Personally, stock is now boring (even tho I prefer Stock over Touchwiz) but Sense is really nice and lagfree.
The google developer edition isn't carrier locked, it's sim unlocked, which is probably how some international One's are. Besides that it's firmware, such as the dark hboot and the system build
Also carrier versions use false signal reporting icons, which means at a certain signal level (say bare minimum) an ATT phone will show three bars cosmetically instead of the one bar's worth of service it's actually getting. I'm not sure if the play editions use the same CID's as the other versions which determines if it uses real or boosted signal bars.
Hardware wise I haven't found any differences, but something that I'm pretty sure would be different from earlier phones is that they're made from components from newer hardware batches which is usually a good thing.
Didnt really answered my question but k
You can either convert your HTC to a "Real google edition" (with changing CID, flashing RUU etc.) or just flashing a Google edition ROM ...

The difference there would be that the RUU replaces the hboot and stock recovery and firmware/modems. If you flash the google edition rom and also install all of the other stuff seperately it would be the same. There wasn't a modified hboot yet for the google play edition hboot (which is black instead of white) so the custom unlocked and s off user who flashes the components separately will be running a different hboot than the official locked hboot.
Just flashing a rom doesn't change the firmware to answer your question, or hboot, the true google play edition thats upgraded via official channels updates the entire system.
So, basically its the same. Just a different RUU (for maybe better signals - well, under GEp i got full signal, under sense roms i have 2-3 signalbars and i dont even flash RUU or something)

[Q] HTC ONE M7 Three UK ROM needed for stock recovery/OR ROOT

I installed cm11 on my HTC ONE M7. But after it for a while, I was bored by it and started missing my stock htc sense 6 features. So, I want to return back my stock. I forgot keep a backup of my stock rom and I am having a difficult time searching for the rom/ruu. I used the cyanogenmod's own app to install cm11 so it has only tampered my bootloader. Any suggestions?I have even installed TWRP to install a custom ROM. Can I install a Europe version of RUU and still get OTA updates over my phone?
My phone is useless right now. I will be happy to root my phone as well.
