Guys i use SwiftDroid ASIS but my battery is drained in like 12 hours if i let 3G turned on. Otherwise its still dead in 18 hours anyway. What is the best battery saving ROM in all ?
Airplane mode ROM.
just a joke... lol
i think that froyo is best on battery life.
There is basically no advice to extend battery life on the optimus without the additional expense of an extended battery.

The best battery to power ratio has the 2.2.2 foryo with fully working .32 kernel from pcfighter

The stock 2.1 ROM has the best battery life.

yeah mike made a 2.1 rom with bfs and all kinds of other stuff but it does not have root or jit
The best rom that has a great battery life is 2.1.
As our phone is getting older and older (I have it since 9/2010), also battery is getting weaker. So, I want to stick to a 2.1 ROM and want your advices. Besides battery performance, important for me are: stable wifi and fast gps lock. thx for reading : )
I forgot to mention: I want your advice on which 2.1 ROM I should use?
Yes, stock 2.1 Eclair is the absolute winner in terms of battery life. I remember I had 4 days with normal usage, good old times
yep using it now (well no really stock v20e light version by miro) watch 2 hrs of video nonstop still above 97

So is the ROM you are using, the best 2.1 ROM in your opinion? I was using greendroid for 3-4 days, great battery life, but I saw wifi disconnecting after some time and keep saying: obtaining address...
Did you use a 2.2 ROM coming close to the 2.1 in battery performance? (Only flash support is pushing me not to go back to 2.1)
Well in my experience any 2.3 ROM can last 2 days if overclock is under 700MHz, brightness about 50%, use 2G only when not going on internet etc. With 2.2 ROMs you can get even more battery life, and with 2.1 the most. It depend how much you need.
Project utopia is the most stable fastest 2.2 I have ever used very similar to 2.1
Now I can also highly recommend SDSL prefinal, now I'm on 50% battey after 3 days of use! (it just passed the 3day mark). All this with low-mid usage, so I think this is also awesome from a 2.3 rom!
And I use 122-806MHz with smartassv2 governor, so if you don't OC at all, you can reach even higher battery lifetime! I'm curious whether can I reach the magic 4 days of constant use on GB.
good luck to you maybe screen off set to 480-122 smartassv2
Hello guys
I was testing the MIUI but the autonomy is very very bad , but the rom is very amazing !
For you which is the best rom for best autonomy on the optimus 2x ?
Cyanogenmod or stock custom ... ?
What do you mean by autonomy?

Latest kang with CM7, 2 days light use.

I've had best experience so far with the Flair GB v4 Revolution rom, gives me 2 days with some use, including listening to podcasts and chatting on yahoo. That is, with juicedefender installed. Juicedefender is really a basic necessity for good battery life.
Guys,
Check the Blazing Dragon 2.1a and the tweaks with 999,Juwe script and HP 9 with PP9lite...gives me 3days and 10hrs....with light use, a little wifi , some pics and music.....amazing perf but yeah...Juice Defender is a great app....life becomes such a fantastic thing with these kind of good apps...
Stock V20M gives me very good battery life.
the new wajkiui rom is awesome, in my case i safe more battery than @cm7 or miui!

