Use a cleaner like sd maid to check what's taking the space.

But be very careful using SD maid. I have had to reflash my ROM as SD maid cleaned up more than I wanted.

On your rooted note. Go to system/data/log, files with filename like cpsilentreset can be deleted.
Add on. Also try clearing cache for facebook app if you are using it.

I have recently flashed remics onto my phone. I then tried to install fifa which is a rather large app. The app said there was not enough space on my sd card. I checked the storage and found all my storage had shrunk. A lot of storage space was part of my usb storage which I don't even know what it is... how do I get more storage onto my sd card.

if stock ics and unsafe kernel then flash safe kernel and go there settings storage and do it there. Take out external to be safe. Not you might want to backup fotos fron dcim folder.
If gb, then go to settings then storage, etc
Its all in user manual
edit: at own risk, also note warrantee issue when changing kernel.

Thanks guys but do i have t backup anyfile from internal sd or just format sd and reboot
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
Copy DCIM folder, which may contains camera pic(depend on setting in camera app)
Plus copy if any media file you have manually keep on Int SD card (eg music/video)
Rest of files and folder will recreate, but yes some data you have to download again. That totally depends on which application you have installed. But sure by downloading again you can get it back.
You'll loose games' progressions, apps' settings... Just be sure to backup with an appropriate way (eg: Titanium backup, also lots of them need root)
games level, App setting stores in Int memory card??

Well, my bad...
Let's say that it could be the case if he used an app2sd app like DroidsAll ^^'
Still confirm one more time.
I never have used app2sd, but afaik it just sends some portion of appl to sd to make room and it can not b use to backup and you will have to reinstall appl to get it work so no meaning to keep that portion of data.
May b i m wrong, as earlier i said i have never move any app to sd with such appl.

Just be sure you are on a safe kernel before wiping.. But every time you want to flash any rom you must wipe data/cache and Dalvik cache..
Failing to do this on a safe kernel will end up with you owning a brick
Tapatalking on my GT-N7000
Already wipe all on safe kernel..but the problem not fix..
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
Have you got a re partitioned chip? If so it's likely you can only use cm based or deodexed roms.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
possibility... u can check the usb storage size if
> 11GB - all ok
< 9 GB - revived from a brick..
Still 11 gb

That's your internal sd card. Perhaps unmount and remount it, you may have to format also.

Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
Don't do any wipes under ics until you're on a safe kernel. Glad you got it sorted.

You need to be rooted to get access to check .odex files. So, that method won't work. I am rooted & solved this issue as Adhityairvan mentioned..
And there are two system storage. One for system apps(around 840MB+new one-preload around 500MB).There is also 2GB for installed apps.
BTW,are you still on GB? Because you have Video maker app and I don't have it since GB or ICS.Hard reset maybe if you are on JB?

Download any cache cleaner app and clean it.... Btw, you could lose some savegame (for example, angry birds savestate)

Try Clean Master its free in the Play Store...
Clean Master
It can clean the Cache but also look for Residual Files that you no longer need...

Hello everyone
I've updated from ICS to JB & my system storage memory isnt full in Apps Manager. But when i download or update any app it keeps telling me no storage availble...
Its not rooted .
Thanks alot

well in the two screenshots attavhed, your phone system storage is differently occupied. What app are you trying to download. It shouldn't be a problem.

install a safe kernel first corresponding to your ROM:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1901191
once done go to recovery go to mounts and storage and wipe /system /data /preload then go down to mount USB storage while it is connected to computer and delete all the files that would appear on the computer. go back and go to wipe cache and then to advanced and wipe dalvik cache.
go to download mode, flash stock rom of any region (without pit file) and flash using pc odin.
Can you post the second screenshot again (not the same as above, new one)
Edit: above mentioned method is if you do not want to backup anything as you will lose everything.
Thanks a lot... but I can't risk losing my data.
But thanks again
