So any of you tested the CM10.2 nightlies with a Lapdock ?
is the aspect ratio and resolution now fixed over stock JellyBean ?
Please no "I think" or "it will not work" or "go back to ICS" or "there's no webtop on AHD you *****"
I ask for first hand experience over the lapdock screen detection and displayed resolution.
tell us your observations when YOUR OWN AtrixHD on CM10.2 is plugged in a Motorola Lapdock
thanks

I'm curious as well. Currently I'm considering getting a tablet, but for $100 the Moto Lapdock 500 Pro seems like it would be worth getting over one -- I only want a tablet for the bigger screen when reading.
Im going to try this soon on my xt926 razr hd just to see. Right now im sticking with ics just for the lapdock to work.
Just tried my atrix lapdock with 4.3 rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2442700
Mouse and Keyboard worked but got ntohing on the lapdock screen. Just a quick message when i opened the lid that said something to the effect of "no hdmi input detected"

Seems Android 3.2 is Honeycomb 3.1, but optimised for 7" tablets. Let's hope it's been optimised for the physical size, not the pixel size (though Android can do this, so it ought not be an issue). Can't wait!

I totally understand; it's exciting!
Dell had better get off their butts, though, or DJ_Steve and crew will wipe the floor with them. Of course, even if Dell does get off their butts DJ_Steve will still pass them once AOSP HC/ICS is released. I hope to have some dev skills by then (learning Linux and Java now, though I'm starting from scratch so I have a ways to go before I'm useful).
this is awesome news.. hope this will release by sometimes this summer
Gawd I hope they're doing something with this!
Wait, why would this benefit us? If that tablet is already honeycomb compliant in the resolution department why does that infer 3.2 is friendly for all 7" tablets?
I apologize for my ignorance and seek understanding.
The only current release target for 3.2 is another 7" tablet (the one in OP's link)
the only size tablets available with 3.0 and 3.1 are 10" tabs.
All HC tabs are either completely google stock roms or functionally google stock (the transformer has a couple icons changed but nothing functional i believe?)
Add all those together and it's likely google is working with them to make HC work well on 7" (and not just a straight port)
What does this involve? Prob not much, but it cant ever hurt to have more thorough testing/support for a device.
the streak 5 has an unofficial, unreleased port of HC, but the icons are very small. The 3 soft buttons are small on a 5" and require more precision then you'd normally expect in comparison to the other buttons because they're spaced so close together.
I'd imagine even if there's no feature changes there might be work on making sure the UI is nice and touch friendly for that size.

It probably has to do with the issue of GAPPS not displaying properly unless you're at 106 screen density or below; ours look best at 160.
I am not very phone savy, so please bear with me. I only ask to expand my knowledge, and I hope that my asking questions and learning doesnt offend the "Gurus". If it does, please feel free to flame.
I currently own a droid 3, running AOKP.
Now that the ICS leak has happened for the droid 4, I am considering upgrading to the Droid 4. I kicked myself when the D4 was announced, realizing I should not have bought my Droid 3, the 512 mb of ram and the lack of LTE.... >.< So, Grand ma offered me use of her upgrade for $100, plus $100 for the Droid 4 on Amazon, I could reasonably get the awesomeness that is the D4. I just want some info before I purchase it. (I welcome any input about this decision also)
Now that ya'll have a functional kernel with HW acceleration, video camera, and evil BLUR, how much work will it be to create custom roms based upon this? Is the Droid 4 likely to see AOKP/CM9 soon with fully functional video cameras?
My favorite things about AOKP on my D3 is that I have the "Octo" lock screen, which I love. I have spell check, (I believe this is built into ICS) which makes me look 1,000,000 times less stupid, and I have volume key music control. I realized that until a custom Rom for the D4 is released, one that has the custom lock-screens and the music controls, I wont be able to as efficiently control my phone. So, maybe the D4 isnt exactly what I need yet.
I also then wonder if 6 months after getting the D4 I will be trying to run Jelly Bean, and once again have no functional video camera, complaining I need the D5 or some nonsense. >.<
Hey, I'm in the same boat as you, but why don't you check out the buy and sell section of this website? I just picked up a droid 4 for around 300, no contract ;-)
Regarding your question about about the leaked roms, hashcode will need to build separate cm9/aokp builds that indicate ics-leaked in order for us to get full functionality on ICS. We also need safestrap2 in order to use custom roms on the leaked icss builds.
When upgrading your D4 to ICS, be sure to use the prescribed method on this forum in order to keep root. I don't think there is a way to get root back yet in the ics builds yet.
Hashcode recently got his d4 so we should be seeing some progress soon.

