[Q] Stock AOSP Android Browser??? - Xperia SP Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

has anyone come across a way to install stock aosp browser on xperia sp, other than downloading it from google store? that one would not work on my device, it's rooted, with CWM, stock android .245, BL still locked though. I found some discussion on this topic over at Z subforum, but I'm not sure it would work for SP. I really found it better that chrome. or it is just my personal judgment. still, it would be nice to have it on SP.

Here are all the stock AOSP 4.1 apps from an official CM10 edition (extracted from a Galaxy Nexus CM ROM)
Dunno if it will work though, give it a shot.

how to get Vanila jelly bean with sony camera app & features on tmobile usa xperia z?

how to get Vanila jelly bean with sony camera app & features on tmobile usa xperia z?
after having vanilla jelly bean on xperia arc s and then galaxy nexus i like the clean vanilla and the stock google experience.
how can i enjoy my xperia z on tmobile usa with a vanilla jelly bean and with the sony camera app and other sony features like xloud and bravia?
is it possible even on a locked bootloader? i have root and recovery but i prefer just vanilla not a custom rom with more features.
thanks for those able to make it come true [=
Unlock bootloader for vanilla and spent a lot of time on porting framework for Sony apps

You can't install vanilla Android, since it relies on a kernel other than stock.
For that you'll need to unlock your bootloader. And you can't do that on a carrier phone.
Yep can't be done on a locked bootloader as said above and there is no way now or ever to unlock the 6606 bootloader so for us t-mobile customers it's only stock based roms that have lb in the thread title

That i already knew but what about sony's official vanilla google experience? Will that also need an unlocked bootloader or will that be flashable like any other stock rom?
I just want the looks of vanilla completely with the jelly bean holo theme with the stock people app dialer email browser apps. Just keep the sony apk camera

Then you've bought the wrong version of the phone. Yes Sony aosp also needs an unlocked bootloader (custom kernel). The only way to get the stock look is skins.

I remember a developer (forgot his nickname) that built something that able to run all Sony apps in CM7, back then it was done for the Xperia X10, so the camera and other apps worked on top of CM, that'll be awesome if someone could be able to the same.
This is what I'm talking about!

He's doing it on top of CM10 now.

Only stock based Roms are for locked bootloader, so if you want to flash an AOSP based ROM you need to unlock bootloader. You can also do this with Windows 8 and 8.1. If you have Windows 8 go to www.flashtool.net than to faq and there is how to do this. With Windows 8.1 go here: http://www.howtogeek.com/167723/how...8.1-so-that-you-can-install-unsigned-drivers/

Cm11 and stock xperia roms have different framework if you copy the.apks it won't work! its possible if Sony releases official 4.4 for us. Cm11 is aosp based rom it's not possible.

which android version runs better on xperia z

Hi there
i just bought my xperia z and updated to latest 4.4.2 version but its a bit laggy and performance is poor
i just wonders if previews android version are better or not ? for example how about 4.1.2 or 4.2.2 ?
i don't care about update .... i just want something that runs smooth on my phone ( i was nexus 4 owner)
so if u had any experience with older versions on xperia z please help me
thanks
4.3 been best so far, but I'm pretty sure bug fixes will come out for 4.4 too
Use Existenz 7.0... Best ROM on version 4.3.. Very smooth and stable. One of the best Roms I ever used. .