On stock rom or even Topogigi I had issues with standby battery life, phone would lose 5-10% per hour.
Now on CM7 I can idle for 10 hours overnight and lose 10% in total. Usage time is horrible and will always be horrible for these phones, best you can do is fix idle usage.
I get around 4 hours of screen on time with CM7. I carry 2 spare batteries with me though, good eBay investment for $2.80 each. Buy a charger too so you can charge them out of phone ($3.50)
Using the latest CM7-Kang (temasek) and Vadonka's Kernel : poor battery life for the last versions, Baseband is 218 and no task killer, no background apps like FB & so on...
Biggest drain is due to download and 3G
I tried CM7 stock (with 2/3 different kernels)
I tried with the Mugen 1700 battery, and the stock one
Tried with ext4 without journal, and some other tips...
Results are very similar... And the O2X (even with second core management tuned) and undervolted...
Now : defined some tasks with Tasker (switch to 2G, toggle mobile data)... some gain, but not very significant
Sad, and looking for a VERY good ROM that gives real batt'life, but I'm afraid it's hardware related on the o2x...
Heard that DjangoManouche & its kernels gives better batt'life (significant) and I'll probably give a try
(schedulers? I/O tweaks? mount options? voltages?)...
Try hybrid revolution. Its verry good for battery autonomy
for me civato is the best...
I am using Temaseks final KANG with Vadonkas latest LOC Kernel. No Tasker, no task killer, no Juice Defender. UV a little bit and set profiles with setCPU. Battery lasts 2 Days in light to medium use.
Hey guys! I'm sorry (lol) but i can assure without dubts that the best one for battery life is Djdroid v1.4 that you can find in android developmente section ^_*
I‘m using Alien Revolution 2.0 (based on CM7 KANG) I get 1 day of medium use (1h calls, 3G on half of the time, 15-30 min of games) I want to try WIUI now.

is there any custom gingerbread rom with bloatware removed and big free ram? and a kernel with OC/UV? plus great game compability?
how about MIUI?
Have yet to find one to best DjangoMouche 1.2.1 its GB 2.3.4 its customized, with different themes to choose from and a good bunch of performance tweaks. everything has been running smooth.
games run well, things load fast
I'm using Gueste overclock v1.8.1 kernel but thats up to choice. i found it works great between 900 - 1300mhz. but above that its rebooted on me a few times.
You could try Temasek's CM7 Rom with it's own kernel, it has OC/UV and all that things.. Run's pretty smooth and stable but i can recommend you to use GO Launcher EX with an ICS Theme :good:

Currently on DJ 1.5RC1 and have to say it is truly magical. The feel of performance, smoothness and speed is just incredible.Always try to experiment with other GB roms and always drawn back to DJ ROM.DJ roms provide many choices according to our needs and customization as we like with transformation packs. So have to say this is the best choice i will ever have:cyclops:
Same here, Django Manouche, currently 1.5 RC1, but I am using latest spica kernel ;-)

Hi, this is my first post here. I have been flashing various roms and a few basebands and rils in my quest to get better battery life from my LG Optimus 2x. In the end. Most of what I have done is experimental and I can not say I understand much about versions and combinations. Last night, I read quite a few posts about the Django Manouche rom and downloaded all the three versions of the 1.6, the stock, the Spica and the Gueste.
Flashing led to boot looping on the Spica rom, powering off on the Gueste rom while on the stock 1.6s it ran OK, with some applications not running until I rebooted.
I came from a stock LG rom and was wondering if I need to change the baseband and kernel also, for these to work.
Any advice is welcome. Thanks in advance.
I think these "best rom" threads are forbidden but I'll give my 2 cents anyway, in case I'm wrong:
for me the best rom is Gueste Hybrid revolutions 3.7, is a hybrid between stock Rom and cm7.2, and symbiosis kernel 1.3.
I get great performance, great battery life, great ram management. I can't really complain, I'm so satisfied that I'm not that eager to get ICS (at least not as much as I was before).
LG optimus 2x, rom Gueste Hybrid 3.7
@daas88. Taking your advice, I have flashed the same combination as you, just this morning. I have been very active on the phone since then, so I can't tell right away, if there is any improvement in battery life.
By the way, I continue to be on the 20i baseband.
I shall report back soon.
Temasek
Probably the cleanest install would be Temasek. A very stable CM7 build. It's sort of finished, and offers a great experience. Use it with Temasek's, Spica's or symbi0sis kernel.
I've tried DM and it's great, but this just feels cleaner.
gl!
I have been reading about the Temasek rom. What is your view on its battery consumption? That is something I am focussing on. The stock LG set up lasts for about 9-11 hours on my phone, with full 3G, about 4 hours of wifi usage and about 1-2 hour of music (Neutron music player). I have a battery pack that I carry with me to work, but it is a big bother.
So, basically, to me battery life is top priority. If I can extend it to 12-15 hours, I am home and dry.
I've used Temasek for a long period of time, and though I don't want to go back to gingerbread (currently on Paranoid Android) I do miss the battery life. With Temasek (or stock CM7) I would get about 32 hours of battery life: a day and a night. This with some browsing, playing music checking e-mail.
Overclocking would lose you some of that time, but the toggle2g app would win it back. :good:

i have cm7 135 from temasek but battery is not so great have bb 218 and ril its the best right now but battery hold max 3h screen on and with 15-17h on time, it sucks, so i want to try dj mouche v20s with bb and rill and hope to get better battery life....
because if a old galaxy s1 can get 1day easy and 4h++ screen on, the fricking lg must get some were neer also......
stanby is **** i find on this phone dont know if its normal but yeah.
i say try dj mango mouch and flash also v20s bb and i think battery will be great and performance i think they are the same

Increased CPU performance, larger screen and stagnated battery technology will do this
As for battery life, I do miss my Nokia 3210!
A small update. I charged my phone to 100% yesterday evening at 7 PM. From then on till now, what I observe is that with the phone in standby mode, the battery consumption curve remains almost flat. But the moment I start using some apps, for instance the Number links game for 15-20 minutes, the battery level drops by 10%.
This is with the Gueste Hybrid ROM and the Symbiosis kernel.
Further update: The battery went to 14% and then I charged it. 15 hours. Some improvement. It may be too early to comment, but this set up seems to work superbly when the phone is on standby. When the phone is in use, the consumption seems to be high. Could it be improved by changing the BB or the ril?

My suggestion would be stock gingerbread with speedmod kernel k2-12, i used to get around 4 days with normal use.
That sounds nice. Do you have heavy use of yout phone? Or only deep sleep all the time?
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
I use it for playing games, little music, calls and messaging. Sometimes connect to Wi-fi. With the same in ICS i get around 2 days.
okay thank you i´ll try. :fingers-crossed:
to set expectations straight, expect thought about 4.5 hours nonstop usage on gb with speedmod kernel.
4 hours on ics with speedmod
alk stock dont expect more then 3 to 3.5 hours.
you only get 2 days if you dont synch, barely use phone and are in good reception area with data switched off always.
Note general tips which can be found in the 10000plus threads about battery drain and how to analyse deepsleep issues

I don't know whether you like gingerbread roms or not , but till date the rom with which I got maximum battery backup with modeate to heavy usage was CheckRom Revo HD V6. This rom never lags , best battery life , and good speed .
If you are Gingerbread hater and ICS lover , then you can try Rocketrom v7( very good battery life with the included kernel , and would be much better with Speedmod Kernel (latest version) ). And then you have CleaNote V2.30 ( V3.0 has bluetooth glitches but its faster , if you are bluetooth user i would suggest you to stick with V2.30 ) , I personally love CleaNote because it has stock look and very fluidic :good: and as the tagline says 'You dont want any theme forced down to your throat '. KingDroid are good at speed but many have reported few glitches with it , you may try it if you like ( I dont like KingDroid , its sth personal ). If you hate Samsung's bloatware then we have Cassie's XtraLite rom for your rescue :cyclops:. Its a good rom too .
Well finally to end , I use cyanogenmod 9 and i update it everyday and with each update it gets more fluid and responsive, fast , smooth . i just love cyanogenmod9 ( waiting for cm10 ).
ParanoidAndroid are for ppl who love fun , who want to showoff their phone , the ability of their phone , the sweet hybrid interface of their phone , its for geeks :-0 .
Make a choice or try all of them :good::good:

I am using CLASSIC V1+15 toggle with MOD V1 which is ICS 4.0.4, and I also updated kernel to chainfire LRG, which is more stable and smooth, battery life is excellent comparatively to all other ROMs so far.
Which is around 4% drain per hour, I have (facebook, wechat, LINE, mitalk, whatsapp, email, exchange service, maps, mixed chinese input, make your own clock) running and leaving it on idle.