Not officially.

Definitely not. Probably not even 4.3. At least not from Motorola anyways.

Ultimately there is going to be a point in development on a device that, when reached, will effectively mark the device as end of life. Community development and support generally goes on much longer than official support. Other factors such as network connectivity, processor speeds and memory can influence how long a device can be developed for. So far the Atrix has 4.0, 4.1, 4.2 and 4.3. In terms of Android this device has had a fairly good showing considering it is not a Nexus device. Many people are still waiting for Jellybean on their devices, so at this point the fact we have Jelly Bean and then some should be reason enough to be thankful for developers that have sacraficed their time for this device.
I don't think Key Lime is going to hit the Atrix, but if someone who plays developer in their spare time decides it is worth attempting it will be done. Keep in mind it will be an unofficial build and likely ported over from a device with similar specs, so not exactly a squeaky clean representation of what KLP would like on the Atrix HD.
The only thing stopping me from buying a TF701 is some kind of confirmation that someone will port CM to it. I keep searching the thread and I haven't seen anyone saying they will do so, the only rom I have seen notice of is cromi-x.
Did anyone see somewhere else a confirmation that it will get CM, even if it is not an offical port?
Thanks!

It is simply too new for it now.
Tablets that are delivered suffer from the bad connection issue so overall most of current users (me too) won't even have it unlocked to be sure the warranty can kick in when necsessary.

Exactly this
Yes I read the reviews for the dock and I know many people are having problems. Frankly the dock is not very interesting to me, the TF701 is just the most affordable tablet with all top specs right now. I've been rocking a HP touchpad with CM since CM9 so I think I deserve a little upgrade
In fact it looks like the Asus UI is pretty much stock android (nothing like touchwiz or sense) and considering the few differences between 4.3 and 4.4 on tablet i might not root or flash roms (once that's possible) on my TF701 for a while.
Where I am more concerned is for the long run, OEMs rarely update their devices past 2 android version updates, so if there is no support for CM for the TF701 then it means the tablet will probably not be getting Lollypop and Marzipian etc

Someone handed me their Fire HD 7" (2012 model) this week, after telling me he bought it for his wife who only touched it a handful of times.
I already own 2 modern cheapo 2015 Fires with the latest Fire OS, and I'm pretty happy with what I can do on them, but I like the HDMI output on this when I travel (I only bring a laptop for the HDMI out, otherwise all I'd need is a tablet!) and the better speakers with Dolby support. But man I really don't like the OS that this 2012 HD has. I don't like how the soft keys operate, and some sideloaded applications need at least KitKat and apparently this build is based on something earlier than 4.4 (I know its 4.x, I'm surprised it didn't make it to Kitkat as pretty much everything in that era had it!).
So I got excited when I saw Cyanogen had a version! But then my heart sunk when I saw that not everything is supported 100%, especially the HDMI output. So now I'm wondering, is there a custom ROM with better softkeys and app support that still has all the hardware working as it should? Or do all of them compromise in one way or another? Because I'll be honest, I don't mind Fire OS that much as long as I can sideload apps, and I'd rather not lose functionality. But I wouldn't mind a more stock Android experience if it had more modern softkeys and app support, as long as everything still works. Is this a "have my cake and eat it too" notion?
