I haven't seen this anywhere on the forums and I have been using the search bar like no other. I just want to know if there is any way I can get LTE. I am running Cyanogenmod 10.1 skrillax nightly. I have HSPA + but not LTE and it won't show the 4G symbol like the old cyanogen roms used tol Can any one help me with this, And if this is in the wrong spot then I'm sorry and I will move it.

What do you mean network. The service is Net10
It worked on stock but when I flashed cyanogenmod I just see HSPA+ NOT 4G
Oh, alright. If you're coming off the att stock ROM, the 4G icon in that is HSPA+ and the 4G LTE icon in the att rom would show as 4G in cyanogen. My guess is you never had LTE to begin with and it's just a matter of how it's named

Yup, looks like net 10 doesn't even support LTE, so yeah I'm gonna say it's a matter of labeling. http://prepaidcellforum.com/threads/does-net10-have-4g-lte-coverage.235/

Those of you on AT&T might want to wait/flash the older radio.
Sounds like if you have root you can flash 4.2.1 radio to get it back though.

Yes they will stick on the LTE/GSM, LTE/XXX settings, but you won't get a LTE connection from those settings.
Bummer but since I have no LTE in my area no biggie

I got this official answer from Google Regarding LTE incompatibility on new radio.
"Nexus 4 hardware and software were not designed to be compatible with LTE, and future LTE capability on today's Nexus 4 will not be possible because of hardware and software incompatibilities. We've heard reports that some users have reconfigured their Nexus 4 to enable LTE under rare circumstances, but it is uncertified and unsupported."
I live in an ATT area, but Not in one that has a frequency that works on the N4, so it's good to see you guys brought back to earth lol. JK that sucks wish I could use LTE

It suck big time. Especially since you buy something knowing LTE can be turned on and then the company that made a device that's so open to everyone, now makes an update specifically fuking up the LTE.
This is exactly what Apple would do, nice going Google

We now have 4G lte service in my area. Well at least on my wife's Samsung Galaxy III. After updating my Thrill to ICS I now have a 4G symbol but I definitely do not have 4G performance. Are these phones capable of true 4G LTE or is it only AT&T HSPA+?
I'm rooted so I can make some manual tweaks if necessary. I noticed a throttle value in the settings.db. What should that value be for the best performance?
Thanks
Reading an old review of the phone on a site,it said the thrill 4g was not a true lte phone. Not sure if it's the hardware or the software. Good luck! What are you getting from speed test app?
Sent from my LG-P925 using xda app-developers app
Yeah.. I did some digging and it's not a LTE capable phone. I was hoping it was software based. AT&T official response was. It's a 4G phone that's not capable of 4G speeds. ??? Figure that one out..
My speed:
4 down and almost 1 up. Latency and jitter are 218 and 70ms. This seems to have gotten worse since the tower went to 4G.
My wifes phone:
18 down and 10 up. I expect this to get throttled at some point. Seems too good to be true. Her latency and jitter on the other hand is 70 and 12ms. Thought this should be better.
Here is mine

What's that weather icon in the Status Bar?
Sent from my HTC One VX using xda app-developers app
the weather icon is the the Wunderground app. i use it because it uses several weather station around my rural area to give me temps rather then interpolate from the bigger cities.
Look up the specs online for lg thrill. It only has an hspa+ radio in it. Think 24+ no LTE.
Sent from my LG-E960
I hit this on XBSAVR3D based on Rogers V30C. Using the V30C baseband I hit almost 9mb down and almost 2mb up! That being said we can't get 4G, and that pretty lil 4G icon they put on our V30B update looks cool but its just eye candy full of lies. ATT said the Thrill is a 4G phone incapable of 4G speeds Didn't think that one through to well did they. Such crap.

I'm upgrading to a HTC One. The thrill has lost its thrill.
The thrill is a 4G phone. Just not 4G LTE. It uses HSPA+ which is a sorta 4G. Its a lot faster then 3G but not as fast as LTE.

Hi everybody. Just a simple question... is there any improvement if I use a 4g sim in my S3 Mini. I've hear the rumor of data speed improvement using one of those. Thanks in advance!

So my question is, and correct me if I'm wrong. But, I can still unlock the att atrix HD to be used on tmobile , correct? Reason for leaving the nexus 4 is the eb40 battery. I had the atrix HD a few months back that had the eb40 in it and got 7 hours of actual screen time with 30 hours between charges. That alone is good enough of a reason.

Do it bro. I unlocked mine and so far no problems. The only rom that have me problems was that miuiv5 port. It would ask me for my unlock code every now and then but LiquidSmooth working powerfully and perfectly! I paid 20 bucks for my unlock code and had it within 2 to 3 hours. No signal nor lte problems although i prefer h+ on T-Mobile due to lte being a batt hog

YUP. Welcome to the Matrix HD T-mo club.
After unlocking, make sure you set the fast.t-mobile.com apn which gives you access to LTE.
Otherwise if you're in an lte area, you'll have no access to internet (the 4g lte icon will be shown but cant turn on).
Mexica retail will allow you to manually select between 4g/3g/2g modes if youre feeling like saving battery/MB
I got LTE 13 on T-Mobile with stock rom and epc.T-Mobile.com apn

There are, but they're for the 4.2.2 custom roms. Without an actual kernel dev working on this device making a custom stock kernel, the best we could do is add in a few patches to the stock for CPU/GPU overclocking, some IO schedulers, and maybe some of the patches used by the dev team. I've even thought about doing a full merge of the dev team kernel and our stock JB kernel just because I can, don't know what that'll do or if it would even boot.
What's included with the mexico ROM? I'm assuming the barebones stock kernel.

I have not unlocked my SIM. Never done anything that involves the SIM card. That was a good thought though. The phone has told me that I cannot get lte because I have no SIM card before though. No, I got a replacement and it wouldn't get 4G at all, just 3G. Figured I'd try to toggle it like you did, same result. Turned out the UICC ID wasn't matching up with Sprint's records. They reprogrammed it or whatever they had to do and all is good now!
