Link2SD - Sony Xperia ZR

Am trying to use this app but I keep getting no root access warning which I have granted multiple times. Also, I read somewhere that I should clear cache and delvic cache, already did that too. What else am I missing? Should I format in ext2? I formatted my 2nd partition for ext4

[Q] manage applications stuck in 'computing' help please

Captivate, build 1007, current rom cognition
I've gone back to stock with odin, things look normal, but when i root and flash back to a rom [cognition] i am unable to add few, if any apps. manage applications has any apps in this "computing" mode that never changes
when i try to wipe Dalvic cache, it appears to wipe, but "E: can't/ mount/ dev/ block/ mmcblk1p2 (file exists)" Does that mean i'm not really wiping dalvic ?
I've also wiped partition cache, formated system, data and cache, should i format sdcard?
I have several apps in TiBu, can i copy that folder back to the sd card if i format the sd card?
I've also also wiped data/factory reset ed from both CW recovery as well as in android.
This question has come up in other areas but with either no answers or to delete cache from market, which of i cannot do when it's 'computing'
Any thoughts or assistance will be appreciated
thanks
I'd imagine that you already found a solution to your issue, being that it was posted a while ago. I wanted to post what worked for me, with the same issue. Look in your SD card for a folder called .android_secure. There you will find all your downloaded apps, delete all the apps with a -2 in the extention. They are duplicate apps that have been stored. Once I deleted all thos it worked for me!

Reduce /cache partition under CM7

Just a quick question:
What happens to system-dalvik-cache under /cache, if I resize this partition to e.g. 5 MB?
I've read somewhere that CM7 moves it to /data. true? Are there any other disadvantages of such a small cache-partition?
many thanks!
Someone?

Yes, on CM7, if the cache partition is too small, it will move it to the /data partition. I think it is /data/local/cache
Dalvik-cache never resides on /cache anyway. /cache is for Market and OS OTA downloads. If you make it too small - your Market downloads might fail.
I didn't even realize he was talking about dalvik cache. The dalvik cache resides on the /data partition by default for both system and data apps.
As Jack_R1 said, the cache is only used for temporary files, like OS upgrades and market downloads. If the cache partition gets below a certain point (I think it is 5MB), CM7 will automatically change the cache directory to the /data partition.
On my device the market download folder has already a symlink to my /data partition. Other then my system dalvik. At least it seems so.
Thanks for your help. So i can go ahead and resize with blackrose

dalvik cache - sd-ext

Since the beginning it is the same.
When i want to wipe dalwik cache on cwm, it says sd-ext not found and after that dalvik cache wiped.
I asked it to my friend. He said there might be a problem with your partition table. It can make performance reducing. Search about it...
Is it normal? I never see formatting sd-ext or anything other from sd-ext not found. Maybe i installed million roms...

I9001 full phone wipe

I have few questions for wiping the phone?
A lot of time passed since I bought this phone, and there are a lot of garbage in sdcard and system itself? I changed many ROMs, and I want to breathe new life to phone.
I am interested in following CWM functions:
format /system
format /cache
format /data
format /sdcard
format /emmc
Will it erase everything and everything from the phone and sdcard, including the system?
Will this remove CWM and Root?
How to flash new system again, when I am not able to boot?
Is above procedure same as this, except that in this case, I am able to boot latest installed system?
- wipe data/factory reset
- wipe cache
- wipe dalvik
- format sdcard
- format emmc
What about code *2767*3855# , what is included under this type of wipe/reset?
Thanks
This just wipes apps. When you format /system it won't boot so you can only install a new ROM or restore a backup.. And no CWM won't be deleted..
Most ROMs format system automatically. But when you upgrade from GB to ICS you should format system and wipe data, cache and Dalvik cache.
And about the code, it's called a hard reset, same as wipe data in CWM.

Emmc is external SD card, I don't really know if it formats all(music and stuff and apps) or just apps. But i think formatting in CWM wipes apps only ..So better not format it .. no ROM requires formatting SD or emmc
And you should always save backups on your PC..but if you format SD I don't think it will wipe data

How to Wipe Cache Partition m

Sorry if this has been posted or asked already, I tried to look up and couldn't find any.
So where on earth Wipe Cache Partition is on Nokia 7 Plus? I did tried to go into recovery, can wipe data but there is no wipe cache partition. There was an another user who didn't had the option either so I guess 7 Plus don't or is it hiding under something?
Thanks.