For the past 2 years of beeing a S galaxy user, I've quite looked for best battery life at top performance. Most of the time, battery life is no longer measured in "days" of usage , like we used to do with our Nokia phones. Nowadays, you ten to look at display (screen on) time , CPU profiles, and also connectivity patterns.
You can think of battery life as a factor of the above mentioned, however I think that display time is the most important parameter related to battery life. CPU profiles, connectivity, tend to work only when you have your screen on, and from my experience, you tend not to extend your usage time by more than 10-20%.
So as a conclusion, I did not expect a specific rom / kernel configuration to offer more "screen on" time but to offer a more faster way to do my tasks therefore I did more tasks in almost the same display time.
At the end of the day, it is more important how you USE your device rather than finding a "magical" combination that will increase your battery life.
KID + SpeedMod
+1 for GB (i was using checkrom but i'm sure any gb rom will give similar effects) with Speedmod.
If you make setcpu to 200mhz on screen off, i find it uses almost no power at all when it's on standby.
Like it was on 77% when i went to bed.
Woke up in the morning and it was on 78% (i was like lolwut).
Yay for setcpu.
But seriously though, any GB rom will give you considerably more battery life than any ics rom.

The best ROM for a battery-HALF ILLUSION and placed on the scale smartas governor.

the best rom for battery is Criskelo's ICS V9
I bet this is the best custom rom on battery savings, try it you will not regret it. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1722038
Hello,
I just got myself an optimus 4x HD and i was wondering why it so slow and hanging everytime when i want to open the menu. Also the battery life is very poor.
I read that the tegra 3 is very nice powerful and smart power saving.
So what can i do to get that effect?
I got the latest android STOCK ROM installed and the stock kernel.
I want to flash cyanogenmod only when i 100 percently know that this will fix my problem.
(When i do can i get official roms? I had an XU before and there was no official CM ROM for it)
Thanks in advance and sorry for my bad language (im using tapatalk and the battery is going low very fast so i got to hurry )
Tegra 3 itself is, but the p880 isn't. You can't do really much. There are tweaks that give you a bit better performance OR battery life. Best battery life is on stock, with tweaks you may reach the same on custom roms. Custom roms tend to have better performance. There are plenty of official roms for the device.
Damm it well ill try official cm rom and a custom kernel there are plenty of them so there is nothing i can do now?
Gesendet von meinem LG-P880 mit Tapatalk
Actually i find custom roms to be friendly with battery.
With my device and stock roms i get about 2h screen and and 8-9h overall life.
With custom roms - about 2.30h screen and 11h. overall.
i use only 2g, wi-fi always on, screen brightness 35%.
no auto sync, no location detection.
According to me, this settings are FAR away from battery drainage, still the device battery life sux.
3 Major drawback with p880
- absurd battery life
- camera quality is very bad for 8mp, it makes pics more like 5mp
- overheating constantly, no matter what rom, kernel or settings
Yeah i noticed that... well actually in winter the overheating point is not that bad... got an alternative to LG P880? Maybe with Tegra 4 or K1 (acutally never heard of smartphone with K1 inside)
Tapatalking ^^
With Nova Launcher and Leandroid it works pretty good
Try it its smooth and battery will last little bit longer
Tapatalking ^^
You have to think of the p880 as an alfa romeo 8c,
great specs, good design, good components but a shopping cart has better handling
on stock JB ROM, i had to disable the hidden MLT to get rid of the lags, to a certain extent
now on Beanstalk 4.4.4010 with Archidroid's optimizations + iodak v10 CM kernel, my battery is lasting over a day (with light usage 1.5-2hrs onscreen time). never even got close to that with stock JB ROM.
Performance is also much better on the said ROM and kernel
